PDF stupid question: what is the difference between 'Save as PDF' and printing to PDF "printer"?

Is there a difference in quality?

The "save under" seems to distill, but if I select 'Print Document' and select 'Adobe PDF' as the printer, it also seems to work OK, although I sometimes get a "Times" font unavailable, will be replaced by "Times New Roman", although I can't find any reference to "the times" in my book.

Is there an advantage to running distilled?

Thank you!

John

They are essentially the same - one is traditionally more stable (print) than the other (save as).

  • Stupid question: what is the difference between RAC and Clusterware?

    Hi all

I'm about to start experimenting with the 11 G RAC Setup (to begin with, is that a cluster of a node, will try to add another later).

I am reading the docs... I'm on that of clusterware installation, and it seems to indicate that the clusterware and RAC are two different things?

    http://download.Oracle.com/docs/CD/B28359_01/install.111/b28263/prelinux.htm#BABJHGBE

With quotes like "UDP is the default for Oracle RAC interconnect protocol and TCP is the Protocol of interconnection for Oracle Clusterware. You must use a switch for interconnection. Oracle recommends using a dedicated switch. "

Can someone tell me the difference? I know it sounds stupid, but it's confusing me, and I'm new on this.

What is the difference between the Oracle Clusterware and Oracle Real Application Clusters?

In case of failure of the system, put in cluster guarantees availability high for users. Redundant hardware components, such as the additional nodes, interconnection, and discs, allow the cluster to provide high availability. These redundant hardware architecture avoid the single points of failure and provide exceptional resilience fault.

In environments Oracle Real Application Clusters (RAC), Oracle Clusterware monitors and manages Real Application Cluster databases. When a node of the cluster is started, all instances, auditors and the services are started automatically. If an instance fails, the clusterware automatically restarts the instance, so that the service is often restored prior to the notice of the administrator, he was down. In this sense Oracle Clusterware is the base of Oracle Real Application Clusters.

In these environments CCR ensures the continuous operation of the database, but also scalability by running several bases of instance data at the same time, usually one on each node in the cluster.

  • What is the difference between save in jpeg and jpg format export

    Hello

Can you tell me what the difference is between save it in jpeg format and export as jpg features.  If I do two things on the same tiff/psd file, the jpeg format is about 10 MB and the jpg is around 2 mb.  What information will I lose through the export feature?

    I use photoshop cc.

In addition to what Jane said, the reason for the difference in file size, assuming that you used the same quality in both cases, is due to the presence of metadata in the version save slot, but not the export version as.

If you look at the charts of Jane, you will see the metadata 'none' radio button is selected that tells the program to remove it. When you work with Photoshop on a PSD or other types of files, the program saves a history of all the things you do and stores. This can cause a very large amount of effectively unwanted data is saved and the file size, or even from a PSD can really expand considerably as the Junk does not appear to be stored compressed. The more you work on the document of that metadata more gross accumulates. You can see what happens in Photoshop by selecting File Info

If you look at the raw data tab, you can see all stored in XML format. It doesn't mean much unless you are an expert, but I imagine that someone finds it useful.

When you export as is everything that that data are removed, reducing the size of the file. You can see that in taking a Jpeg exported in this way and the information file by calling again. What confuses some people, is that the data are still there when it shouldn't, this occurs because the Act of opening the file is saved and poured in the raw data. It is not really there in your file unless you save the file later.

    Hope that helps

  • What is the difference between HP Photo Creations and Snapfish

    I've been curious.

What is the difference between HP Photo Creations and Snapfish?

Hi Jeff17866. The difference between these two services are the location, accessibility and share-ability of the recorded images. Snapfish is a photo on the web edition and sharing and belonged to printing HP service. You upload your images on the Snapfish site and share with other sites (Facebook, Flickr, etc) by selecting the appropriate options. The images are then stored on the cloud, and you will be able to access it from any device with Internet access. So, if you want to easily share your photos with your friends and family around the country, Snapfish is a great tool to do. HP Photo Creations is a photo editing software that you download to your desktop. You can edit your photos and order prints just as with Snapfish, but all pictures remain on your hard drive. They can be shared by downloading files on the sites you want the images appear, but you are not able to access it on other devices. -Chauntain

  • What is the difference between Windows 7 OEM and the retail version of Windows 7?

Can someone tell me, what is the difference between windows 7 OEM and sales vs retail?

Can someone tell me, what is the difference between windows 7 OEM and sales vs retail?

There is no difference in the product itself.

Although if you get a generic OEM full version, it contains the
even software, it has the following disadvantages compared to the
    commercial version:

    1. the biggest drawback of an OEM version (at least in the USA) is
that its license it permanently binds to the first computer, it is
installed on. He can never legally be moved to another computer, sold,
or given (except with the original computer). If the computer
dies or is stolen, your license dies with him.

    2. he can't do a clean install, not an upgrade.

3 Microsoft offers no support for OEM versions. You cannot call their
with a problem, but rather to secure the necessary support of your
OEM; who take in charge may go anywhere between property and non-existent. Or
You can get support elsewhere, like in these forums.

  • What is the difference between a mixture, Fix and Express?

I use regular PS on my computer but wanted to use a similar app on my ipad.  Then I saw that there was a choice (ahhh!)   What is the difference between a mixture, Fix and Express?

    Hi Steve!

    Thanks for reaching out.

Difficulty: Adobe free new Photoshop Fix, capture CC apps enhance your photographs and capture assets | PCWorld

Fixed introduced options that allow you to 'fix' and enhance your images in photo editing.

Mix: photo and image editor app | Download Adobe Photoshop Mix

Mix presents the composition options. This means that you can combine several images, cut out backgrounds and active layer.

Express: Photoshop Express is like a version blocked Photoshop with an interface that looks like the desktop application.

Thus, with respect to the app you choose, it really depends on what you would use it for. Do one of these hopeful sounds?

    Let me know!
