PDFMaker 9.1, Excel 2003, users cannot save form data

Hello world

I'm looking for help with a problem.

I created a new form in Adobe Pro 9.1 bringing in an excel template.  The final product was beautiful.  I had our IT Department post it on our Intranet, and some individuals commented back that they cannot save a copy of the data that they have entered in the blank form.  I tested with others where it works very well.  I can't confirm 100%, but it seems that he who has the 'Pro' version Adobe can save and who have just the 'standard' could not be saved.  They get this message save a blank copy of this form, the data entered in this form will not be saved... "etc".

I tried to go to the advanced features in Adobe Reader extension, but that did not help either, once posted on the Web site.

Suggestions how to activate so that all users (1000) can save their work they typed in the document if they wish?

Thank you very much in advance!

Not explicitly deal with everything that is causing the problem.

Just a re obtw: 'expanded' PDF forms (which, if there are users of Adobe Reader, will have to be made use of):

When "extend you" a PDF form using most respect the "limit 500" of the EULA.
With "1000" end-users, you might well be in danger.

See Section 15.12.3 (PDF page 408 to 410).
http://www.Adobe.com/products/EULAs/PDFs/Gen_WWCombined-20080205_1329.PDF

LiveCycle ES allows you to avoid this but is expensive.
Furthermore, piping on the entry of the user to FDF form and treatment which, at the level of the server, we could do.
To do this, you can have your people IT gives the FDF SDK at a glance.

Be well...

    Your Windows XP question is more complex than what is generally answered in the Microsoft Answers forums. It is better suited for the IT Pro TechNet public. Please post your question in the TechNet Windows XP forum.

  • Cannot save the data

    I get the message "Cannot save the data" every time I try to open a single file CPTX. other files work fine. When I open the file, it gives me that message box, I click ok and another box says "a fatal error has occurred and the application is being completed. "and Captivate closes.

    I cleared the cache. I also tried to find and rename the Preferences folder, but I don't see any preferences folder or file in the \AppData\Local\Adobe\Captivate 5.5\ folder. Any ideas on what I need to do to fix this?

    The preferences folder is the folder "Captivate 5.5' in your profile (users\\AppData\Local\Adobe directory.

    Firefox 4 does not save form data after sending form and pressing the back button... It's very annoying that it erases all data. It worked fine on FF3.

    See:

  • Security problem - no security not defined but not, users can save form

    I created a PDF with Acrobat 9 Pro form. I deliberately chose to "No Security" when I created the form because we want users to be able to download the form, fill in the form with the information, save the form with the information between and then email the form to our Department human resources.

    However, whenever the form is opened with Adobe Reader 8, the user is informed that they cannot save data typed into the form and that their only option is to print the form.

    Is there a step I'm missing to save the form with the data entered as possible?

    Yes. After the creation of the form, you must use advanced > enable usage rights in Adobe Reader.

  • How to remove the warning "cannot save form information.

    docOpenWarn.jpg

    I created a file of pdf XFA (using the LC Designer 8.2) to post this question, but I have a step could join the pdf so please bare with me with the explanation

    Click event js:

    function activateUser() {}
    var PDFVersion = xfa.host.variation + xfa.host.version;
    xfa.host.messageBox ("registered button click event");
    XFA. Form.Form1.sendForm.welcomeMsg.Presence = "invisible";
    XFA. Form.Form1.sendForm.successMsg.Presence = "visible";
    };

    Steps to get the caveat:
    (1) open the attached pdf using Acrobat Reader.
    2) click on the button "confirm registration".
    (3) adobe reader gives a warning "cannot service information.

    The XFA pdf summary:
    It has two text fields. The button click event of the field made invisisble & field B are made visible.
    When opening the PDF in reader, he must not raise this warning message.

    My Efforts:
    (1) I can avoid this warning message by adding RRE to the pdf document, but I don't want to add RRE like I want to just change the user interface (no form submit required ir).

    I have a pdf of basic & I want to update the pdf file with the user-specific data. I have no obligation to make a form (no submission form is required)

    Please help me solve this problem.

    Hello

    I'm sure you can't script for this message to not appear. If opening a form that is not Reader Extended in Reader, as soon as the user interacts with the message form is wired to appear.

    I don't know what else is happening in the form. You're talking to a database when the user clicks on the button? The script: 'activateUser function' and "successMsg" implies that something is happening behind the scenes.

    Here is a summary of the deployment options for users of Acrobat/Reader: http://cookbooks.adobe.com/post_Using_LiveCycle_Forms_in_Acrobat_and_Reader-16518.html

    What if all you are going is by clicking on a button and showing / hiding two messages then, if you use Acrobat to create an AcroForm. So much is what you use buttons then the warning does not appear. If your two posts will have to be made until under form of images and used as background to the buttons. Once an AcroForm has an entry for example, textfield, then he recognizes her as a form and display the warning, but if it was just the buttons and then without warning.

    Good luck

  • 5.5 InCopy user cannot save to PDF low resolution

    The user complains that they can only save as pdf high resolution pdf not low resolution.

    Is there a way to do this in InCopy?

    Harlan

    InCopy users have not 'res pdf' control... it downsize images to 150 dpi, which I think is more a "res intermediary." Images that are less than 150ppi initially are left as is.

    The only way to get the images to a smaller resolution is to open the PDF file in Acrobat Pro and do a Save optimized As it or to reduce file size.

  • Cannot save form

    I have access to all the details at the moment, but please join me for a preliminary estimation with little data available:

    I want to find possible solutions before going to visit his machine in a few weeks.

    I have a user who opens a pdf form in Acrobat reader (I suppose that the most recent version).

    She fills out the form and tries to save him, but he leaves him not overwrite the file using the same name.

    If it uses save as and a different file name, it works.

    What could be keeping check on the original file?  She won't change the name.

    Give me your best estimates.  I don't have any more details right now.

    Thank you!

  • Dynamic PDF up to 200 images, the size of the pdf is greater, cannot save the data and images to the form

    Hi all

    My client would like to dynamic images up to 200 photos to my forms. It works very well. However, when I add images up to 35 images. I could not add images to shape more. Then I save data on the form. All the images and the data entered on the form are missing. I don't know why.

    If I add only 10 images - I can record data and images on the form. 15456 KB is the size of the pdf.  I was unable to add more photos or data on the form.

    There may be a problem the size of the pdf? How big can make a limited dynamic pdf?

    Can save us the information and images as much as we want?

    I spent two weeks to work and trying to figure out this problem. However, it is not successful.

    Help, please

    Cindy

    You must ensure that your users do not import large images.

    Therefore, you can use a script on the change event of an image field that checks the size of the data and warns the user if the file is too large.

    function formatNumber(number) {
        var num = number + '',
        x = num.split('.'),
        x1 = x[0],
        x2 = x.length > 1 ? '.' + x[1] : '',
        rgx = /(\d+)(\d{3})/;
        while (rgx.test(x1)) {
            x1 = x1.replace(rgx, '$1' + ',' + '$2');
        }
        return x1 + x2 + "KB";
    }

    var sizeLimit = 200, //allow upto 200KB images
      thisSize = Math.round((this.value.oneOfChild.value.length * 3 / 4) / 1024);

    if (sizeLimit > 0) {
      if (thisSize > sizeLimit) {
      xfa.host.messageBox("Note: With " + formatNumber(thisSize) + " the size of the imported image is greater that the recommended maximum of " + formatNumber(sizeLimit) + ".\nLarge images can cause a insufficent performance.\n\nIf possible, use images with the following recommended specs:\nFormat:\t\tPNG or JPG\nColor depth:\t8 Bit (higher is not supported)\nColor space:\tRGB (CMYK is not supported)\nFile Size:\t\t" + formatNumber(sizeLimit), "Recommended image size exceeded", 3, 0);
      }
    }

  • Other people cannot save the data

    I use Adobe Pro XI to create and edit PDF files. I have not any defined security and double checked all the settings. On my computer, it says that everything is allowed and no security. On a computer that uses the free version, the data entered in the form cannot be saved, only printed. What should I do so that these forms can be saved?

    If the person who reads your PDF file using Adobe Reader X or earlier, you must save the PDF in Acrobat to activate the backup drive.

    Choose file > save as other > Reader Extended PDF > activate tools plus (includes filling out form and save).

  • Allow the end user to save form entries

    I'm using Acrobat Pro8. I have created a direct form and want the final user (using Acrobat Reader) to be able to complete and save, print not only. Is this possible? I can't figure out how to save the doc so that this is possible. Thanks for any help w/his.

    Advanced > enable usage rights in Adobe Reader.

    Keep in mind there are strict limitations as to how many times these forms are used. If you think they're going to be filled by more than 500 people, you'll want to read the article 15 of the agreement of the user.
