Performance - Captivate 2 problems

Since I installed Captivate 2, I've known severe performance on my laptop problem. A video captured with the first version of Captivate (approximately 75 slides), when opened in Captivate 2, limited my ability to changes. I can perform changes on the first 20 - or so slides... IE - resize highlight boxes, change in length of strike etc... After the slide 20' th, I can no longer make these changes. It's as if the system is at maximum. I am obliged to break the video into separate files, not more than 20 slides each to continue with the installation. At the end that I can copy and past these slides back into a single file for editing. Someone at - it experieince that? You can provide any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance for your help.

I solved this problem by upgrading to the RAM on my computer. Thank you for all your help.

    I, two headphones listening separate bluetooth (Jaybird X2s and Airfix Matrix 2) this pair perfectly and work fine with my iPhone 6.

    The problem is that when I connect it to my Mac, performance system - audio and video, jump tanks lag mouse, slow individual tasks, etc.

    However, I see no increase in the pressure load of the CPU or memory in the activity monitor.

    I see no unusual chatter in the Console, only messages I expect:

    I contacted the support from Apple via Twitter and they recommended the usual Voodoo PRAM reset, but it was not effective.

    Any ideas?

    Now, I'm sure that this is caused by low battery on bluetooth devices to 99%.

    This is a problem that does not occur on my iPhone (even with a low battery), but the loading devices seems entirely solve the problem. Audio begins to jump and performance degrades again once the battery is less than 40% on the headphones.

    Well well... :-/

  • Performance of computer problem

    Hi all

    Last month, I found a problem with my laptop. I have a Sony Viao VPCEJ running on Windows 7, Intel Corei5 2.40 GHz.

    The question that began to occur more frequently is when I'm videos buffer on the internet or listen to the audio on the internet, either live or recorded after 30 seconds or so of the listening/veiwing my computer media will start to seem his hard face... it will start to freeze and buzzing consistent in tone with the audio and then catch up but this way continues which makes the whole frustrating issue. in some cases, I'm having a problem of crash report where I have to reload the page and it will work normally again for a short period of time until the process begins again. There is no update for adobe flash player 11.8 r800 which I a little printing is where this problem arises from reading the forums and I even completely deleted all the adobe and reinstalled to see if that would solve the problem which he did for nearly 24 hours until I noticed the issue once again.

    I also have this problem when you listen just my itunes on my laptop after a while...

    I have Norton Anti Virus and made complete and defragmented system checks, etc. using all available options to maintain the performance of my system and no viruses have been detected.

    It has gotten to the point where I have tried everything I can think off power and can only ask for all your advisor to help me solve this problem! I appreciate the help.

    My apologies if I missed any operating system information that you might need to know that I'm not sure how else to find information without assistance. If the above, you believe that this cannot be a problem with flash/shockwave or adobe then please advise :)

    Thank you

    Hello Yaqub K,.

    I was already running on Firefox and connected to my wireless router.

    I tried to see if the problem has continued on Internet Explorer, which he did when viewing media.

    I also tried to load in safe mode on and watch media on internet but in safe mode sound/volume is disabled since it was impossible to see if the show and the GAL/skip took place only in safe mode.

    Oddly enough I always update my system when I get notification next to my bar of the time and date at the bottom of my screen from Windows Update. I did check to make sure that everything was to date a week before your answer when the problem occurred and he said everything was up to date. However one day after you sent your message to me here, I received a Windows Update notification that there are 6 available updates I performed. I dare say, but since then I have not received all previous media watch an issues and physical memory on Windows Task Manager never descended below 1200 MB. I've noticed that the media always look a problem falls to about 300 MB of free space when the media is lagging and jumps. Why he does this, I don't know.

    But it seems that somehow maybe one of Windows Update has hopefully stopped my problem does not happen.

    Thanks to all who offered their support and I hope that the question does not return!

  • Adobe Captivate 9 problem of software Simulation with high density in Windows 10 display

    Running: Adobe Captivate 9 x 64

    In: Windows 10

    I only have a connection (me) which I assume is the same as the administrator I do not have any who else installed on this computer.

    When I click New-> 'Software of Simulation'-> 'create', I get a warning box stating 'Capture is denied because the high-density display has been detected. Please set 'DpiAwareness = 1' in AdobeCaptivate.ini and restart the application. »

    capture disallowed issue.JPG

    I went to drive Local (c)-> Program Files-> Adobe-> Adobe Captivate 9 x 64 and found the AdobeCaptivate.ini file and double click to open it.

    It opened in Notepad.

    I found the line "DpiAwareness = 0" as the fourth row from the bottom.

    I changed the value 0 to 1.

    notepad change.JPG

    I went to the file-> save

    Notepad no did me not the option to save a .ini file. It lists only the .txt option and will not let me save to this file type.

    I tried to save as "All Files".

    "Access denied" appears on my screen and won't let me save.

    notepad screenshot.png

    I can't save the file .ini for Captivate doesn't let me do this record ability of the screen. How can I fix it? Registration form is the #1 reason why I have this software. I don't have this problem before moving on to Windows 10. Also, is there a way to make suggestions to Adobe to enable this capability in a software update/fixes? Thank you!

    Hello

    I just edited the ini file on my Surface Pro 4, also running on Win10. You need administrator rights! It was my workflow:

    1. Find the ini file and copy it to somewhere else (I used the desktop computer)
    2. Rename the old file ini (for backup reasons) to AdobeCaptivateOld.ini
    3. Open the copy in Notepad, under the direction of this line and registered (will keep automatically extending ini).
    4. Moved the copy to the Captivate installation folder
    5. Started to Captivate

    You probably want to change the display of the monitor settings, so if you go to work in Captivate.

  • Captivate Audio problem

    I don't hear the audio of my lesson of Captivate when played back on mobile devices. There is also an entertaining play, at the center of the slide button. Is there a way to delete it. I used a non-responsive model and published it as a SWF and HTML.

    Hello

    Please try to follow the procedure in order to diagnose the problem you were experiencing - below

    1 - update 8 to 8.0.1 Captivate by starting Captivate and go to the Help menu > updates or can also download it from the link - https://www.adobe.com/support/captivate/downloads.html

    2. after and then publish HTML5 zip out of Captivate 8.0.1 (Quiz reporting enabled) and upload it to https://cloud.scorm.com/sc/guest/SignInForm

    3 - If you do not have an account, then click Sign up now and create your account.

    4 - once downloaded course then launch a course and test it on office/computer laptop and also try to access the same course on your Android mobile devices you use and see if it works.

  • The trial of Captivate installation problem

    When trying to install my trial version of Captive by mouse clicking on Capivate_7_x64_LS21.exe, I received the message:

    "Archive part of Adobe Captivate 7 (64-bit) file is missing."

    You need all parts in the same folder in order to extract Adobe Captivate 7 (64-bit).  You can download all the parts.

    I have the following files in the folder I created this PC > Documents > AdobeCaptivateTrialDownLoad

    Adobe_eLearning_Asset_LS21.exe

    Captivate_7_x64_LS21.exe Captivate_8_Voices_x64.zip

    Captivate_8_x64. LS21.exe

    I had no problem when I launched Adobe_eLearning_LS21.exe.  That seemed to work.  I stored the file resulting folder structure Adobe active eLearning on my desk.

    Hello

    In order to download 7 Captivate, you need to download two files (.7z and .exe) at the same place / folder. Once the two files download and then run the .exe file and it will extract first .7z file and then run the installation of 7 Captivate program.

    Adobe_eLearning_Asset_LS21.exe file is downloaded the characters you can use in your project to create the content of learning at large research.

    Captivate_7_x64_LS21.exe Captivate_8_Voices_x64.zip file is downloaded Neospeech voices that you can use to generate audio using the word agents in your course.

  • Performance-to-many problem (using the model of the FAQ)

    After reading "HOW TO: post a request for tuning SQL - model showing statement" I gathered:

    I have included some general information at the bottom of the post

    The following SQL statement has been identified as a bad performance. It takes ~ 160 seconds to run, but similar (indicated below first statement) SQL statements run in ~ 1 second.

    SQL taking 160 seconds:
    SELECT
    a.*
    FROM
    table_a a
    INNER JOIN table_a_b ab ON a.id = ab.media_fk
    WHERE
    ab.channel_fk IN (7, 1);
    SQL in ~ 1 second or less
    ...
    ab.channel_fk IN (7);
    Or:
    ...
    ab.channel_fk IN (6, 9, 170, 89);
    The purpose of the SQL is to return lines from table_a associated table_b (not in SQL) through the junction table table_a_b.

    H3. Backgroud

    There are many years my company made decided to maintain many-to-many relationships in our database using pipe delimited fields. An example of field value:
    '|ABC|XYZ|VTR|DVD|'
    Each delimited value refers to a unique "short" code TABLE_B (there is also a real digital foreign key to TABLE_B, which is what I use in the junction table). We are regularly using these columns with the next SQL style:
    ...
    WHERE
    INSTR(pipedcolumn, '|ABC|') > 0
    OR INSTR(pipedcolumn, '|XYZ|' > 0
    ...
    Appropriate indexes have been created over the years to make this process as soon a possible.

    We now have an opportunity to correct some of these errors of design and implementation of junction tables to replace the current field. Before that, we have decided to take a copy of a database to a client with the largest set of records and test. I created a new junction table:
    TABLE_A_B DDL:

        CREATE TABLE TABLE_A_B (
            media_fk NUMBER,
            channel_fk NUMBER,
            PRIMARY KEY (media_fk, channel_fk),
            FOREIGN KEY (media_fk) REFERENCES TABLE_A (ID),
            FOREIGN KEY (channel_fk) REFERENCES TABLE_B (ID)
        ) ORGANIZATION INDEX COMPRESS;

        CREATE INDEX C_M_INDEX ON TABLE_A_B (channel_fk, media_fk) COMPRESS;
    And the analysis on a pipe delimited field, populated by this new table.

    I then compared the performance of the following SQL:
    SELECT
    a.*
    FROM
    table_a a
    INNER JOIN table_a_b ab ON a.id = ab.media_fk
    WHERE
    ab.channel_fk IN (x, y, n); -- Can be Many Minutes

    --vs.

    SELECT
    a.*
    FROM
    table_a a
    WHERE
    INSTR(OWNERS,'|x|')    >0
    OR INSTR(OWNERS,'|y|')    >0
    OR INSTR(OWNERS,'|n|')    >0; -- About 1 second seemingly regardless
    When x, y, n are values that occur less frequently in the TABLE_A_B.CHANNEL_FK performance are comparable. However once the frequency of x, y, n increases, performance suffers. Here is a summary of the data CHANNEL_FK in TABLE_A_B:
    --SQL For Summary Data
    SELECT channel_fk, count(channel_fk) FROM table_a_b GROUP BY channel_fk ORDER BY COUNT(channel_fk) DESC;

    CHANNEL_FK             COUNT(CHANNEL_FK)
    ---------------------- ----------------------
    7                      780741
    1                      555407
    2                      422493
    3                      189493
    169                    144663
    9                      79457
    6                      53051
    171                    28401
    170                    19857
    49                     12603
    ...
    I noticed that whenever I use any combination of values that occur over approximately 800 000 times (i.e. IN (7, 1) = 780741 + 555407 = 1336148) then I get performance problems.

    I find it very difficult to accept that the old pipe delimited fields are a better solution (without taking into account any other than this search criterion!).

    Thank you for reading this far. I really look forward to suggestions on how to improve the performance of this statement.

    The following SQL statement has been identified as a bad performance. It takes ~ 160 seconds to run, but similar (indicated below first statement) SQL statements run in ~ 1 second.

    Keep in mind that the enforcement timeframe has elapsed is a poor metric to use for benchmarking of SQL. The reason is that the same workload does not mean that the same elapsed execution time.

    The workload for example shows a block of 1000 readings. There will be a difference marked by this workload reading data of the slow physical disks, or making this workload by reading data from memory in memory cache. And if it happens to be in memory or on disk is a kind of "random" thing (depends on many environment and factors of execution).

    Thus, rather than measure the elapsed time and use it to compare, rather compare actual workloads. A workload of 500 block reading is faster and better than a block of 1000 DSL - despite the fact that a point of elapsed time can show the 500 read being slow (e/s physical) block a block of 1000 to read (e/s logic).

  • Performance monitoring / identify problems

    Is there a technique to find and identify database performance problems without accessing the database?

    Thank you

    Well, if you are root on the server, you can connect to the database as SYSDBA using operating system authentication.

    Using operating system tools could be potentially useful, but usually in addition to the information in the database, not instead of it. You can see at the level of the operating system, for example, that the machine is constantly using 95% of the available CPU for long periods of time at night so we can conclude that the current processes of charge every night are generally CPU a bottleneck. Short throw material the problem (which may or may not make things better), however, there is no way to know that the problem is that there are a few poor query plans that are causing excessive CPU consumption and no way to fix the problem.

    There are a small number of issues of a bad system configuration that you can see in the level of operating system - for example, if you have 4 GB of physical RAM and the database is regularly using 8 GB of RAM and is constantly exchanging. You must Access the database (or at least the settings file) to change the database settings to use less RAM.

  • 6 creation of PowerPoint - Captivate flicker problem

    I use Adobe Captivate 6.0.1.240, and my employer (Idaho State) work on details with Adobe to pay for the subscription to the e-Learning Suite service.

    However, for now, I finished a project that was imported from PowerPoint 2010 and I have flicker happening at the beginning of any slides with animation.

    I understand that a fix is available for subscription customers who could solve this problem and make my version of Captivate 6.1.0.319.

    Is it possible that I can get a fix for this problem in advance?

    Have users click 'next' on each slide is not a good solution in this course. I really want the users to have the available TOC (which they won't if I import my PPT audio and save it as a .wmv). And I'll be hard-pressed to recreate the Captivate project before the date of entry into service.

    I must say that the only reason why it was created in PowerPoint is firstly that we predicted to deliver live via webinar and a last minute decision a convert me in e-learning.

    Thank you

  • Image in Captivate 6 problem

    Allows us to create software simulations, Captivate (which include screenshots, mouse movement, click on the squares and sometimes audio). After moving to Captivate 6, we had much wrong with how the slides and background images appear when the course is presented in preview and published. For example, the background of slide 4 pieces appear on blades, 17, 21, 31 and 38. Didn't check the timeline, no additional objects are included. Control the timing of the background on each slide, it turns to rest a single slide.

    Everyone knows about this problem? Does anyone know of a fix for this?

    Thank you

    Mary

    Note: The project has been on my drive C all the time that I worked on it.

    Hi Mary,

    Can you check if there is a powerpoint presentation used in this project?

    You can share a screenshot?

    Also, you can go - Edit - preferences - SWF size and quality - Custom - uncheck - Advanced project Compression and compress the SWF and republish your project.

    Check the results and try to compare browsers swicth.

    Thank you

  • Captivate 5: problems with Scripts Java - try to jump to a certain slides on different projects

    I have the code here I did searches for Captivate 5 access certain slide in a different project, this code has attempted to use in projects separately and simultaneously:

    function GetSlideParam() {}
    If (Window.Location.href.IndexOf('?) Slide =')! = -1) {}
    startIndex var = window.location.href.indexOf ('? = slide') + 7;
    var URL = window.location.href.toString ();
    var slideNumber = URL.substring (startIndex);

    If (slideNumber! = "| slideNumber! = undefined) {}
    setTimeout (function () {NavigateToSlide (slideNumber)}; 200);
    }

    }
    }

    function NavigateToSlide (requestedSlide) {}
    cpObj = document var. Captivate;
    cpObj.cpEISetValue ('cpCmndGotoSlide', requestedSlide - 1);
    cpObj.cpEISetValue('rdcmndResume',1);
    }

    GetSlideParam();

    Here is my file of URL success on in the properties of the button that was required to access some slides according to my research:

    (my project to move to) .htm? slide = 2

    Ultimately, he did not and just jump to slide 1 on the other project, no matter what I tried to do it or how I modified the script and properties button and drag the project... Help, please... Just thought that maybe you guys would know some scripts, it's why I ask you guys that no matter whether it's a Captivate because specialists Captivate couldn't answer my question being clueless on the script of this part.

    There is no 'secret code '. All is in your NavigateToSlide service management, and apply some logic. (The Javascript logic, to be precise.)

    The class variable is of type "string" , and I am 100% sure of this because you use the function 'substring' to create his argument. I know that because "substring" will always return a string, even when you give him a Boolean or integer (in these cases, it will return an empty string, but it is always a string - a little as the number 0 may represent "nothing at all", but it is always a number).

    Look in the NaviatgeToSLide function. What happens when you subtract 1 from one channel? ... UH. It depends on the language, really. Most of the languages report it as an error, but Javascript does not work (for a variety of reasons - if this bothers you, use Google to find out why).

    Now, assuming that the variable 'requestedSlide' contains a valid slide number and it is stored as a string, how you converting cela a real number? Using a pretty basic Javascript function, in fact:

    cpObj.cpEISetValue('cpCmndGotoSlide',parseInt(requestedSlide) - 1);

    Needless to say that I'm not 100% sure that this will fix the problem, because I can not test your code using InDesign.

  • SwishMax2 SWF in Captivate: _droptarget problems - PLS HELP

    I have a drag & drop SwishMax2 app that works well in Flash Player. He checks where you drop a clip (using this ._droptarget) and something inspiring where you drop.

    Running the version standalone SWF gives me the correct "dropzone" in slash notation: / truthsZone/truthsZone or/liesZone/liesZone.

    When I import the SWF file in Captivate 3, drop the clip and debug the value of sound "this ._droptarget", it always returns "/ contentShade_mc" as the string value, no matter where I drop.

    Does anyone have an idea why this is happening? Captivate is somehow interfere with the _droptarget value? Has anyone out there swf imported with drag & drop code in Captivate 3 and had similar problems?

    Thank you! Fred

    Solved the problem.

    Dome digging and it seems that _droptarget always returns all what it hits, from the main time (more high depth) - which is the clip of Captivate in this case. Used the method hitTest() instead, and it works fine now.

  • Internet Explorer + captivate 3 = problems

    Hello

    Sorry if this question has already been answered elsewhere in the forums. I have 3 Captivate and have done several projects captivate importantly screenshots. I've created an animation .swf into Flash, which has exported and imported some excitement in my captivate project on screenshots (it's an arrow pointing to a program). I finished my captivate project, published and put online.

    When you view the project in Firefox 5.0, all right.

    When you view the project in Internet Explorer 7.0, all right, except that the arrows are not displayed. .Swf animations do not appear.

    I think I did all right - the fact that Firefox displays animations mean that the captivate project is not having trouble finding the .swfs.

    Any suggestions? Thank you!

    * Edit: I actually found what the problem was. I had made changes and reloaded the page in IE but not clear cache and he was remembering the earlier versions. Thanks anyway!
