It's really great.

It is quite easy to change apps password.

Please follow the following steps:

1. stop the application services.
2. use the following FNDCPASS utility.

FNDCPASS apps/apps_old_pass 0 system/system_pass SYSTEM APPLSYS apps_new_pass

... Note the 0 (zero) and enters the pass system and applications. update accordingly.

3. run autoconfig on level apps.

4 starting the services.

Its done.

I have restored, data file and the RDBMS binaries. Database is running.
Now I want to run 'perl adcfgclone.pl dbTechStack', for execution, is required to keep the database and listener upward or
can it be executed while the listener to abd database are declining?

Hello

It is fine if you restored and recovered database already (you can do if sqlplus/rman executables work at destination).

To answer your question, to run 'perl adcfgclone.pl dbTechStack', you don't need to keep your database and listener upward, when using dbTechStack option adcfgclone does not connect to the database. However, it asks password apps but it's just the script adcfgclone code that requires the password in all cases.

Also, like you're speaking from the listener before running adcfgclone, I assume that you have configured listener manually (using a backup listener.ora and tnsnames.ora).

'perl adcfgclone.pl dbTechStack' go create/configure the listener for you and it begins at the end. It will fail if you start the listener beforehand.

So to summarize, you don't need to keep your DB running and you do not start the listener to run adcfgclone dbTechStack.

We followed Note 881505.1 : Oracle Applications Release 11i with Oracle 11 g Release 2 (Note of release before 19/05/11)

Not necessarily. However, you must apply this hotfix as it should (not for the issue of clone).

2. What are the side effects while applying the Patch 7456837 ?

None of the problems are reported after you apply this hotfix, just make sure you have all the patches of pre - req. applied.

You must have these utilities installed on the nodes of the target and make sure that the directory where they are located is set in the system path - please see (adcfgclone.pl is unable to locate all utilities in the path system - 'could not find all the utilities operating system required in the $PATH' error [397742.1 ID]) for more details.

When these parameters are saved and retrieved at run time? I would like to change certain default values for certain new values (i.e. the number of vertices) data on '7', after adding a few MON... Funny, but I couldn't find the source... of this model.

So, we can say that the source of this info is the file "addbhomsrc.xml" (as mentioned in my first reply) but it did not work for you because you hit a bug :)

Database has been recently improved 10.2.0.4 to 11.2.0.3 a machine of redhat5 successfully.

I had to manually configure the tnsnames.ora (nodename.domainname added), then start the listener. So ran

Perl level appsuser db = adbldxml.pl = apps appspasswd = and managed to generate a good contextfile

and restarted perl adcgclone dbTier to the estate.

* I also had to copy adbcrdb.sh from the source due to the

AC-00423: template file: /ora/oracle/proddb/11.2.0/appsutil/template/adcrdb.sh lack of file system.

I have a confusion please clear.
When we run on the test instance adcfgclone.pl after preclone.pl his request password apps on db level. Here, the apps password it is necessary to give the apps password identical prod past apps.
or
We can provide the password for different applications on the test for prod apps password instance.
I ask this question because currently I m adcfgclone.pl face to make my adcfgclone not complted with success.
This isn't my 1st time of the quick clone and I did many times successfully.
suddenly, I Micaela all the time when I give the same apps on the test instance password as prod passes apps for cloning is successfully done.
but currently I have going on of applications different mention of password apps prod during adcfgclone.pl (post clone step on the test instance). and it's because of the error.

Yes, you must give the same apps password as it was in the source. This is because during the phase of preclone created models have the APPS source password.

I found the solution, I'll save as follows

I go to /u01/orar12/db/tech_st/11.1.0/appsutil/template/ directory and give the permission 777 on it.

2 - I renamed the directory under /u01/orar12/db/tech_st/11.1.0/appsutil/clone clone_1 clone

3 - I have re - run the command.

It is completed.

adcfgclone.pl dbTier gets error
Hello all I did the cloning of the steps on DB and apps. preclone completed successfully on db and apps and autoconfig and I also recently created appsutil. I did everything to make the clone of post succeed .everything is good just don't post clone.

Hello

I also had a question is autoconfig to be run on the source (the two DB & APPS) before running preclone scripts?

It is not a must to run AutoConfig on nodes sources, however, I wouldn't recommend it impoverish (I used to make me run before preclone).

What is the impact of AutoConfig race / is not not running before the preclone scripts?

Depends on what changes have been made recently on the nodes of the source.
