  1. the question of whether I can use existing xml target file method or direct method when cloning a post?

  You can do both. If you do not plan to change the DEV instantiate details (port number, directory names, SID,... etc) and then use the existing context files.

  2. because I'm refreshing will the node (both source & target in the same server), I get in a 'Port already in use question' I need to reuse already configured port numbers.

  Not as you want to stop the DEV instance until you refresh it, if none of the ports will be in use.

  3. how to Port serial numbers? I suppose that there is a rule of thumb and a Metalink note for this but can't remember the ID. MetaLink

  Option 2: What backup should be restored? Do you mean restore backup DB with APPL_TOP, COMM_TOP & OA_TOP? We need to copy anything else here? and do we not have any document to this option?

  Restore all files from node level database and the application without exception.

  Option 3: To copy the files, we need to copy db_top, data_top, appl_top, comm_top and oa_top. We need to copy anything else here? and do we not have any document to this option? I hope we can run level dbTier/apps adcfgclone giving the source xml files.

  Copy all the files mentioned in the doc of rapid Clone. If you chose to go with this approach, then you need not file context source as quick Clone will create new ones for you (must be identical to the source ones).

  It's really great.

  It is quite easy to change apps password.

  Please follow the following steps:

  1. stop the application services.
  2. use the following FNDCPASS utility.

  FNDCPASS apps/apps_old_pass 0 system/system_pass SYSTEM APPLSYS apps_new_pass

  ... Note the 0 (zero) and enters the pass system and applications. update accordingly.

  3. run autoconfig on level apps.

  4 starting the services.

  Its done.

  Hello all I did the cloning of the steps on DB and apps. preclone completed successfully on db and apps and autoconfig and I also recently created appsutil. I did everything to make the clone of post succeed .everything is good just don't post clone.

  If you wish, you can try the clone of post on appstier on target

  on the other
  Add your test host name in the lists of guests on production sqlnet and run autoconfig on two levels, run preclone on two levels
  Make sure that the operating system installer is good user, host name, network configuration
  Copy the required files from source to test
  Perform the steps in the post on the target clone

  I have a confusion please clear.

  When we run on the test instance adcfgclone.pl after preclone.pl his request password apps on db level. Here, the apps password it is necessary to give the apps password identical prod past apps.

  or

  We can provide the password for different applications on the test for prod apps password instance.

  I ask this question because currently I m adcfgclone.pl face to make my adcfgclone not complted with success.

  This isn't my 1st time of the quick clone and I did many times successfully.

  suddenly, I Micaela all the time when I give the same apps on the test instance password as prod passes apps for cloning is successfully done.

  but currently I have going on of applications different mention of password apps prod during adcfgclone.pl (post clone step on the test instance). and it's because of the error.

  Yes, you must give the same apps password as it was in the source. This is because during the phase of preclone created models have the APPS source password.

  If necessary, you can switch later using FNDCPASS.

  I want to know if adcfgclone on dbTier and appsTier can we use different SID at the adcfgclone?

  Suppose that my production is PROD and I want to keep the target as a TEST so I use the SID with a different name? or is it necessary to use the same SID as the source environment?

  Database has been recently improved 10.2.0.4 to 11.2.0.3 a machine of redhat5 successfully.

  I'm now trying to clone the database for a redhat 6.

  I had to manually configure the tnsnames.ora (nodename.domainname added), then start the listener. So ran

  Perl level appsuser db = adbldxml.pl = apps appspasswd = and managed to generate a good contextfile

  and restarted perl adcgclone dbTier to the estate.

  * I also had to copy adbcrdb.sh from the source due to the

  AC-00423: template file: /ora/oracle/proddb/11.2.0/appsutil/template/adcrdb.sh lack of file system.

  I am getting below error when running APPS pane adcfgclone

  ERROR: Unable to set the classpath

  / corp_ex1/DRPM/drpmcomn/clone/bin /... /jlib/classes111.zip: missing

  First create a new context for the cloned system file.

  The program will ask you for information on the new system:

  ERROR: creation of context not completed successfully.

  Please check for errors in the /tmp/adcfgclone_29475.err file

  I copied the classes111.zip from IAS_HOME to COMMON_TOP. Now I'm getting below error
