Permissions with grilled bread 12

I am doing a picture of disc using 12 toasts with El Capitan and tells me that I don't have the necessary permissions to do this. The Toast program seems to burn Ok. as I just used it to burn a disc of CD data without problem. Someone at - he has an idea of what the problem may be...

The problem could be that Toast 12 is not completely compatible with El Capitan. Toast 14 is supposed to be.

  • When is Adobe going to solve the problem of permissions with the Preferences folder?

As for a LOT of OTHER people, I've been making ridiculous crash at the launch of my adobe software. It takes 1 metric eternity to finish "initializing MediaCore. When AE finally opens the warning "QuickTime is not installed on this system.

The answer I've seen the new is:

with preferences or preferences corrupt folder permissions problem

Still another cause of After Effects and communicating not QuickTime is a problem with the permissions for the files in the After Effects preferences directory. To force After Effects to rebuild preferences directory and set the permissions correctly (as well as reset the corrupted preferences), quit After Effects, remove the folder next, then restart After Effects:

    • (Mac OS) [drive] /Users/ [username] / Library/Preferences/Adobe/After Effects
    • (Windows) [Player] Users [username] AppData/Roaming/Adobe/After Effects

The question can be also with permissions for a folder outside of the folder permissions of After Effects. This seems to be particularly the case in Mac OS. To ensure that all Adobe applications can write in their preference files, set the whole of Adobe and content preferences folder to be read/write, not just read-only:

    • (Mac OS) /Users/ [username] [drive] / Library/Preferences/Adobe /.
    • (Windows) \AppData\Roaming/Adobe\ \Users\ [username] [drive]

but that won't work because I can't change the settings of these records, and from what I read there is no shortage of others who can't.

No matter what I windows does not allow me to change any file in my files, users must have read/write permissions.

However, it seems that my adobe programs don't is loading incorrectly unless I have change permissions to read/write. I think that we all pay a little too much for this software to expect to find a way to hack our own computers to get the programs work.

To do some kind of fix, soon. Maybe to be able to move the adobe preferences folder to another directory? IDK...

I know I'm not alone here... maybe a bit of help? anyone?

Well, just to test things, disable it and try to re-run AE.

  • insufficient permissions with get-vmguestnetworkinterface error

    Hello

I'm experimenting with powercli on an ESX 4.0.0 environment VSphere client v5.0 and Powercli 4.1 with VIX 1.10.0.12331.

I want to automate a process of cloning by script. In the test I connect to my server for vsphere with Connect-VIServer-Server xxxxxxx-xxxxx xxxxx password user-control. So I try a command Get-VMGuestNetworkInterface - VM xxxxxxxx to the request for information about the network settings of a virtual machine that is running Windows Server 2008.

The command then prompts both a HOST and password id and a GUEST id and password. The host id and the neck appears to be for any host ESX is currently the virtual machine. It is a pain in the ass that I don't have an account for each ESX, just my login vsphere host - who has administrator rights, all that I have to manually clone, change settings, etc.

I have seen documentation that suggests Powercli with VIX allows access to the guest operating system with VM without requiring a connection to the host ESX Server, for example:

http://www.VMware.com/support/Developer/PowerCLI/PowerCLI50/html/Invoke-VMScript.html said regarding the commands get-vmguest:

"Please enter the password to use for authentication with the host country. You must specify credentials to the host only if the version of vCenter Server or ESX you authenticate you with prior to 4.0 is, or you have installed the version VIX is prior to 1.10. "
But I am always asked to connect to a host when I run the command.
I work for a 3rd party and it's a big ask to ask the individual ESX host connections, and I don't know what level of permissions they need.
Can someone tell what I am doing wrong? Why powercli cannot use vsphere authentication, that I have already connected with connect-vi? I agree that I need to provide a password for the guest, but attached to individual ESX hosts operating system seems redundant seems redundant.

    Thank you!

  • El Capitan permissions bad for lib with multiple users

On my Mac with multiple users and running El Capitan, I encountered a problem with an application (GoGlobal) failed to start with "errno = 13", which is a problem of permissions with usr/local/lib /.

I determined that on Yosemite, usr/local/lib was owned by root and permissions: drwxr-xr-x. However, on El Capitan, usr/local/usr / local / lib lib is owned by one of the nicks (random?) and has permissions drwx-, which is the source of the errno = 13.

I got around the problem by chmod 755 to lib /, but I fear that a future update will reset these permissions impassable previous values. Please correct these settings in install and update routines.

GoGlobal isn't a request to Apple. You can send your message to the developer, who develops not only the Application itself, but the installation script that puts in place of its components.

  • The permissions of folder/drive Windows 8 will not work with the Administrators group?

I read through some of the other questions on the etc folder permissions, but don't really know the answer to this question, or I do not understand what has been the response.

I did a new install of Windows 8 and have a few records that I stored stuff I now want to use it as well with Windows 8.  As with the other threads, I was getting access denied error etc and have not defined administrators group/full control permissions, but I still couldn't access readers, and my connection is type administrators.

When I take the disk permissions with my local user rather than to the Administrators group, but, it works very well, even if no one else can access the drives.

I am confused on how I can make this work for administrators rather than my specific user account, thank you very much!

If you know that you are a member of the ADMINISTRATORS group, then just browse the classic desktop and open Windows EXPLORER (WINDOWS KEY + E). Right CLICK on the C DRIVE, and then choose PROPERTIES. Click the SECURITY TAB, and then click the entry of ADMINISTRATORS (computername\administrators). Verify that the checkbox under ALLOW checked for each entry. If it not to hit EDIT and tick all the boxes ALLOW. Then click OK and OK. Check the settings for the SYSTEM account.

If the first step does not work, try this step only. If it does not, click ADVANCED on the SECURITY tab. In the PERMISSIONS tab highlight of ADMINISTRATORS, choose CHANGE PERMISSIONS. Ensure that all are checked in the BASIC PERMISSIONS area. The menu is APPLIES to drop down, make sure it is set on this FOLDER, subfolders and FILES. Click OK, OK, and then APPLY.
  • Question about the migration of mass of files and permissions

    Hello

I'm moving 2TBs of files from one external hard drive to another, but every time that I try to do a file mass transfer from one day to the next it eventually fail due to permissions for some files. I looked at the files on that he objected and I read and write permissions on them, as you would expect.

What can I do to fix this?

Try to run repair permissions and ACLs on your record. A repair permissions with disk utility does not have anything in your folder. Boot from your recovery partition now command-keys R in the menu utilities launch Terminal. In the Terminal, type: resetpassword , then press return.  (Note: you won't be reset password)

Click the icon for the hard drive of your Mac at the top. In the drop down menu below, select your home folder. At the bottom of the window restore Home Directory Permissions and ACLs. Then, click on the Reset button. When the prompt returns to the command line, you can leave out Terminal.

  • Facilities clean and permissions problems

One of the old pieces of advice if you had an insoluble problem of the Mac was to do a clean reinstall / remove and reinstall of the operating system. I wonder if it's still good advice,

I just bought a new Mac Mini running El Capitan and started having problems with it, and the steps of troubleshooting was not using the Migration Wizard, but just manually drag my documents created by the user since the backup disk, Time Machine.

Unfortunately, when I tried, I had problems with terrible permissions with my files, with the Mac, forcing me to enter my password to the user EVERY TIME I tried to move, rename, delete, change, re-register or possibly to copy my files. Of course, it would be a nightmare with thousands of files created over the years.

Unfortunately, when I called Apple support, I got conflicting advice on how to solve the problem. A counselor said I should hang out all my files from my backup of documents directly to the My Documents folder and do the correspondence with the library, Applications, movies, music, Photos, etc., then repair permissions on my HD. Another Advisor gave a totally different view.

I know the permissions is a basic UNIX functionality, but it is something that has always puzzled me. So I was wondering if maybe old advice th to manually restore your files are no longer valid, and if I should just trust the Migration Wizard in the future and hope for the best?

Reset user - file property See post by Linc Davis

You may need to restore the permissions on your user account. To do this, start on your recovery partition (hold down the command and R during startup) and open Terminal from the Utilities menu. In the Terminal, type: 'resetpassword' (without the), press return, and then select the admin user. You do not have to reset your password. Click the icon of your Mac hard drive at the top. In the list box below, select the user account that has problems. At the bottom of the window, you will see a box labeled restore Home Directory permissions and ACLs. Click the button to reset there. The process takes a few minutes. When you're finished, restart.

  • Cannot access files on hard disk on windows xp, after I worked with it on win 7.

Cannot access files on external hard drive on windows xp, after that I worked with him on Victory 7.I can see the file, but he says "is not accessible. access is denied. " Can someone help me?

As you can guess, this is a permissions problem.  Here, it makes a difference if you have XP Home or Pro you have to safe boot mode to change permissions in the House.

My crystal ball says that your external drive is formatted with the NTFS file system.  When you connected to Windows 7 (or any other computer besides), the files have been added that this user permissions apparently understood that only Win 7 has access to.  There are several ways to handle this...

Is to save on all your files and reformat the external hard drive with a FAT32 file system and then support files.  You will have no problems of permissions with FAT32, but you can't have any higher than 4 GB single file either.

Another way is as an administrator, to 'Ownership' of all the files on the disk
"How appropriate a file or a folder in Windows XP"
but this could get old if the drive moves back.

Yet another approach is to give "Everyone" full access to everything on the drive.  This may or may not protect against new folders or files added, but may be worth a try:
As a user administrator, open a command window:
    Start-> Run-> "cmd".
    Then, enter the command:
    CACLS E:\/t/e/c/g everyone: F
(where I am assuming that your external drive is mounted as "E:" - change of real player)

I hope that something more top is useful...

    Hello

    When the issue occurred?

Follow the steps below and check if the problem persists.

    Step 1:

I suggest take you the drive and check if you are able to access the drive.

To do this, follow these steps:

    a. click the drive you want to take control and then click Properties.

    b. click the Security tab and then click OK on the security message (if one appears).

    c. click Advanced and then click the owner tab.

    d. in the name list, click your user name, click Administrator, if you are logged in as administrator, or click the Administrators group. If you want to take ownership of the contents of the folder, select the Replace owner of subcontainers and objects of the box.

    e. click OK and then click Yes when you receive the following message is displayed:

You are not allowed to read the contents of directory folder name. Do you want to replace the the directory permissions with permissions granting you full control?

All permissions will be replaced if you click Yes.

Note folder_name is the name of the folder you want to take charge.

Click OK, and then reapply the permissions and security settings that you want for the folder and its contents.

    Reference:http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-vista/What-are-permissions

    Step 2:

Run check disk from the command line instructions. For more information, see the following TechNet articles:

    Chkdsk

    http://TechNet.Microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb491051.aspx

    http://TechNet.Microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc730714%28WS.10%29.aspx

Note: If bad sectors are detected when running disk utility to check and ifattempt recovery of bad sectors is verified when checking the disk for errors, data in the bad sector can be lost while trying to recover bad sectors.

I updated from XP PC to a laptop running Windows 7. I'm trying to transfer files from my XP on my laptop. The files have access denied because of incorrect file permissions. Yes, it will change the permissions of all files, more subfolders and

I have a two drive system. C:\ for programs, E:\ for data. After a failed win7 - win10 update, I was not is no longer able to use my OS on my C:\ drive. My drive E:\ already had an OS installed win7 so I went to use my E:\ drive as my OS drive (a parameter of the motherboard is the E:\ drive a C:\ drive).

Now I have folders and files with an owner: unknown, unknown + user group group. There are several questions I've seen change permissions: explore-> properties-> Security-> username, and change or advanced.

    • Change the root folder is possible but does not propagate properly. Some files give the message diagnostic «permissions on are incorrectly categorized which can cause some ineffective entries» When this happens the popup Edit does not have a new username and the advanced pupup shows certain permissions with "Traverse folder / e...» ».
    • In the security popup open edition opens another pop-up window without a diagnosis, but the Add button is gray and inaccessible.
