We try to use windows live movie maker, but the files are mp4. do I need to buy a separate program to convert the files, or windows 7 has the capacity to perform the conversion?

Windows 7 can not convert anything.  You need an application that will do the conversion.

  • issue of converted MP4

    Hi all

I know that final cut pro x can read the MP4.

but the problem is that the editor we cooperate with use final cut pro 7.

So I have to do all the mp4 converted to PORES422 without lost quality.

and I know little about final cut pro 7... (I understand that this is area of discussion for X, I'm sorry, but I'm powerless)

I have "a lot of" MP4 to convert. (we use sony A7S when shooting)

We know how can I convert mp4 to Pores422 with more efficiency AND without loss of quality?

("convert all video" will lose quality!) "I think that maybe there will be some converter for professional use...?)

and I wondered how professional post production company convete the file from different codec... ideas?

some advise or tutorial will help me a lot.

    Thank you very much!

    Lucy

You can use the compressor or MPEG Streamclip to batch convert to ProRes format.

    Original title: Windows Media Player
I converted a clip video .mov .avi and inserted in Windows Movie Maker, but it's only playing as sound and no video, why?

There may be some compatibility issues with .avi files...
try to convert the .mov file to .wmv format before
    import into Movie Maker.

There are many programs that can do conversions...
The following freeware is an example...:

(FWIW... it's always a good idea to create a system)
Restore point before installing software or updates)

    Format Factory
    http://www.videohelp.com/tools/Format_Factory

Next, after the download and installation of Format
Factory... you can open the program and
left click on the toolbar, the "Option" button and
"Select an output folder to" / apply / OK.
(this is where you find your files after they)

Drag and drop your clips on the main screen .mov...

  • Rotation of a video clip and convert mp4 to avi

    Hello

    Just 2 quick questions...

I'm looking to convert a mp4 to avi file, the program that I usually use to convert files does not recognize the mp4, which is the best way to go about it

also, I have some video clips, I add to my production of Prime Minister. They are turned sideways. Is someone can please tell me how I can get to turn a video clip for what is the right way?

    Thank you!!!

Your best bet is to use Quicktime Pro as suggestions Hunt. There are some free programs like Super. It can convert MP4 video to AVI format, but if convert you to DV - AVI only to exports to a PAL 720 x 576 image size (with the other AVI formats, you can select the NTSC 720 x 480 standard) but you can set the frame for the NTSC standard rate. It can be downloaded from the following link. Scroll to the bottom of the page and ignore the ad AVS Converter until you get to 'Download the Super installation file': http://www.erightsoft.com/S6Kg1.html

In Super go to "Select the output container" and scroll down and select AVI, you can then select the codecs video and audio output from the adjacent dropdown lists.

Otherwise you can try MPEG Streamclip, it can convert MP4 to DV - AVI (with the frame size) but it does not handle a wide range of formats mp4 as Super. http://www.squared5.com/SVIDEO/MPEG-Streamclip-Mac.html

To rotate your video in Premiere Elements, select the clip on the timeline and then click on the properties icon just above the timeline (or right-click on the clip and select properties), item properties panel opens. Then select query and you will find the rotation control there.
