Phone running out of storage space

I've had my Droid for 3 months.  Today it tells me that I am low on storage space.  My phone says I have 105MB of storage used in my gmail account. The only thing that technical support can tell me to do is to "clear my Inbox gmails."  Of course, deleting them on the phone also clears in my online master account - I don't want to do.  Any ideas how to reduce the size of my account gmail on my Droid while erasing is not the emails from my gmail online account?  What are the two products of Google... it has got to be a good answer!  Thanks for any help... Doug

Did you by any chance try to remove data such as I described in my post?  I don't know if it will help, but it won't hurt anything either.  I tried on my phone and it does not remove the account or something like that.  It takes a little while for messages to recharge, but that's all that happens.  It's like resetting the account.  I hope this helps.

    Hello

Thanks for posting in the HP Support forum!

What is your availability/capacity of the HDD/SSD? May be mean you gigabytes by writing that "my current storage is 220 MB and only have 8.5 MB remaining for the updates." - could you elaborate? Is this HP Elitebook 850 and Win 7?

You can use the free space on the software disc such as the large TreeSize > > http://www.jam-software.com/treesize_free/

He can tell you what kind of things you have on your computer use the most space.

You can run programs such as CCleaner (www.piriform.com) or

You can move personal files (e.g. documents, pictures, videos etc.) on an external device (e.g. USB or SD memory card). Please, do not directly move/cut files programs or windows important things unless you're 100% sure what you are doing.

  • Running out of disk space and the need to remove the old clichés

I recently joined a company owning an ESXi 4.1.0 (build 260247) server with 4 500GB data warehouses.  One of our servers main database (Ubuntu/Postgres), which uses only one of the data warehouses (4 datastore) has 21GB 465 GB free.  It is currently configured to store all settings, storage and snapshots on this unique data store.  The hard disk is configured as thin.

The virtual machine has crashed a few days ago, when it ran out of disk space.  We removed a small second partition (which was in the same data store) and cleared space, but we receive extremely weak with only 5% of the data left store.

I have read many posts and wanted to get the opinion of this community before I move forward.   Because we do not use the 4.1 last I heard some issues using the option "Remove all" that it may require more disk space and others recommended to manually delete snapshots from the closest to the base, but it seems that in this case it can merge the snapshot with the original without freeing all the space.

We are not all of the snapshots and I'm fine with delete them, but I assure you we will not run out of disk space in the process and complicate things further.

It is best to manually remove these snapshots starting with the one closest to the base or by using the "Delete All" (or something else)?  In addition, if we go with the manual option, is it possible with the virtual machine upward or do we need to close first?

    Current snapshots:

    snapshot1.jpg

Current data warehouses associated with VM (really unique using the 4 data store)

    Welcome to the community,

After the screenshot, your virtual disk 'arrow_db1.vmdk' stocked thickness!

With the thick disc service and ESXi 4.1 (the problem with "Delete All" is related to version 4.0), you can run safely "Delete All". However, due to low disk space, I recommend that do you with the virtual machine off. If turned on, a new temporary snapshot will be created, which - according to the workload of the virtual machine - can grow and fill in the data store.

Due to the size of snapshot and depending on the speed of your storage space, you need to plan a few hours well downtime.

  • My Macbook Air is running out of storage

My Macbook Air is running out of storage, my photos are in addition, is there any kind of external storage which allows me to transfer my photo library to her and held still as I have on my macbook?

Pretty much any external hard drive will allow you to transfer your Photos and iTunes libraries for use directly off the drive.  Here's how to iTunes and I'm sure it's similar for the Photos.

Page 6 of Apple, meticulous instructions step by step: how to move your iTunes library to a new computer - https://support.apple.com/HT204318 it is convenient if you think that all your materials are not in the standard location.

My resume in a sentence if you use preferences by default iTunes settings: copy the folder integer iTunes (and to ensure that all of its subfolders and files) intact at the other disk, hold down the option/alt key (shift on Windows) keys to start iTunes and on request to select a library select iTunes Library.itl file in the copied folder (open a different iTunes library file or create a new one - https://support.apple.com/HT201596).

Try resetting your device. This will not erase your data stored on that device.

    • Press and hold the sleep/wake button
    • Press and hold the Home button
    • Press and hold both buttons until the display turns off and on again with the Apple logo on the subject.

Alternatively, you can go to settings - general - reset - Reset all settings

If that doesn't work, restore your device to factory settings. Please note that this will delete the data on your device.

  • my computer repeat myself that I am running out of disk space...

my computer repeat myself that I am running out of disk space on local disk (c :)) I tried defragmenting it and even tried to delete some of my programs.) I don't know what else to do! can someone please help? Thanks it will be greatly appreciated!

Get a larger drive - car price reached remarkably.

Defrag won't give you any more space - and in fact, you can not defrag if there is less than 15% free space.

You can run Disk Cleanup (start > run > cleanmgr > OK)
You can reduce the size allocated for the restoration of the system to about 1 GB (right click on desktop > properties > system restore > settings)
You can disable hibernation (if you don't use it) (right click on an empty spot on the desktop > properties > screen saver > power > Hibernate)
You can disable the indexing of the drive, which will also speed up your computer a bit (http://lifehacker.com/031440/turn-off-indexing-and-speed-up-windows-xp)
You can reduce the size of your Internet browser cache (depending on the browser that you use)

But none of these answers you will earn really large amounts of space for very long.  The term solution time is a bigger hard drive.

In the meantime, download and run JDiskReport, that will show you graphically what files take up more space.

  • Catastrophic failure Ox8000FFFF and running out of disk space on FACTORY_IMAGE (d :))

Whenever I save my files to a disc, it is said that he has been completed successfully, and then later, I get a message that says Ox8000FFFF of catastrophic failure and I am running out of disk space on FACTORY_IMAGE (:)) IM Windows Vista. I'm not a novice in computers, I am a computer expert. When I pull my FACTORY_IMAGE folder, I don't know what are the files, so I'm aftaid of monkey with them. I deleted the old and useless files, but whenever I run the backup, I get the message of Ox8000FFFF of catastrophic failure later. I can only assume that the backup and running out of disk space on FACTORY_IMAGE are related. I've seen corrections on the Net for this problem, but I'm afraid to try them. Any help would be appreciated.

    Hello

Your recovery Partition was photographed on your hard drive during the production of your computer by the manufacturer for all of these reasons.

    1. to reinstall Vista from in the case of a failure of the system, based on individuals or the keys at startup.

F10 or Alt + F10 or F11 are a couple of different manufacturers use sequences.

You will need to ask your manufacturer for proper sequence.

    2. to make the recovery disks on if your drive hard breaks down, so that you can then reinstall the operating system on a new hard drive.

Also ask them how to make records.

Your D: Recovery Drive is should not be used for backups, defragmented, etc..

Should be backups on an external hard drive or DVD; external hard drive preference.

To resolve the problems that have arisen with the recovery D: Partition, you will need to contact the manufacturer of your computer to remove all that has been added to it.

    See you soon.

  • D recovery running out of disk space

I guard thinks that Im running out of disk space on the D collection, however it only give me the option to empty the trash, if I said to clean files, nothing seems to happen.  This message is coming every few minutes and driving me crazy! any ideas, anyone please?

Hi Ken, thank you for your response, I did what you recommended and found quota was not active, so disk check and who told me that everything was ok, I saw I was able to 'compress' disk space so I (tentavely!) tried this and with "compress" and "index this drive for a quick search" check now, I used space reading 4.92 and 2.75 GB free which is more than I had before (it was completely blue) now I have a little pink!
Do you think I should just continue doing this regularly?  I'm sure that my SIMS game might be the cause, but do not know why, in any case thank you for your help at least makes me watch the places I was a little leery to go!
Once again thank you very much and have a nice holiday

I tried to backup my C drive on my drive G (more than one terabyte available) and the backup fails saying it is running out of disk space.   Backup usually stops around 35% give or take advantage of 5%.  Backup size is 64.2 still 962 GB free.  I let windows determine settings.  I tried different setting adding and removing what is recorded.  Nothing fixes the problem.  He always says

  • I'm running out of disk space

    Hello everyone!

I have a very annoying problem that I faced today and I can't solve. I'm running out of disk space, and that it is nonsense because I just formatted the computer just 2-3 days ago and I have a lot of space in ut (~ 50 GB) and free to ~ 800 MB and it goes down for hours. The size of my file is ~ 28.3 GB and I had to have ~ 20.5 free space. I deleted all the unnecessary and temporary files and used a program cleaner (CCleaner) and other tricks but does not work. I don't know what I have to do. Please I need immediate assistance!

    Greetings,

    Raul

Thanks for the reply! It looks like a volume snapshot (restore point) takes a lot of space. Access control configuration\systeme and Security\System and open System of Protection, then remove all the restore on the C: drive

  • Hi all, I need to understand why my VMs will always grow so big they eventually run out of disk space, and then I can't resize them...

Hi all, I need to understand why my VMs will always grow so large they finally running out of disk space, and then I can't resize them... see the screenshots below:

    Screen Shot 2014-08-26 at 12.16.56 AM.png

So all my virtual machines are that looks like it's finally the 5 GB goes down to zero, cannot update things like Dropbox and all sorts of other things start to break. I then, go here and try to expand, but I get this error on machines to young readers:

    Screen Shot 2014-08-26 at 12.18.02 AM.png

I think I need at least as much GBs on the system, as is the virtual machine? Done my MBA and smaller machines, is not possible. But when I move the virtual machine to a bigger machine like my iMac, with a big disc of TB, I can do the resizing. Is it the way it is supposed to work? Perhaps, I do not have this right...

    thx for all the advice!

Yep, that's the way it is supposed to work.  The close, move it to the iMac, expand drive, then arrest him and bring him back.  Make sure you choose "move" not "copy" when migrating to avoid triggering the activation of windows.

Regarding what is eating space inside the virtual machine, you will have to consider for the guest OS for more information (which are not a matter of merger).

To free up space on the host, with closing VM, go to settings, click on the circle of little tiny refreshment next to the space bar, then if she said cleaning recommended, go into general and make a clean virtual machine.
