  I received a call from someone claiming to be from Microsoft. He said that one of my computers was not related to obtaining updates and I had to fix it. He said that does not connect would cause my computer down.
  I did not trust the person at all, it provided no evidence that he was from Microsoft when asked and he kept trying to get me out on my computer for him.

  Actually one of my computers has been freezing / crashing a lot but I just assumed it was because it is now old enough for a laptop. Is everything "that connects only not updates, causing accidents" actually a thing? Or I was right not to trust this person?

  and there is a very strong possibility that the security of your computer has been compromised as you gave them remote access

  If you perform banking operations of the internet etc I suggest you also change passwords etc.

  of course, everything is in order, I recommend you to reinstall the operating system for more safety

  Here are the different methods to reinstall vista:

  Contact the computer manufacturer and ask them to send you to vista recovery disks to reinstall the operating system back as it was when you bought it

  they do it for a nominal cost of $

  also ask them if you have a recovery partition on your hard drive to get back to the way you bought

  you would normally press F10 or F11 or Alt + F10, 0 at startup to start the recovery process according to the manufacturer

  Ask them of the exact key sequence

  or borrow a microsoft dvd vista

  Make sure that you borrow the correct 32-bit or 64-bit microsoft dvd to your computer

  they contain all versions of vista

  This is the product key that determines which version of vista is installed

  Save all data, because it will be lost, do the above

  Hacking the password of Windows XP is really not so difficult - but no one can tell you directly how do it here (but anyone with the ability to enter words in a Google search could find it.)
    
  Given that they even did that - I suggest you call all financial institutions and warn them that you may have been compromised and put show them on your credit cards and bank accounts.  Change all your passwords (local and remote) immediately.  Reset all router routers/switches/wireless hardware you default and configure back with new passwords as well.

  A few hours earlier, I received a phone call from someone claiming to be from Microsoft. TO NUMBER A BLOCKED (no caller ID).  Said that they were receiving messages from my computer it has been infected by a virus. I ran the two Windows Defender and Malwarebytes, and as MANY say that NOTHING malicious was detected.

• Received scam call from someone who claims to be from Microsoft, was my system compromised?

  Last week my father received a phone call from someone claiming to be from Microsoft. They asked him to press CTRL and I think that the flag at the same time icon. Now, this week, his computer does not work correctly... He said is to show Arab or he is just encrypted and it cannot get on anything or do anything

  at best, microsoft only responds to requests for information made by the people.

  Try running a system restore point on a date prior to the boot problem.

  It seems that there was a rash of these types of calls that flow. DON'T spend any time on the phone with them. It's a big scam and they are phishing for your personal information. DO NOT do anything they say, or give them all vital data.

• Scam: received a call from an Indian guy claiming to be from Microsoft

  I just got a call from an Indian guy who claims to be from Microsoft.  When I questioned him ask for a web address and phone number to verify, also told me that they couldn't give me that because of the data protection. The call showed up on my phone as our area, so I was suspicious immediately.  The guy pointed out that whenever we went on the internet/email it was malicious spyware software download and it needed to be sorted.  When I probed more, saying I didn't, he said he was calling for the United Kingdom.  It changed so his tune to say he was calling the part G Tech Support from Microsoft.

  I guess it's a scam, but I am very concerned that some people may believe this story!  I see that you have posted questions on your Web site regarding this company and it doesn't seem to be a scam, it is why, could you become aware on your website that it is a scam and place it in a very visible.
