Photo auto rotation to importation into LR3?

Hello!

When you import directly from a card in LR3, vertical pictures are displayed correctly in the library, but JPEG files are not turned in the file system.

This isn't a problem if you change with CS5, or export the photos. In these cases they are handled appropriately.

However if you change by something else (in the filters of my Topaz case via Topaz Fusion Express), the pictures are not properly turned.

Context: W7x64, LR3, cameras (EOS5D, G10) set for auto-rotation 'on '.

Any idea on how to solve this problem?

Thank you very much!

Jean-Paul

  1. Are you talking about the JPEGs from the camera or those exported to LR?
  2. What do you mean by "in the file system" (explore thumbnails)?

  • problem with the orientation of the photo (angle) to be imported into lightroom (4 / 5)

    Hello

I have a problem with importing the photos a few months. Lightroom import photos with a tilt, randomly. You can see a few examples below. I can't fix with the tool from lightroom without lost of my picture.

I use a pc running windows 7. I try different versions of Lightroom (4 and 5). I delete the photos and I re - import. In fact, I have the 5.7.1 version of lightroom. When I use another app to view photos (picasa or other), there is no problem. This problem will appear approximately in November 2014. I guess (I'm not sure) after changing the lightroom version (5.5-> 5.6). I have always used the same camera, a sony rx100.

It's really a problem for my panorama!

If someone has an idea, it will be great!

It is unlikely that either recorded in a processing defect, or included in a "Preset" called import, or otherwise, you have "Vertical" lit.

It is in the Panel of correction lenses - Basic tab. It is analyzing the contents of each picture and evaluate what he thinks may be a horizon of a coherent perspective / vertical / flatness (there are a few options for how it then corrects the image in response to this).

To check which of the above two possibilities is the case: you can make a virtual copy of an image and then reset it. If the image shows still turned in this same way, then standing is active in the default treatment that apply to this particular image. If standing had been arrested in these default values, then Reset would have stopped it for this photo. Uncheck standing and then re-save the default processing.

If when reset, the image of straightening / rotation does NOT - then it's probably a develop preset that you use when importing, or subsequently. When you manually apply this setting, the image goes as shown: you have confirmed this preset to be "at fault". Update of this preset, unchecking standing. When used on the new images below, this vertical analysis and correction will not be made.

Vertical is IMO something you are likely to want to frame-by-frame, if necessary - and do not occur in all areas. But the lens profile and correction of CA CAN apply by default, without bad effects, in my experience.

    Hi jackdevant,

It might be possible that the image names are identical, this is the reason why you are not able to import images into Lightroom.

Please check if the names are the same or not?

  • How to turn off Windows 8 photo auto rotation

Is there a way to disable the function of automatic rotation for photo thumbnails in the Windows 8 desktop? I would like to be able to adjust them manually. Thanks in advance.

This isn't really a feature, but file Explorer finally respecting the tag rotation on JPEG files. You must correct the rotation yourself using an application such as Photo Gallery, which comes with Windows Essentials.

  • optimization of Photos to iCloud and import into Lightroom

    Hello.

So, anyone know what happens if Photos optimization is enabled a giving iPhone and one of these optimized photos is added to your mobile in Lightroom?

Is the original photo, full resolution, downloaded to the phone before downloading the catalog of Mobile with Lightroom? Or does do it manually first?

    Answering my own question...

It seems that it downloads the image full resolution when the photo is added to a collection of mobile. But it completely changes the name of the photo of a huge string of characters. Don't know if it's iOS or Lightroom that does this. In terms of quality, there don't seem to be more compressed or different. And metadata are all there.

  • Limited to import into Lightroom 2 image size

Hi all! I am a person MKT using LR2 on Mac.

I have a problem to import photos into LR 2. Could not always import all my photos. I wonder is there a limit for the photos I want to import into LR2? I really have to solve this problem.

for example. Is it possible to import a 2.41 MB photo which is 7729 * 10506 pixels?

If you guys can do it, it means that there is something wrong my import settings? or something wrong with my MAC?

IIRC there is a limit to the size, size in pixels, on the side of Long and a total number of pixels, which can be imported.

You really need get a newer version of LR that expanded this limitation. LR 2 is released in 2008? 7 years ago, and there were 4 major updates since then. Not to mention multiple one-time releases for all of these 4 different updates.

But what specific problem you encounter when you try to import images.

  • Import of LR3 broken down by date

Is there a way to get a similar to LR2 dialog box when importing into LR3? I liked how you could just check/uncheck some dates in LR2 when importing, but have not found a way to do this in LR3.

    Salda,

If you import with copy/move and import of LR into subfolders by date, you can select/deselect dates that you want/don't want in the Panel of the import destination:

I think that in LR2 it was also only possible when copy/move the files during import.

  • Remove photos already imported into iphoto using several libraries

    Hello

I am running iPhoto 9.5.1 and due to the large amount of photos that I take and trying to stay organized, I have multiple iPhoto libraries. I'm in a situation where I have pictures on a card of the camera, which belong to two different libraries. When I opened one, I see all of the available import photos (as I have never imported it none of them, but want to import some of them). When I opened another library, I see some already imported and some available import (as I already imported some). At this point, I want to delete only on the map, those that were imported, so that when I open the first library, the only photos showing import, are those who are new and have never been imported in the previous library. A bit complicated, I know, but I will not reproduce in several libraries. So my question... when I see the line of photos already imported into iPhoto, is there a way to select and iPhoto just delete them camera card? I tried, but I can't seem to make it happen. If not, does anyone have another suggestion how to proceed (if all goes well simply), making sure that I don't accidentally lose pictures?

Thank you very much in advance for any help

    rostopovitch

It's complicated! How many photos are on the map? To really have control, I would probably want to delete the photos using the finder. But for this, you have to have a master list of what to get rid from that should be kept. I think you want to close iPhoto before deleting anything.

Fat Cat Software has a program called iPhoto Library Manager that really made these much easier questions for me. He made comparing libraries and move photos between libraries much easier. I don't think that you can use for your problem exactly, but you would be able to load it all into a library to be sure you had everything and then move or copy photos as needed. I recommend it if you plan to keep this multiple configuration of the library. http://www.fatcatsoftware.com/iPLM/

Original title: How can I get my camara photos card to import into my computer - when I insert the card, the pop-up window does not come to the top so can I import my photos in the photo library.

I used to be able to insert my card camara and a pop up appeared to choose how I want see my photos.  Now, nothing happens.  I can't understand what I'm doing wrong.  Any suggestions?

    Hello

You did it changes on your computer before the show?

If the dialog box asking you to import your photos does not appear when you connect the device to your computer, AutoPlay can be disabled.

Open AutoPlay and check if it helps.

Activate autoplay: Hold down the SHIFT key when you insert devices or media into your computer to open AutoPlay, regardless of the default setting.

Otherwise, you can import your pictures using Windows Photo Gallery:
    Here are the steps:
    a. open Windows Photo Gallery by clicking on the button Start , allprograms, and then clicking Windows Photo Gallery.
    b. on the toolbar, click fileand then click import from camera or scanner.
    (c) in the dialog box import images and videos , choose your camera from the list of devices and then click import.

  • I had to rebuild the computer and reinstalled the photos of cecently.  I have photos imported into Lightroom, but the parameters associated with the photos, that is to say. When they were developed, are not there.  How to import these?

I recently had to rebuild the computer and reinstalled the photos.  I have photos imported into Lightroom, but the parameters associated with the photos, that is to say. When they were developed, are not there.  How to import these?

Default LR stores all changes in the catalog file, not in the pictures. So if you have a backup of your original catalog you will need to copy on the newly rebuilt system and open it in LR. You will then need to recreate a link to the images in the catalog depending on where are your images and where the original LR catalogue think they are.

  • Photo library on mac was emissions additional no duplicated and then imported into Lightroom 6 PROBLEM: all duplicates appear (capitan OSX). Help me with this please!

I imported all my photos in photo library on macbook OSX capitan. The photos were additional emissions not duplicated using power foto and gemini. This in the photo library. After checking, I have 48,000 photos, 80,000 duplicted >. After that completely eliminate the unwanted duplicate photos I import to LR6 by drag and drop the trump card in the library. Then all photos, including the deleted ones appear.

Any solution or another way to import? photo for mac contains all my data being sought.

This file did you import into Lr?

And I would say you will find the duplicate in Lr, note the file name and then search the photo library to see if you have multiple instances of this photo. You cannot use Spotlight; you will need to use another utility like find easy.

But you are right; If you have deleted them permanently from the "recently deleted" album they should be in the trash; you could confirm that as well.

And use 'Show in Finder' alleged images duplicated in Lr to see where the copy is stored; that should also give you an idea of why it did not work.
