  It seems that it downloads the image full resolution when the photo is added to a collection of mobile. But it completely changes the name of the photo of a huge string of characters. Don't know if it's iOS or Lightroom that does this. In terms of quality, there don't seem to be more compressed or different. And metadata are all there.

• Windows 7 - the problem with the photos saved in XP

  I used to have a Dell XP desktop computer. I've saved 200 + photos from a digital camera on a CD - R disc. I now have an office of Novatech Professional running 7. When I insert the CD in the drive, my computer can say how much of the Conference on Disarmament has been used and gets the name of the right folder but cannot see any of the pictures (files). When I run the XP emulation I can see perfectly all the files. How can I convince the 7 to recognize files?

  Problem solved - I used the XP version available through Windows 7 Professional.

• Problems with the crop angle slider

  Whenever I go to "crop and straighten" and click on the 'Angle' slider it automatically adjusts the angle of my photo to 0.53 - 0.53 or slightly cultures it as well. It's very annoying and no matter what I I it retouching images still happens. I can always manually adjust after that but even resume the angle 0 leaves my slightly cropped image. Is it possible to disable the automatic cropping? I don't know yet if it's happening because each image there or +.53 or-. 53. automatic framing would probably produce something different each time.

  Try checking "Force them to Image." You can also use the level if the image has horizontal or vertical edges you want leveled.

  Lightroom is a database; not a file browser. A file Explorer "focuses on" your records, sees that the pictures are here and allows you to work with them. Lightroom does not. He knows only the photos that have been imported into Lightroom. Once the photo is imported into Lightroom, then Lightroom knows the location of the photo and it's metadata and you can perform tasks (such as editing on the photo). At no time does Lightroom contains your photo. At no time Lightroom stores your photo. But since it is not a file Explorer, if you move or rename or delete the photo outside of Lightroom, then Lightroom no longer knows where's the picture (it is not a file browser) and if the photo is reported as missing (it has a question mark icon) and you can no longer perform tasks on this photo.

  Therefore, once you import a photo in Lightroom, you must perform all the management of this photo of in Lightroom. This means do not move or rename or delete the photo in your operating system or another program. You will need to browse/search the photo in Lightroom, not your operating system. All the actions performed on the photo must be done in Lightroom.

  Why? A database allows you to organize in a way that is not possible (or possible but very difficult) to do in your operating system.   Looks like there are probably good copies elsewhere then... I was worried, you might well have lost some of your photos, and it is always better to access the card and copy and paste the files (and then check that they are ok) before using the software download and the removal from the Board. If the files have been corrupted somehow during the transfer process, they can still be recoverable in respect of the SD card using something like the free version of "recuva" providing that the SD card has not been re-used and previous files overwritten by new material. However, if your sister still photos as well which should not be necessary.
