  • Card Intel HD 520 causes areas white/blanks in photos in the develop module of Lightroom in new X 1 carbon Gen 4

I have a new laptop Lenovo with a CPU i7-6600U, 16 GB of RAM and an Intel 520 HD GPU, pilot 20.19.15.4380 dated 02/02/16.  I use Lightroom CC 2015.5.1.

The GPU passes Lenovo hardware diagnostics.

In Lightroom CC, in the develop Module, move the adjustment sliders or simply move the cursor any where often causes the image I work mainly to turn bright white or white for the most brilliant with holes.  Cursor movement or disable the adjustment panel restores photo (see examples).  Only happens when LR says to use the GPU via Edition > Preferences > performance - does not occur when this box is not checked.

Here is an example of a RAW photo opened to develop:

    Capture1ok.JPG

and then when I'm working on it with GPU on:

    Capture1.JPG

If I move the slider, picture goes back to normal, although the problem may occur again with different parties going blank.

I read LR problems with other cards, so if it is a software related issue, I can live with it--not off the GPU.  I just want to rule out the possibility that I have a faulty GPU.

    Thanks for your help

The GPU causing the problems you see and others as you read it, if you say that you have tested and everything is fine, then just leave it unchecked option and you will be fine. There may be an update to the map in the future that can cure the problem, but in the meantime...

Good luck, and I like the picture in the screenshot also!

  • Strange coloring of photos in the develop module

My newest import, the photos looked normal in the library module. However, when I go to the develop module, something strange happens. This, to be exact:LightroomColoring.JPG

  • Why do I get a blue rectangle covering the photo in the develop module?

I bought the upgrade to LR6 (or is that LR CC?).  The new software downloaded, installed, updated catalog, it seems to work normally.  When I first opened the program, it seemed ok, but soon a large blue rectangle (with a top X) appeared on the photo selected in the library module.  I signed out and signed in; I restarted my computer.  The rectangle is always there, but I saw that no module has been highlighted.  When I clicked on the library, the rectangle disappeared.  So, I thought I had solved the problem.  BUT the rectangle persists in the develop module (only he).  The controls do not seem to work (if I click on the cropping rectangle, I can see in the upper right preview window), but I don't see the rectangle not really change anything.

    Any ideas?  (I'm running Windows 7, 64-bit)

For now, try to uncheck the GPU option in Preferences > Performance tab. There is a question that seems to be linked to other app/games that changed some parameters related to the gpu. I will try to attract the attention of Adobe on this, but in the meantime try to change this option.

  • Photos in the develop module are covered with red dots [was: I am really new to Lr and clueless...]

I am really new to Lr and clueless... when I take my photos in the area 'Developing', they are covered with red dots like bacteria.  What I am doing wrong?

In the top right of the screen to the point, you should see a histogram representing the tones of the image. It has a triangle shaped button in each upper corner.

The left button displays blue Shadow markers for any areas that are at, or very close to, 'black '.

The right button red poster to highlight markers for all areas that are at, or near, blow 'white '.

Click these buttons to the markers on the image (toggle).

(You can view markers temporarily, when turned off, flying over the buttons of the mouse without clicking)...

  • flicker photos in the develop module. Why?

    Hi Nenne,

Could you please let me know the exact version of Lightroom installed on your computer?

If you are working on Lightroom 6/CC, try the following steps:

    • Go to Lightroom > Preferences.
    • Also please go to preferences > Performance tab and uncheck the box "use graphics processor.
    • Restart Lightroom and see if it works.

I love the develop module, but I'm doing something wrong in the library

In the library, under 'Catalogue, all the photographs', all my photos appear showing the stars, cropping, and development. The problem is that these changes are not for the photos on my hard drive. When I re-import them in Lr, the changes are not there. My workflow is to do nothing after development or export them to the original with a new file name destination. Anyway, it is that they get a new file name without change of development when they are imported into Lr.  Please help (PC user)

And others have explained, Lightroom does not apply the changes to the file. All changes are stored in the catalog, and then applied to the image when it is displayed in Lightroom. If you want a copy of the image with any changes so that you can share with others or send it to a laboratory to print, then you must export a copy of this image by using the export dialog box in Lightroom.

Features of Lightroom as well by its design. The images that you import are always left in their original condition, unmodified.

  • Photos is no longer visible in the library Module, but cannot see/work on them in the develop module.

It began in LR5 and continues now that I upgraded to Lightroom CC 2015. In the library, I do not show all of the photos even if file names are there. The photo area is grayed out. I can see the image in the develop module. It started when I imported some JPEG files, but now it's this way for all the photos. Any ideas on how to solve this problem?

I restarted the MacBookPro OS X 10.10.3, optimized catalog and no change.

    Thank you

    David

Were you able to get it repaired with Adobe technology? Normally the removal

Previews should take care of this problem, except when the catalog

itself also has a few problems. If you launch Lightroom while you keep the

option key, you get a dialog box where you can choose to test the integrity of

    your catalog file itself.

  • My photos look terrible in the library module after editing in the develop module.  They resemble nothing also.  How can I solve this problem?  Use Lightroom 5.

Anyone have any ideas?  The only way I can get around this is to export the photo in iPhoto and try to edit about the mess.

I found the answer to my problem here Lightroom Help | Color management

This library module uses Adobe RGB, while the develop module uses ProPhoto RGB.

  • Photo disappear in the develop module

When I open an image in the develop module, it disappears as soon as I press the first controller.

On the display appears: there is no image selected.

It is since the last update. I don't know where is the flaw.

I hope someone here can help me.

    Ute

First of all, thanks a lot for your answers.

When I tried to implement your ideas, I noticed that the problem apparently does occur when I select the image of a smart collection.

When I select the image from a file, everything works as usual. I use lightroom that shortly. Without doubt, I make a mistake with the smart collection.

  • In CC, the develop module will not respond.

I just removed Lightroom 5.1 and went Lightroom CC.  However, the development module will not be resonpond. At the suggestion of someone, I went into preferences and tried to disable the GPU, it too would not respond.

Try to disable the GPU outside of Lightroom:

Close to Lightroom. With Windows Explorer, navigate to C:\Users\ [username]\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Lightroom\Preferences

Open the Lightroom 6 Preferences.agprefs file in a text editor such as Notepad.

Very close to the end of the file, there is a line that says useAutoBahn = true,- change that to useAutoBahn = false,

Save and close the file. Now, try to start Lightroom.
