Photo library repair was performed in vain. I get a pop up window that says "library cannot be opened.

I was trying to create a copy of the photo to a new external hard drive library when I got 'error message 36.  That's what prompted me to repair library.  Now, whenever I launch the photos app the screen says "library of repair". I click on 'repair' and then I get "library cannot be opened.  What is going on?

What format is the external drive and how is it connected

The photo library can be on a volume formatted as Mac OS extended (journaled)

    Hello

Yes, you need to uninstall Adobe Creative cloud only, if you are unable to uninstall creative cloud through the tool cleaner and error message you shared above.

Please go through the below mentioned location and remove the file name ""ffc " "

    MAC: \User\\Library\Application Support\Adobe\OOBE\

Windows: C:\ProgramData\Adobe\OOBE\ (to view the AppData folder and program hidden data, see files, folders, file name extensions |) Windows XP, Vista, Windows 7)

    * After the removal of FFC file run the cleanup tool and uninstall Adobe creative only cloud.

Let us know if this will help!

    Kind regards

  • How can I get my Photo, library etc to open?

When I click on start, then on picture library and others, it does nothing. When I right click on image lib and then choose open, nothing happens.  How can I get the lib to open?

    Hi Henryjd,

Thanks for posting your query in the Microsoft Community Forums.

I see that you are unable to open the photo and the library on the computer. I would appreciate if you can help me with the following information.

    1. what version of Windows you are using on the computer?

    2. don't you make changes on the computer before this problem?

Start the computer in safe mode and check if the problem persists, if the question does not persist then perform the clean boot and check if the problem resolves.

    Step 1

Safe mode starts Windows with a limited set of files and drivers. Startup programs do not work in safe mode, and only the basic drivers needed to start Windows are installed. Please click the below mentioned link.

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/start-your-computer-in-safe-mode

    Step 2

To help resolve the error and other messages, you can start Windows by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs. This type of boot is known as a "clean boot". A clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts.

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929135

Note: follow step 3 to reset the computer to start as usual after the boot process.

    It will be useful.

Let us know if you encounter problems with Windows in the future. We will be happy to help you.

  • Cannot repair the photo library. The best way to restore from iCloud library?

The photo library of the system is damaged and cannot be repaired.

It is said "Photos has attempted to repair the library"Pictures Library 2015 ", but can not open it." .

I first met problems with this library a week before and at the time where I could repair and open the library successfully, but lacked a month value of photos.

Given that it was successfully in the iCloud library, I left it to re - sync - but this process suspended several times before the end, and the photo library of the system now seems to be permanently damaged.

I have no project of marked or impression of faces in the photo library of the system, then I would be happy just to restore from iCloud.

My plan is to put in place a new - empty - library and then that designate the library of the system.

If I understand this right, the new (empty) system Photo library will now resynchronize with iCloud and will copy all the contents of this library of back to my Mac.

Is this correct? It is the most effective way to restore my library?

And while I'm here - what is the best way to manage a very large library? I had my photo library become corrupted ten three or four times over the past years and have found it necessary to divide into single years to prevent this. I overlooked this piece of household by the end of 2015, and now it's happened again... Surely, there must be an easier way to manage libraries of images of several years?

Is this correct? It is the most effective way to restore my library?

Yes, if you don't have a useful upward on your Mac.

How do you call a large library, I've never had a corrupt Library, I think that your problems are not the result of the size of the library, but rather something else. From my experience it is recommended to maintain a local upward, I use Time machine, but also have a second to the top using a third-party backup solution.

  • Performance problems with large Photo library size

Did anyone seen performance issues when the library becomes too great? I used to keep a few different libraries, since some of my libraries are already 1 TB. So, if I merge into one, the file will be 2-3 Tb when it's said and done. Anyone know if it is recommended to size limits or is it more important with El Capitan. Obviously, the response time will be affected by the hard drive and the speed of the laptop, but before you begin merging into one file libraries, I wanted to see if anyone had any suggestions/recommendations or other related advice. Thank you!

It is not documented, but how many pictures a library can contain pictures, you can migrate photos iPhoto libraries and libraries Aperture, so you should be able to store at least 1 000 000 photos in a photo library.

I haven't noticed any performance issue with a large library of Photos.  My largest library has 40000 photos.

During the regular work with the size of the library is not serious at all, as long as you want to keep enough free storage on your system drive. Don't let the photo library fill in your system drive. Keep at least 10 GB free at all times, better more.

However, there are rare occasions when the size will be discussed:

    • When you need repair library, it will take more time, if the library is large.
    • When you first migrate your libraries of photos, the initial treatment will take longer - scanning for faces and places, creating thumbnails.
    • If you use iCloud library synchronization can take a long time for a large library.
    • Too many smart albums can make pictures a little slower, if the library is large.  I noticed a drop in performance, after that I created 200 smart albums with a search for text across the entire library.
  • After sleep, the photo library must be repaired

I often sleep my iMac (El Capitan 10.11.2) and find in the morning that there is a window telling me that the photo library must be repaired, and I can fix it or quit. I chose the option "fix" several times, but that makes no difference. I talked to Apple support about this and was taken by the standard routine, but that changed nothing. Everyone comes through this?

    Hi rowlandfromromsey,

Thank you for contributing to the communities of Apple Support.

If you find that you need to repair your photo library after waking up from his sleep, there are a few steps that I would recommend who can help you find the cause of this behavior.

First, create a new library and import photos as a trial and see if you get the same message. Assistance to the creation of a new library, see using several libraries in Photos.

Another good step to try at this point is using the function of disk utility first aid to check your hard drive. See disk utility (El Capitan): check a disk or a volume for problems.

You answer with the results of these two steps may help provide some following steps, too.

    Best regards.

  • Unable to repair the photo library.

Recently reinstalled OS X on my Macbook and have been bringing things plus one by one from a Time Machine backup. I dragged out of the photo library of backup to disk of the Macbook and put it in the images folder. I opened the Photos and a prompt appears that the library must be repaired in order to work properly. I click 'fix' and it starts. It stopped at 95% and gives me this message:

"The library could not be opened. Pictures has tried to fix the 'Photos' library, but is unable to open it. »

I tried to update the computer.

I tried an older version of the backup of the library.

I tried to force Photos of repair via the option + command thing.

    I even fixed the permissions.

    I tried 5 times now.

    Help, please!

    OS X El Capitan 10.11.3 (15 d 21)

I dragged out of the photo library of backup to disk of the Macbook and put it in the images folder.

Drag you it directly from Disk Time Machine? A library of Photos should be restored by running Time Machine, otherwise the internal links may not work.

Try to start Time Machine and restore directly from the display of Starwars.

Select the pictures folder, and then open it.  With the folder of photos open in the Finder more window start Time Machine. Go back at the same time you did your backup, and then select the photo library and click on the button "restore".
