photos taken by 1 5 d mark II has white sail area

Hello

my 1 5 d mark II is upward. I found that all my photos taken by my 1 5 d mark II are with a white veil in the middle box when setting the shutter speed to 1/50 or more (more speed, more white sail). Any of you know what is the cause and how to fix it? Thank you very much.

Thank you cicopo. just a little curious, can explain a little more? and why is it only happen to a higher shutter speed?

    Hello

Looks like you may not have the latest version of Lightroom as the Canon 5 d R raw files are supported in Lightroom 6.0 and above (not in previous versions)

  • How can I sort the Photos taken by different cameras?

Background: A friend recently gave me a flash of his photos to a common travel drive. After the 3 week trip, we have combined more 3 500 photos.

After you import Photos, my photos and hers are all mixed in the same days in Photos. I had planned to keep a part of his own, but especially will remove them. It is the first time we did it since the migration into Photos and I can't understand how to divide these into the kind of events that iPhoto does. When we did earlier, iPhoto would be auto-sort in two separate events because they were of different cameras. It was a very simple process to pass by his 'events' delete images I didn't want, then merge the event with my photo events. It will be a very tedious nightmare of having to sort the 3 500 photos manually to change hers if I can't split automatically.

    My question:

How to change the display of Photos so I can see the photos taken on the same day with different cameras separately? Similar to the separate events, we have seen in iPhoto. Please say there is a way to do it!

    Thank you

You can also restrict this smart album to include only photos taken between specific dates.

  • I have attached a few photos taken in Ireland, you can take a peek

Thanks to all who helped me with my problems of lens. I got the Peterson, book and read it carefully. I enclose a photo taken in Ireland last year. Can take you a look? Used my 5DM 3 with lens EF 24-105mm 1.5.

OK, now I understand you are looking for criticism...

To my way of thinking, there are two or three parts of how I criticize.  Additionally, when you ask for criticism on the public forum, expect honesty (nobody would do you any favorite if they were dishonest in the hope of not to hurt feelings).  Then promise to melt.

If an image is entered in a contest, the judges would not necessarily time to properly evaluate each image.  They are looking for 'timeout value.  Here's what that means: imagine you're flicking your way through a magazine... looking at the picture after after.  They are all "nice"... but then you come across something with impact.  It forces you to stop and linger for a while on this image instead of simply continue to turn the page.  This 'pause' is what I mean by 'value to stop '.  You can shoot a photo fo a sunset Sun, but we have all seen thousands of sunsets so a sunset is unlikely to get anyone's attention (it should really be an amazing sunset).

    Normally, I'm looking for bases...

-What is the upgrade to the point?

Is technically correct exposure (not over-exposed or underexposed)?

-And then there is a variation on this... the exhibition is also artistic attractive?  Have you used a narrow depth of field to help some element of the image stand out and blur the background & foreground?  Have you used a shutter speed to create motion blur and involves a feeling of movement in a photo?  These are examples of ways to be not only "technically" correct, but artistically and creatively engaging.

What the composition?  You draw look me at something?  Doesn't it seem balanced?   Is the awkward cropping?

I could go on with more examples, but the point is, I would look for a technically good picture and also an attractive artistic image that draws me in.

While your image is nicefly focused and well exposed, what am I missing, it is a focal point of interest.    I guess you could say that these rocks are a focal point, but the framing is random and nothing especially attracts me to this topic.

Shutter speed was fast enough to 'freeze' the movement of water and the water is dramatic (he's not a storm or huge waves, etc.)  In other words, is there anything of particular interest in the water.   If you want to evoke a feeling or an emotion of tranquility or peace, you could use a neutral density filter (for example 10 stop filter) and take a picture of long exposure (on a tripod) near evening, and also to the low level of water near and it blurs a look almost glass-like water (sometimes if the water is a little more active ", you get a misty look).  Use of a circular polarizer (CPL) can help to adjust the reflection of the water and make it easier to see the bottom in the water.

You mentioned that you have the Peterson book (I assume you mean "Understanding exposure" by Bryan).  In this book, you will learn how to turn in "manual mode".  I think everyone should learn to shoot in manual mode and then learn how to decide when to use fast shutter speed speeds up rather than slow shutter speeds or openings close vs. openness for creative impact.  Once you know "how" to control your cmaera for impact, you can't use just 'manual' - I use almost all modes on my camera.

There is a book that I like on the composition of Michael Freeman called "the photographer's eye: composition and Design for better Digital Photos.

Take some time to read... then take a LOT of time to go shoot and practice.  Some people are strong supporters of "comes out and shoot".  I prefer to shoot with a goal... read something, then go try to apply this thing (instead of justing out aimlessly).   This is useful because you can come home, review your shots and decide how well you achieved your goal (doing things of goals that you can achieve with realism).

  • What is the resolution of the photos taken on the PowerShot Elph 115 IS

New user.  Tech challenged.  What is the resolution of the photos taken on the PowerShot Elph 115 IS?

The camera doesn't shoot in PPP: it draws pixels & pictures will be X pixels wide by pixels X maximum. The printers use DPI & you should be 300 DPI or more for high-quality printing. Some software opens your photos & shows how great a feel you could do at 72 DPI, but who is just something built in the program & no has no real meaning, unless you plan to make a wall poster. It's unimportant info 99.9%of time.

  • How do I create a smart (smart) collection of all photos taken at date of Christmas for all years (all of 24 December)?

I like to create a smart collection of all photos taken from a specific date as December 24, for all years!

It is very tedious to do that in Lightroom without a plug-in.

I think that the plug-in filter everything from John R. Ellis can create this collection without penalty (I don't know if it creates a smart collection or a regular collection).

    Hi Joas,

Sony A7R II files are not supported in Lightroom 5.

You need at least version 6.1.1 or CC2015.1.1 to access these files: supported by Adobe Camera Raw devices

You can upgrade your program of Lightroom or Adobe DNG Converter allows you to convert raw files to DNG and import them into Lightroom.

    Kind regards

  • I use Photoshop CS5 ver.12.1. Photos I take in Camera Raw with my Canon 60 d are viewable, but those taken with my Canon 70 d are not. What can I do to be able to view Camera Raw photos taken with both cameras?

    Question:

I use Photoshop CS5 version 12.1.  Photos I take in Camera Raw with my Canon 60 d are visible and can be worked, but those taken with my Canon 70 d are not. What can I do to be able to view and work on Camera Raw photos taken with both cameras? Y at - it a plug-in that I can use that will allow me to display and work on photos of 70 d and my photos of the 60 d? Helpful suggestions are appreciated.

The 70 d has not supported until the Camera Raw version 8.2:

Devices supported by Adobe Camera Raw

PS Camera Raw versions of CS5 ended with 6.7:

Camera Raw plugin and Adobe application compatibility

You have two options: upgrade to at least Photoshop CC or CS6 or get the free DNG Converter to convert your RAWs 70 d DNG for use in CS5. The last option will always require an additional step.

    Hi irod,.

    Greetings.

    • Latest version of camera raw for CS 6 is 9.1
    • Check now if your camera is to 9.1 or higher
    • If requires 9.2 or later, then you should switch to PS CC or use the dng converter
    • But if it is support less 9.1 then use this link to install camera aw 9.1 and then try to open pictures
    • If still you have questions then please paste a screenshot of the issue in more detail.

  • How to retrieve camera a6000 8 photos taken without the SD card?

How to retrieve camera a6000 8 photos taken without the SD card? I don't have a message "no card" until after they were taken, so I assume that there is a built-in memory.  Thank you

Unfortunately, there is no built-in memory.

It should have been a card number flashing to the top left of the camera then you would know.

In addition, it would have taken a message given during use - I don't think that there is no option to disable the notifications, but I could be wrong.

Nevertheless, unfortunately, these images have disappeared and there would be a message card number at the top left.
