Photoshop 7 won't open - Windows 8.1

This problem started in Windows 8.

One day Photoshop 7 everything just stopped opening. He would start to load things, and I would get some sort of error, which was pretty generic when I looked it up.

ImageReady works well, but does not have the features I need.

I completely uninstalled and reinstalled Photoshop 7. It did not help, the error was still there.

I was hoping that upgrade to Windows 8.1 would be empty of any other file was stuck preventing to open Photoshop.

Now, I didn't even get an error, Photoshop starts to load and then it simply stops.

Stops the loading screen when it displays

During the initialization of the ICC Scriptures...

or to

During the initialization of the preferences of color...

If I try to open it subsequently several times Windows simply says a problem caused the program to close and my only option is to close the program.

I would go to

Photoshop 7.0 C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Photoshop\7.0\Adobe settings

Drag the folder Adobe Photoshop 7.0 settings integer to the trash and then try to run photoshop 7

(the preferences are not reset on a reinstallation of photoshop)

Update as much as the 7.0.1 you ever able to update 7.0.1 on windows 8, before all the problems started?

(before you upgrade to windows 8 to 8.1)

If you go to

C:\Program Files (x 86) \Adobe\Photoshop 7.0

is the Photoshop.exe named similarly?

  • Win 7 64 bit - 3rd third party apps won't open Windows dialogs (save money, save, open, import, etc.)

I'm running Windows 7 pro 64-bit. I have Office 2010 installed and a host of 3rd party applications. The problem is that all my 3rd party apps are impossible to open a dialog box or the child window.

For example, if I use Open Office and am writing or Calc and go to save a document by clicking file > save, the Open Office window will quickly blink a couple of times and nothing will happen. No dialog box opens. Therefore, I'm unable to save the file. Keyboard shortcuts don't work either for this purpose. However, if I change the options in the preferences of Open Office to use dialog boxes Open native Office, then everything works fine.

The only problem with this approach is that very few applications have this option. All native applications of MS just excellent work. It's only a 3rd party app problem. So, what I get out of this is that there is probably a registry problem where applications are trying to make a call, but the key is no longer there or corrupted in some way. I'm trying not to reinstall Windows 7 because I don't want to go through the pain to reinstall all applications.

Things I've tried so far: uninstall antivirus, repair Windows, disable all controls user account, disable firewall, compatibility running administrator mode, mode reinstall application, latest updates of windows, video drivers, safe mode and updated firmware mobo. No dice. I do not have a restore point to before time, I started to notice the problem. I'm not sure that I have installed, uninstalled or removed which may have caused the issue.

This problem is killing me. Any help is appreciated.

    Hello face down.

There are a few things you can try to see if it helps.

One, run SFC/scannow to see if you have files corrupted in Windows 7 system.
    Click Start
Type: CMD, according to the results, right-click CMD
    Click on "Run as Administrator"
At the command prompt, type: sfc/scannow

This will check for any violation of the integrity and repair any damaged operating system files.

    Reboot your system.

KB Article ID: 929833 - how to use the System File Checker tool to troubleshoot missing or corrupted system files on Windows Vista or Windows 7

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929833

Then, try and see if you are still not able to open Windows dialog boxes. If this isn't the case, then I think your next option would be to do a upgrade in Place who fixes Windows 7.
However, you will need to have the Windows 7 DVD.

The upgrade in place is a tool to fix the system. Thanks to the special upgrade process, we will be able to repair the system. The upgrade in place will not affect the settings like photos, movies, documents, etc. that are saved on the computer. Although this operation will not remove or modify the files and installed programs, I suggest always that you back up important files before you do. In addition, you may need to reinstall the device drivers after this operation.

The detailed steps are included as below:

    On-site upgrade
    ====================
1 log on to the system first.
    2. Insert the Windows 7 DVD in the DVD drive of the computer.
    3. Click Start and select computer.
    4. find the "setup.exe" file in the DVD-ROM and double-click it.

    5. click on install now.

    6. When you are prompted to enter the product key, please click Next directly without entering any key. The installation wizard will prompt and ask if you confirm to install Windows 7 without the key and choose please confirm.

    7. When you get to the screen ' which type of installation you want', click upgrade to upgrade the Windows 7 system files.

Note: When running the upgrade on the spot, the system will restart automatically (several times) to merge the files and programs, please leave the computer alone and does not configure it until the 'upgrade on the spot"finished. The system should start Windows 7, once it is upgraded. Once the computer is running "upgrade on the spot", you can go and leave the computer and it completes automatically.

Please answer back with an update and let us know if it helps.

  • After the installation of OS10.11.1 El Capitan on my Mac, Photoshop CS4 won't open.

After the installation of OS10.11.1 El Capitan on my Mac, Photoshop CS4 would not open. Instead, my Finder leaves. So, as requested by the operating system, I downloaded the Java Update and installed. Still, Photoshop would not open. I uninstalled via the uninstall folder and then reinstalled Photoshop more some other extensions that have been verified. Installation was "successful", but it start always from the docking station or on the folder icon. I then downloaded an Adobe CS4 update, but it still not open. My other CS4 apps open very well. What's wrong?

  • Photoshop CS3 won't open in Windows 7 after works perfectly?

I just installed Windows 7, 32-bit version last month. I reinstalled all my programs, including InDesign and Photoshop CS3. InDesign does not work well. Photoshop CS3 worked fine until last week. One night Photoshop does not open! I have tried everything I can think of-removal of preferences (it took me three days to find out where he was, and Ctrl-alt-shift does not work) and delete a new program for playback of videos which was the only new program I had installed (just in case), then "repaired" the Photoshop using the original disk.

Finally managed to get into Photoshop BUT: everything is twisted - colors are off, PS tells me I only 1 600 MB of RAM, when I know that I have 2 GB installed, it seems really strange - everything is gray out checkerboard.

This is my third post on this issue - CAN someone HELP me?  I've been without my Photoshop for over a week, and desperately need to get that back. I'm just now getting back on track, trying to get my site, and al. After almost a year out of service due to a broken back and the computer crashed. Now, I have my computer back and can not use PHOTOSHOP!  Help!

In addition, my computer suddenly said "we had to go back to the basic Windows color scheme because there is a program that needs it (?), and then my office is all messed up. I can't get my color management back - in turn computer and turn it on again and then all is well. This always happens after trying to get into Photoshop.

Please send me an answer because it's getting very annoying and debilitating. ([email protected])

  • Photoshop CS3 won't open the image window

Today I was scanning a jpg image in Photoshop CS3 and I received a message that Photoshop could not import due to a problem with the Clipboard data. (I can't rememer the exact message and I - currently - can't the message back to the top). The scanned image did save on my hard drive, so I opened it up with Painter X, where I worked with the image anyway.

In any case, I thought it must be a problem of the PS don't import not new scans. However, I tried to open a PS file I had worked with and without open image window. (The picture shows in the navigation of the PS, but no real image file opens).

I then tried to creat and open a 'new' PS file. Yet once, no the image window opens.

For all purposes, PS seems to 'see' the image files, but it will not actually open (or visible) the image window.

It's apparently a problem with Photoshop CS3 itself. I've never had a problem like this before, and I had scanned and opened an image in PS yesterday without any problem.

I use Mac OS 10.4.11 on a Mac Pro with 3 GB of Ram.

Anyone encountered this or heard of him? I appreciate any suggestions.

    Thank you.

  • Photoshop CS4 won't open new RAW format

I have CS4 with the latest updates, Camera Raw 5.7 and my CR2 images will not open.  I have a Canon EOS Rebel T3i.

I searched for more than 2 hours looking for a solution and from what I've read, I should have what I need to open these files.

When I go into Adobe Exchange to find a program as possible, need me a page that wants me to download the Adobe Exchange Panel. However

It is only available in CC or CS6, none of them that I have. I can't go through this page.  So I guess that Exchange there is no long for those of us with older programs.

I really almost never use this program, but since I need to open my RAW photos.

I can't afford to update this program right now and I find it weird that they cut off from the surface of exchange for everything else.

If someone could help figure me out how to get my pictures to open in this program without having to buy yet another program that would be wonderful.

I do not use it enough to justify the cost of the upgrade.   What is missing that I need?  The table of compaitable says that I have the right version for my camera.  I am at a loss.

I'm sure that somewhere, someone has asked this before, but for the life of me I can't find one which is based on my criteria, that will help me with my problem.

Thanks for any help you can offer.

    My system features:

    Intel Core 2 Quad Q9400 2.66GHZ

    4 GB memory

GeForce GTX 460 1 GB video memory Dedicaed

    Windows 7 64 bit

The Canon T3i was first supported in Adobe Camera Raw (ACR) 6.4

    http://helpx.Adobe.com/Creative-Suite/KB/camera-raw-plug-supported-cameras.html

6.4 ACR is only compatible with CS5 and later. It is not compatible with CS4 CS4 so cannot open Raw T3i files...

    http://helpx.Adobe.com/Creative-Suite/KB/camera-raw-plug-supported-cameras.html

To open the Raw files in Photoshop, your options are to day at CS6 or the cloud.

The other option is to use the free Adobe DNG Converter to convert all Raw the T3i in DNG files. Which adds another step in your workflow whenever you shoot photos. Then, open and edit the DNG in CS4.

    http://www.Adobe.com/products/Photoshop/extend.displayTab2.html

    http://www.YouTube.com/watch?v=0bqGovpuihw

If you almost touch Photoshop, another option would be to buy Photoshop elements 12. Then you can open and edit the T3i Raw files but you will have the more limited set of tools of the elements. You can then export to TIFF and open the TIFF in CS4 if necessary.

  • Photoshop CS5 won't open the psd files or new files Please HELP!

I'm fairly new to Photoshop. I have it on my Mac. I tried to open a file that I worked on earlier and Photoshop opened and I saw all my layers on the right, but the window with the actual image did not come to the top. I thought that maybe he had a problem with the file, so I tried to open a new file, but I had the same problem. He showed the background layer, but I could not see the real picture. I don't really know what to do. Can anyone help?

The GPU is the graphic processing unit - the heart of your video card.

OK, 10.7 has lots of video driver bugs, and some of those that have been set in 10.7.3. You have installed all OS updates?

If Apple doesn't have a fix for the bug pilot yet, you can disable OpenGL drawing in Photoshop preferences to avoid driver bugs, but you lose some features also.

  • My pc won't open windows 7

I have a Compac Presario model # CQ5320F Windows 7 64 bit. My problem is that when I start my computer, it goes to a screen that displays the compac logo and it gives 4 options and when I select one of them, I get a BIOHD-2 error message. I do not have a factory recovery disc but I did a. When I put it in the computer will attempt to boot until it tries to open the windows program and then he returned to the screen, I talked about above. It was working fine just a little slow before. I went out of town for a few days and I turned it off which I almost never do, and when I came back and it works it is what happened.

Please read this HP document entitled 'hard drive failure errors' and refer to the section "tests on hard drive. Yes, most likely, your hard drive is fried. As mentioned in my previous post, you will need to replace the drive to correct the problem.

  • Photoshop CS5 won't open once I changed discs scratch in prefs

I was working on a long document in Photoshop CS5, who has eaten too much of my main drive (to the point I had to everything and reboot a few times to clear it) when the main drive has been defined as a scratch disk. I went to preferences and changed the drive working on my secondary internal drive, where I keep all my media. Exit Photoshop to clear the cache.

When I tried to open Photoshop once again, I get a message at the beginning upward (got no program yet) say: "cannot open a file because the disk is not available. You click OK. Then another warning message: "could not initialize Photoshop because the disk is not available."

The two discs are mounted and available. Since Photoshop opens never actually I can't go and reset the drive working on my intinital settings.

Someone has an idea of what I can do to fix this?

    Thank you

    / Fred

Worse: trashing prefs to maintain ctrl-alt-shift button from Photoshop (and then using the dialog box) should allow you to open it.

  • Photoshop CS4 does not open RAW files

Photoshop CS4 won't open RAW (.) CR2 files). I tried what is indicated on the Adobe (versions, uninstall, reinstall check) website. Nothing has worked. It still gives me the error message: "Could not complete your request because Photoshop does not recognize this file type."

I use CS4 on a Mac OS with a Canon Rebel XS 10.6.6. I currently have Camera Raw 5.7 installed.

    Someone at - it answers?

    Thank you

    Teresa

This image is only a little more than 3 megabytes.  It's not quite large for a true CR2 file from your camera - they are normally over 10 megabytes, right?

The raw file seems to be truncated.  Photoshop does not open, and the free software IrfanView will convert only the upper left quadrant.

Regarding the recovery of the images, at least in part, you may be lucky...  Canon's Raw files contain an embedded JPEG preview image.  It is smaller than the size of the full pixel of the camera and in front in the file.

Photo Viewer Windows 7 or the free software IrfanView will extract the JPEG embedded all of the image of the figure of the cat of this file.  You may use these tools to extract previews for use.

How you did load the images into your computer?  He must try to understand how they have been truncated.
