Photoshop CS3 won't open the image window

Today I was scanning a jpg image in Photoshop CS3 and I received a message that Photoshop could not import due to a problem with the Clipboard data. (I can't rememer the exact message and I - currently - can't the message back to the top). The scanned image did save on my hard drive, so I opened it up with Painter X, where I worked with the image anyway.

In any case, I thought it must be a problem of the PS don't import not new scans. However, I tried to open a PS file I had worked with and without open image window. (The picture shows in the navigation of the PS, but no real image file opens).

I then tried to creat and open a 'new' PS file. Yet once, no the image window opens.

For all purposes, PS seems to 'see' the image files, but it will not actually open (or visible) the image window.

It's apparently a problem with Photoshop CS3 itself. I've never had a problem like this before, and I had scanned and opened an image in PS yesterday without any problem.

I use Mac OS 10.4.11 on a Mac Pro with 3 GB of Ram.

Anyone encountered this or heard of him? I appreciate any suggestions.

Thank you.

It looks like the window is open off screen or on your monitor second behind your panels.

I just installed Windows 7, 32-bit version last month. I reinstalled all my programs, including InDesign and Photoshop CS3. InDesign does not work well. Photoshop CS3 worked fine until last week. One night Photoshop does not open! I have tried everything I can think of-removal of preferences (it took me three days to find out where he was, and Ctrl-alt-shift does not work) and delete a new program for playback of videos which was the only new program I had installed (just in case), then "repaired" the Photoshop using the original disk.

Finally managed to get into Photoshop BUT: everything is twisted - colors are off, PS tells me I only 1 600 MB of RAM, when I know that I have 2 GB installed, it seems really strange - everything is gray out checkerboard.

This is my third post on this issue - CAN someone HELP me?  I've been without my Photoshop for over a week, and desperately need to get that back. I'm just now getting back on track, trying to get my site, and al. After almost a year out of service due to a broken back and the computer crashed. Now, I have my computer back and can not use PHOTOSHOP!  Help!

    Hi photofan,.

Search for unwanted plugins, if you added one in Photoshop.

In addition, you can try to reset the Photoshop preferences, see this help.

"To re-create the Photoshop preferences files, start the application while pressing Ctrl + Alt + Shift (Windows) or command + Option + shift (Mac OS). Then, click Yes to the message, "Delete the Adobe Photoshop settings file?"

Let us know if that helps.

  • Photoshop CS5 won't open the psd files or new files Please HELP!

I'm fairly new to Photoshop. I have it on my Mac. I tried to open a file that I worked on earlier and Photoshop opened and I saw all my layers on the right, but the window with the actual image did not come to the top. I thought that maybe he had a problem with the file, so I tried to open a new file, but I had the same problem. He showed the background layer, but I could not see the real picture. I don't really know what to do. Can anyone help?

The GPU is the graphic processing unit - the heart of your video card.

OK, 10.7 has lots of video driver bugs, and some of those that have been set in 10.7.3. You have installed all OS updates?

If Apple doesn't have a fix for the bug pilot yet, you can disable OpenGL drawing in Photoshop preferences to avoid driver bugs, but you lose some features also.

  • Impossible to uninstall Photoshop CS3 on my mac: I get the following: the alias 'Add or remove Adobe Photoshop CS3' could not open the original item cannot be found.

Any help appreciated.  Photoshop has worked well on that computer for years.  Recently, I encountered several problems when the hard disk ran out of space.  Space has subsequently done away Dropbox, the OS has been updated, but Photoshop doesn't work anymore and I think I should only uninstall/reinstall.

You should be able to run the CC / CS own Script tool completely uninstall any old version of PS:

  • Slow to open the Images in Photoshop CS3

I just converted to win7 and installed PS CS3.  When I do an update check, there is no update for photoshop, so I believe that I am current.  If I open a jpg image via the file menu, or bridge, or using ACDSee, image files (or files) are slow to open.  If usually sees a message upward in the title bar of photoshop (where the logo is followed by "Adobe Photoshop CS3 Extended") where it will briefly indicate "not responding".  It started with switch to win7.  It will take 20 seconds or more to open a jpg file and is not the giant files.

Under Options/performance, I indicated to let Photoshop use 1194 MB which is the upper part of the beach.  The range that photoshop shows as ideal never changes, regardless if photoshop is running alone or with other applications.  I indicated "scratch disks" on my drives E and C, with E being the first listed.  E have more than 500 GB of free space, and C has more than 190 GB free.  History States are 20 and cache is 6.  Settings for my NVidia GE Force 8800 video card GPU has activate verified 3D acceleration.

I don't know what else I'm supposed to optimize.  I never had this problem in vista using CS3.

This is a known bug and has been reported several times in the forum.

The solution, weird as it may seem, is to make a printer driver generic default printer.

If you do not, you can download it here: http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/product.jsp?product=pdrv&platform=win

All part of the fascinating world of Photoshop CS3.

About the status of the update, in PS go to help > on to check the version. It should be 10.0.1.

  • Photoshop CS6 will not open the file image (.jpg, .dng and .cr2)

    Hello

I recently reinstalled my laptop (64-bit) Windows 7 Pro. It has all the necessary Windows updates.

I installed Photoshop CS6 (64 and 32-bit) and I've installed all the updates it needs.

It will not open any JPG or RAW, .tif, .jpg, .dng and .cr2 files. Before you reinstall Windows Photoshop worked well.

When I try to open an image file that Photoshop does not open, so the file type is associated with Photoshop, but that's all. The software is running, but it won't open the jpg or tif, and it does not open Camera Raw to display the RAW file.

If I double-click on a new image, then a new instance of Photoshop is open, in addition to the already open instance, but still no picture.

If I click file-open and navigate to the file it will then open in Photoshop and Camera Raw 9.1.1 and the picture shows successfully.

    Strange!

The only thing I think currently, is that I have 2 partitions on the laptop, with C: and a D: readers, with the users folder, which is held on D. Photoshop is confused by there? Well it is exactly how the laptop has always been in place, and it was already defined in this way before Photoshop has been installed.

I tried to uninstall and reinstall. I tried to install just Photoshop 64 Bit, not 32 bit (I don't really know why I get the two offered, to be honest.)

I am now lost and would like to receive helpful suggestions!

    I "solved" this problem!

It seems that Photoshop won't open these files from a Windows 7 'Library' that points to a redirected folder.

However, if I create a mapped drive with a drive letter local, the actual path of the files, (for example \\Server\FolderRedirections\Michael\Pictures), then it works OK.

It is a good work-round and it makes no difference to me if I use a mapped drive or library I put just one correct, in the section 'Favorites' from Windows Explorer.

Thanks for the suggestions guys, that helped me a lot. I hope this answer helps someone else, even if my situation may not be a common scenario.

    Hello.

I'm having a problem loading and using my Adobe Photoshop CS3. This is the third time that I use this forum. I us a PC. The operating system is "Microsoft Windows 7 Home prem". I recently had to remove from my hard drive and reload the operating system with all the updates and load to the top of my existing software. All my software works except my Photoshop CS3, which I use most. I loaded the software disc and download online. The system of charge very well and activation is complete.  Here are the main things that don't work properly, I have noticed so far. First of all, I can't open my camera RAW (I can with my Lightroom software, but not with my Photoshop software?). So I can't open any of my files of digital camera? Second, I can open a .jpeg file and use the Photoshop software and I can save the changes, but when I turn off my calculated the software doesn't seem to be on my computer. When I go to Windows ' search program and files "software is not located here. When I go to "Uninstall" the software of the foldername is there it is. "Photoshop CS3" but there isn't any size file to it IE 400 MB, while my software "Lightroom" on the 'uninstall' section will have a file for example size 400 MB tied to it. Thirdly, I also have a photosoftware of B + W, which operated in Photoshop; It's "NIK software - Silver Efex Pro" and it is located in the subtitle of 'filter' of Photoshop CS3. I use Silver Efex and all functions are working properly, but I can't save the file, it does not save the changes to save.

    Please can you help me.

    Thank you.

  • Windows Photo Gallery. How can I change the settings in the Windows Photo Gallery to automatically open the image without going to the index first?

Windows Photo Gallery.  How can I change the settings in the Windows Photo Gallery to automatically open the image without going to the index first?

Additional information: there are 2 computers that I use on the first Gallery Photo of Windows will open the image and allow me to use the left and right buttons to scroll through the rest of the photos in the folder, that's what I want.

On the 2nd computer when I open an image it will open the Windows Photo Gallery in an index with thumbnails of the displayed record.  How can I change so that it opens the same thing as the first computer?

I did the following on both computers; Right-click on the image and select open with...--> choose the default program--> go--> Program Files, Windows Photo Gallery, but it will be open always differently on computer 2.

Both computers use Windows Vista 32-bit.

    Thanks in advance.

This would happen if the file associations are corrupted on the computer, try method to set Photo Gallery Windows as the default program for opening files jpeg or png below image types.

    (a) open default programs by clicking the Start button, click default programs.

    (b) click on associate a type of file or Protocol with a program

    (c) in the following list of file protocol search jpeg and make sure that you have associated with the program that uses it and then check if it works.
