Photoshop commands are affected by the gray color profile?

In Adobe Photoshop color settings, you can choose different workspaces for gray:

  • Dot Gain 15% (the default value for Europe)
  • Dot Gain 20% (the default value for North America)
  • Gray Gamma 2.2 (the default value for the web)

Obviously, the conversion to and from grayscale (Image > Mode > grayscale) is affected by this setting.

Including other features or blending modes are affected by this setting when you are working on an image in RGB or LAB color mode? I'm not going to convert the image mode to grayscale at any point.

In principle, the profiles in grayscale are like all other profiles and behave in the same way.

In a conversion profile, you'll leave source via profile connection space (usually Lab) to destination space. If the destination is grayscale, only the L layer is passed. In all cases, you have the usual remapping from source to the destination.

Fattening and gray gamma are your just different response curves, like Adobe RGB is gamma 2.2 and ProPhoto gamma 1.8. Fattening is intended to compensate for ink spread when it hits the paper. You can consider fattening as equivalent in CMYK and gamma as equivalent to RGB (this is just a rough analogy of course).

One thing that is affected by your work, gray, is how you see the individual channels in the Panel layers. Here your grey work is assigned, what determines how values are represented. Similarly, all readings of grayscale in the info panel and elsewhere, are relevant to the gray work.

  • What versions of Adobe Reader/Acrobat are affected by the Win32/Pdfjsc.AMJ feat?

I have a user who tried to open a PDF file containing the Win32/Pdfjsc.AMJ feat, and I wonder which versions of Adobe Reader and Acrobat are affected by the latter. I would also like to know what this exploit is able to do so if the versions she used are affected. Versions of Acrobat/Reader with its workstation are Adobe Acrobat Standard 9.5.5 and Adobe Reader 11.0.0.7.

  • Photo Viewer seem to use the incorrect color profile.

I created a color profile by using X-Rite color grading equipment.   All my programs on my PC Windows 7 display the colors correctly except the photo viewer that shows all the colors in the dark.

For example in Photoshop or Microsoft Office Picture Manager, you can see the details in the shadows, but with the same photo in Photo Viewer, the shadows are so dark that they don't see all the details and all the colors seem much more dark and intense.

I used to use windows XP and did not have this problem.   Color calibration equipment is new and I use the latest version of the X-rite software on my Samsung SyncMaster monitor.  I found this same problem on another computer in Windows 7 with another Samsung monitor, but I don't think that its really a Samsung problem because I can not find another program except Windows 7 photo viewer that has this problem.

I want to continue to use the Windows Photo Viewer, because it is quick and easy and is well integrated into other windows functions.
I think it would be a simple solution to tell the photo viewer to use the correct color profile or simply to increase the brightness in Photo Viewer, but I can't find where is the setting.

Thanks for any help to solve this problem.

Success! ICC v2 switch fixed it. Thanks Alexander_L and dphildphil

  • Why my files published since Photoshop now are saved at the end of the file?

Probably a simple answer, but I can not understand.  Suddenly the images I edit in photoshop (and save) are appearing at the end of the file, rather than just after the original image as I much prefer.  I want to change that back but can't figure out how. Help please.

If your toolbar does not appear in the library, press "T" to display the toolbar. Set the "sort order to capture Tiime" and bring out all your photos edited in place next to the origonal.

  • Make photoshop have the Bitmap color profile

    Hi all

    Bitmap has a color profile.

    Kind regards

    Vinoth

For the conversion of all the we have the color profile, but there is no option for Bitmap?

The way I understand it, there is nothing of profile in a bitmap image.

It contains only black pixels (RGB 0-0-0) and white pixels (RGB 255-255-255).

In order to have a profile is meaningless, and the image becomes scored when converting to bitmap image.

  • How to set the correct color profile

From the outset: I am not an expert in this area...

When you look at on the Internet on the management of color, color profiles, I often get a lot of text and generally intended to the "experts."

Actually I am not so interested in all the technical details. I'm looking for rather a simple statement about how 'set' a default color profile.

I don't know how my .icc profiles to select from...

    Material:

Printer: Epson WorkForce Pro WF-5620 (with its color profiles)

    Monitor: HP DreamColor Z27x

    Photoshop CS6

    Windows 10 x 64

At the launch of my pc, the monitor shows that it is set to AdobeRGB.

    Questions:

    (1) when I browse using Windows Explorer simple .png files (png with no EXIF data files, say, screenshots, or images on the Internet) and drag them in Photoshop, they are much darker and I need to make an adjustment. Which shows the Windows Explorer is about right, in Photoshop, they are much too dark.

    (2) when, after having created a PSD in Photoshop and everything seems correct, print results are bad, they are too light and I need to try to waste his time with profiles or almost to try to do things.

    Below some screenshots:

Anyone could pleasssee... to help and give me some advice on how to implement?

i.e. the profiles to choose where so the results on the screen are the same as that of the print.

again, I am not an expert and I do not wish to become a :-)

There are so many profiles to select from, I don't know...

    Thank you!

    Mylenium says:

Simple answer: none of this is important if your system is not actually calibrated. You can set the default factory profiles all day and wear yourself out, and they will always be wrong.

Bit of a negative attitude, wouldn't you say?

It is not as complicated as many will have it. You think, always, in terms of source and a destination profile. You still need two profiles, and each should be a precise description of the color space that it represents.

So, what is your source? This is your file. Fine. Adobe RGB, do, don't mess with it. Do not confuse the profile document and monitor! You need both.

Then you have two destinations, the monitor and the printer. Each profile a detailed description. The monitor profile is implemented at the level of the system (or your Stallion will do), and Photoshop will find and use it to display the image. Again, it is a source of right > conversion of destination. Once the monitor profile is set up, no further user intervention is required.

Then, the printer. Here you have different profiles for different media, and there is no default. You must choose the correct profile for the paper that you are using in the Photoshop print dialog box. Here you will need to also make sure that Photoshop manages colors, and then you must go to the printer driver and make sure that the printer color management is turned off. Choose the right paper here, since it controls the total amount of ink.

That's all. If all profiles are present and correct, display and printing should now match. If you want to go further, you can set your monitor calibration target so they correspond to the document that you print on - IOW put the point of the white screen then that it is a Visual match to the white of the paper and monitor black so it corresponds to the density of the ink max for the paper.

  • Change the default color profile in the new Document Image?

I looked and looked and even google.  Someone knows how to change the color profile by default when you start a new image file?  In CS5 mine default sRGB (under Advanced menu drop-down) but my CS6 is ProPhoto RGB, which means I have to manually change almost every time I paste an image copied right click in a web browser.

The RGB value of work your default profile favorite Edit > color settings.

You can also activate profile-incompatibility warnings while you are in this dialog box.

  • Book: Assign the same color profiles?

I have a book written for a magazine. And I just went to export the document to PDF and I received a warning of color. I followed it it down to a single document.

But it turns out that this document has the correct color (Coated Fogra 39) profile and all my other documents were lying Fogra 27?

I don't know how it happened, I have always used coted fogra 39? Anyway, how can I change all the documents to Coated Fogra 39 one bad hit?

This is the way to go.

I thought that you were the conversion, which is not necessary in this case because the 2 profiles are so similar that there will be a change in appearance when you assign.

  • Is firefox are affected by the last update of windows 10 - since update firefox slow/no answering and asking to be closed - ARRGH microsoft

Why is it every time there is an upgrade microsift everything seems to get mucked up - you could almost imagine it is programmed in so regular is the problem - because the free upgrade windows 10 seems to be problems... Guard clamp upwards mozilla responds don't not etc - someone at - it ideas?

Support for Windows 10 of Firefox will be more fully realized version 40 this is the 39 version.

40 Firefox will not be finalised for a few weeks, but if you are already running Windows 10 maybe you're an 'early adopter' and he won't mind using a beta-test version.

First of all, I suggest you a backup of your file of main parameters (profile). This article has tips on it: back up and restore the information contained in the profiles of Firefox.

Then the beta version is available on the next page (scroll down to your preferred language): https://www.mozilla.org/firefox/beta/all/

In case you're wondering, the traditional criterion of the 32-bit version will take care of all of your regular plugins; the version 64-bit test barely has plug-ins available and perhaps a few other work through compatibility issues.
