Photoshop CS6 & Bridge or Lightroom 5/6?

OK this may look like something stupid to ask, but I already have Photoshop CS6 (which I am trying to teach myself that I don't photograph ocassion - mainly travel photography, and I don't do that professionally - just as a hobby).  But when it comes to the Organization and touch-up/post processing images, y at - it no advantage to Lightroom 5 or 6 on Photoshop and Bridge (Yes, I still use CS6, have not made the leap to CC right now)?  Is Lightroom easier to learn (for beginning photo editors) than Photoshop.  I basically need the ability to attach photographs and crop, and from what I can see if close in my learning of the PS, it's a massive, powerful, program that can be intimidating for new users.

Ideas or opinions?  I don't mind the extra $150 cost if it makes my life a lot easier to deal with the PS and the bridge (I PS to work, so he's not going to lose).

Forgive me for the long article, I couldn't find the link, but this should help you understand the difference between Lr and bridge:

What Adobe Bridge

The bridge is the focal point of the Creative Suite. Synchronization of parameters of color management for all programs of the suite is based on bridge and cannot be made of the bridge, take one of the important uses.

Bridge displays real thumbnails of many other types of files as the Finder or Explorer. It also allows instant playback of audio or video files more easily than the native operating system management of files.

Bridge allows direct access to the metadata file, to include keywords and copyright information as appropriate (for example, for raster files and vector of company logo). It also displays the fonts used in an InDesign file, the nuances in an INDD or Amnesty International and output (including spot color plates) plates they use.

When you manage assets for a design project, Bridge allows a quick and simple sorting, the coast and labelling custom (with indications flash color) of assets. I can rate images according to whether they are possible, for consideration by the customer, rejected or approved. The bridge built-in filters allow snapshot isolation of the only approved images or drawings of a folder, only rejects it (for deletion) or only files with certain ratings, regardless of the number of files it contains. It recognizes the extensions, so if I only need a landscape or a 16:9 image in a folder of hundreds of images, I turn off the aspect ratios I don't need.

Once filtered, remaining visible files can be selected and copied, moved, or deleted without affecting the rest of the contents of a folder.

The collections are a useful feature heavily. One of my clients is a performing arts center, and in one season, we prove dozens of ads, flyers, brochures, web banners, posters, billboards, and other related equipment using the same assets over and over again. These assets are held by the artist or the show on the disc, but I put in place every season repeating assets as a bridge Collection, while I have to open the collection and drag and drop these assets in new INDD, PSD, HTML (Dreamweaver), FLA or AE projects without having to navigate to a folder to pick up individual files.

Favorite bridge is another place I battery frequently requested records, such as stock photography, the backgrounds and records of higher level for ongoing projects.

Assets can be divided into subfolders, but a quick toggle "Show items from subfolders" exposes all the assets at a glance while maintaining their organization. In general, I'll keep AIs, PSD, EPS, photos and client images in separate subfolders within a project. When I'm ready to start shooting assets in an InDesign layout, I switch it on and then drag that I need in the layout.

Bridge comes with Adobe Camera Raw built, which is several times faster than the use of Photoshop to adjust the JPEG or TIFF images for things such as the range of tones, white balance, cropping, glasses for observation and sharpening and is non-destructive.

An extremely useful for users of InDesign CS5 + is the function bridge function "view linked files, that opens all files in a presentation in a single view, no matter where they are physically. I often use this when you make alternative layouts of a model of customer approved for a campaign to make sure that the same assets are used in each room, or when you create a motion graphic or interactive piece for the campaign in After Effects or Flash.

The lot and the image, built-in Scripting Bridge treatment automate things as the creation of small JPEGs ready for the web of multiple images, rename a lot of files in place or by copying to another location, create sets of PSD, png, jpeg, or other types of files from an assortment of image files and so on.

The bridge is so much a part of my daily work on my main workstation I have a monitor dedicated to him near 100%. Bridge located just open 24/7, ready for use. I was running at half speed without it, no doubt.

First of all make sure you disable / disconnect in order to save the number of activations.

Click the help menu, and then select disable / disconnect .

Then you can uninstall in Control Panel uninstall process as normal.

Later, you can download and install CS 6 app link below:

    Hi Jeff,

I have the last video player for Win-7 64 x.

Thanks for the tip, looking for the info pilot under 'Start', I discovered > "All programs" > "Nvidia Corporation" > "3D Vision" > "disable 3D Vision.  By disabling the "3D view" in the "all programs" menu cured the problem.  Kind of a strange place for a 'switch '.

Hope this helps someone else as it was a very frustrating problem!

  • CS6 Bridge: Output to PDF not working/Blank

With the help of Mac Mini: Lion OS.

    Adobe Photoshop CS6 / bridge

This output has worked in the past. Some time in the last month it has stopped working.

I select three images for examples and want to create a simple PDF (content map)

    Nothing fancy, no watermark.

I have reset preference settings to start with (ALT hold) bridge still does not work.

    Any help would be great.

    Thank you

    Greg

    Next?

In Bridge preferences (menu Adobe bridge CS6 / preferences) select the "Start Up scripts section and see if the script" adobe Output Module is listed and if there is a check box in front of it. ' "

If there is no check box select and you will probably be OK.

Otherwise a reinstall of the PS (which contains the bridge as an application) could solve this problem and bring back the output module script

  • Issues with running Photoshop CS6 and bridge with Lightroom 4 also on the same PC

I was running Photoshop and Bridge, then bought Lightroom 4. Front of installingt 4, I had no problem with the bridge, but since the installation of 4 all of the photo that are held in bridge are gone, but they are in Lightroom. With Lightroom, you are able to edit photos in Lightroom and Photoshop, if necessary, save and close and it automatically changed the image of Lightroom.

I have two PCs, a top bridge (this one) and the other without, but both have the two edition installed prgrams. On the other PC I can switch between Lightroom and Photoshop without any problems, but when I try to move on with this PC, one with Bridge installed, it will open up Photoshop, but the photo does not transfer. If I close Photoshop program and return to Lightroom, it will tell me that photography could be transferred to Photoshop, because it would not launch. If I close this message window, it will launch then Photoshop and the transfer of photo on which allows me to edit and save as usual.

My question is; Anyone know if Lightroom and Bridge should run side by side, or do I delete the bridge of this PC and see what happens. Bridge is just a holder and organizer of photos, wherease Lightroom did the same thing, but also has post editing capabilities. Both programs seem redundant, but if your Photoshop running, it is difficult to get files from Lightroom. It seems that you must open Lightroom first, then you can view and chose a picture to work, then back and forth between the two programs. This seems to be redundant bridge.

Thanks for any help or suggestion.

I've never understood light room and where it is located. I've dabbled with it and I couldn't find out how to save my images in my workflow of currengt, or how to resize and put a border around my images. How to save for web and as TIFF, as I did for all my files for four years. LR seems to be taking pictures of my Iphoto folder and I don't use that. I tried to cancel the cc of photoshop and lightroom cc and cc bridge but I don't know if I did. I am really confused, and I have work to do. What can I do, do I do, help me! @@ !

  • 6 Lightroom do not discount Photoshop CS6 any longer.

I can no longer hand off images from Lightroom to Photoshop CS6 6.  It comes up with an error message "the file could not be modified because Adobe Photoshop CS 6 could not be launched.  It is actually launched, but the image no longer come up to what I click OK on the error of LR and then he launches.

Also now in Photoshop CS6 independent I can not enter the bridge or do a lot of other functions such as error that keeps coming back to the States "could not complete traverse it at the head of bridge because Photoshop was unable to find the JavaScript Plugin.  I checked after the last update of Java.

I've assigned CS5 as "additional external editor" and that works very well with a transfer procedure in LR.

Here's the solution.  I got the premium on a 9.5 installed on my system.  A survey of several sites indicated that it was the culprit.  I uninstalled the software on a single and my problems went away.  I reinstalled on one premium and returned all the problems.

Just to clarify, the offending software was on a perfect Photo Suite 9,5.  I have no problem using the previous version perfect Photo Suite 8 as it works very well now that 9.5 has been uninstalled.  I'm happy for forums like this to discuss the issues that arise.  On one denies any guilt for it, so it was left to the user to understand.  I have another system in my photo studio running LR 6 and On1 perfect Photo Suite 9.5 on Windows 7 without any problem.  It just seems to be Windows 8.1 what he doesn't seem to like.

  • I'm in Lightroom 5.7 and I'm trying to 'Edit in Adobe Photoshop CS6' but it is grayed out.

Straight to the point, I discovered that most of my catalogs are able to access this feature and other catalogues, do it grey. I deleted the com.adobe.Photoshop.plist and restarted Lightroom and Photoshop. I reinstalled Lightroom and Photoshop CS6 and them was updated. Yet, I can't get this feature running for all of my catalogs. The last option I want to do is recreate my catalog from scratch and lose all my virtual copies and modifications. I find it interesting that some catalogs are able to see 'Edit in Adobe Photoshop CS6' and some may not.

  • 6 Lightroom will not Raw files open in Photoshop CS6 (Nikon d5 and d800)

I recently bought a Nikon D5 and have nothing else had problems with reading and opening the files.  I have Photoshop cS6 and had 5 of Lightroom.  I contacted adobe when I couldn't even import my files even after doing all the updates.  They advised me to buy Lightroom 6 upgrade and I have more questions.  So I did and I was able to import my raw files from the D5 but still I can't open them in Photoshop anyway.

After much research I found that I have to convert each file to a DNG (frustrating ONE - if he will in bulk.)  Believe me, I tried different ways).  Then, once it is converted, I can open it in photoshop.

Still more frustrating is that now even my files between my d800 can't be opened in photoshop without first be converted to DNG one by one.  It wasn't a problem until I downloaded Lightroom 6.  Can someone help me please?  Why can't I simply open the raw between d800 and d5 as usual files.  I don't want to convert you to DNG.  I downloaded all the updates for both programs.  I have also uninstalled and reinstalled lightroom 6.  All advice is appreciated.  It is a puzzle.

convert each file to a DNG (frustrating ONE - if he will in bulk.)

The DNG Converter is designed to convert files in both folders in bulk.

    What is your workflow?

Camera Raw: How to use Adobe DNG Converter - YouTube

A conversion of files at once would be very laborious. I can understand your frustration if that's what you do.

Devices supported by Adobe Camera Raw

Camera Raw plugin and Adobe application compatibility

D5 has been initially supported by Camera Raw 9.5 (= cloud Photoshop only) and Lightroom 6.5 (or the Cloud version)

The D800 was first supported by Camera Raw 7.1 (CS6) and Lightroom 4.1.

So you should have no problem with Raw D800 files in Photoshop CS6 or Lightroom 6 and you will be able to open D5 Raw with Lightroom (but), the files provided that you upgrade to version 6.5 (not previous versions).

You will never be able to open Raw D5 with Photoshop CS6 files. Use Lightroom 6.5 for this then save as DNG. Then, open the DNG in CS6.

Or join the Cloud and open Raw D5 files in Photoshop CC without converting them to DNG.

  • 4.4 Lightroom; Camera Raw 7.4 and Photoshop CS6 13.0.6. Not compatible with Nikon D810 raw files

I work with Lightroom 4.4; Camera Raw 7.4 and Photoshop CS6 13.0.6. Last month I bought a new camera Nikon D810, when trying to open files with this software I'm told that the files are not compatible with this version. I have updated their until I could, but still I can not work with my new file format. What is the solution?

You must update your version of Lightroom to 5.6 or newer to support the native file of the NAVE of the Nikon D810. Take a look at this page for more information on when a particular camera support has been added to Lightroom and Adobe Camera Raw: supported by Adobe Camera Raw devices

    Hi Sharfox,

Bridge CS 6 cannot be installed separately you will need Photoshop CS 6 uninstalling and reinstalling and as bridge CS 6 is part of it, it gets installed with it on your machine.
