Photoshop CS6 freezes on launch 'base quick procedures' / Mac El Capitan

I am a user of Creative Design 6.0 Standard.

Photoshop does not open?

Thanks for the update.

Would suggest you to run Photoshop with the SHIFT key and click Yes to ignore the loading of additional plugins.

If it works, there is a third-party plugin that is causing the problem.

  • Photoshop CS6 freeze at startup / Mac

Whenever I click on the PS icon to connect, it freezes. He worked several days ago. I tried the troubleshooting tips, but nothing did.

I suggest to go for the launch of the first shift.

    The exit of the terminal.

Hold down the SHIFT key when you launch Photoshop and choose Yes to skip loading plugins and check if it works.

If this does not work, then you should go to reset preferences.

Follow the steps below to reset the preferences:

    • Open Finder
    • Click the Go menu and choose go to folder
    • Type ~/library and click Go
    • Open the Preferences folder
    • Move the folder Adobe Photoshop CC2015 Settings on the desktop
    • Launch Photoshop and check if it works well.

    * Otherwise, you can move back the same settings folder to the same location.

If it still does not respond, then you must reinstall Photoshop CS6.

  • Photoshop CS6 freezes immediately

    Hello

I have problems with the 64-bit version of Photoshop CS6. Immediately after attempting to open an existing file or create a new, Photoshop completely freezes, with no error messages/dialogues and I end up having to force the shut down of Windows Task Manager. This happens every time. I had this same problem with version beta, and it continues in the full release. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling it several times without success.

I did not have this problem with older versions of Photoshop (CS 5 and 5.5) and the 32-bit version of CS6 works very well. However, for obvious reasons, I prefer to use the 64 bit version of the software to take full advantage of what my machine is capable of.

I use this on a HP Envy 17 laptop, with an Intel Core i7 processor (1st generation), an AMD Radeon HD 5850 M graphics card and 8 GB of RAM.

I don't want to spend money on it until I can be sure that it will work correctly on my computer, so any help in this matter would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Looks like by updating the video card drivers, I was able to remedy. I posted before that I was able to complete the download. I went to the Web of ATI site and was automatically choose the best driver for me, installed, rebooted, and now 64-bit works fine.

I have the 5850M and that's what he said to me in the Device Manager now:

ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5800 series

    Driver date: 05/04/12

    Driver version: 8.961.0.0

  • Photoshop CS6 crashes on launch, the 'sweep of the presets' after the "Topaz" plugin loading / Mac El Capitan

In my view, there was a question yesterday about Photoshop CS6 hanging on scanning presets.

I've recently upgraded to El Capitan 10.6.8 and Photoshop CS6 open. I installed a new 2 TB drive, installed El Capitan and done a migration assistant to move my apps on El Capitan.

Photoshop has opened after that, by some of my plugins did not exist.

I had to spend my "Topaz" filters, so I downloaded the 7 of them that I have and install.

I went to use a Topaz Remask Plugin and had a mistake. The website of "Topaz" says that I need to change the property of/usr/lib. So I changed my id property and did a chmod 775 on the directory.

After I did, Photoshop started hanging on the "presets" analysis  I made the recommendation of discussion yesterday and got to the Show Package Contents for CS6.

CS6 ran here. This opens a terminal window and about went off of the CS6.

Now I have a dialog box stating «Skip optional loading and plugins» third  Adobe Photoshop CS6 screen says "Looking for preferences.

I can't click 'Yes' on the Skip loading dialog box. the Mac made some King of noise when I try and click Yes or when I try and move the start CS6 screen.

    The Terminal window shows this:

    stem-baakkonens-mac-pro: ~ rodbaakkonen$ Applications/Adobe\ Photoshop\ CS6/Adobe\ Photoshop\ CS6.app/Contents/MacOS/Adobe\ Photoshop\ CS6. "exit";

I tried to move my preferences file for CS6 in the library directory. But that doesn't seem to help, so I put back it.

Should I switch all my plugins on the outside CS6 Plug-ins directory and see if the CS6 will start? It hangs just now and all I can do is to force quit.

    Thanks for your reply. -Rod

OK, I can get in PSCS6 now after the re - install.  All preferences and stuff that I had Setup will have to be worked through. But at least I can get open. -Thank you

  • Photoshop CS6 independent: impossible to choose the installation directory (El Capitan w House separate folder on SSD)

I had to do a fresh install of El Capitan and am reinstalling all software (sigh).

My folder is located in a separate DSS (and not on the boot drive). I want to have all my applications in the folder of the startup disk, not in the folder/applications in my home folder.

When I run Photoshop CS6 setup the 'Location' field is set on / applications of the startup disk.

BUT what's really weird is that when I press on install, the software however ends in the folder/Applications my HOME of RECORD page.

What the hell is happening here? I tried three times, thinking at first I just took the wrong folder/applications, but now I see it, it's as if the record of / applications starting is wired into the installer somehow.

Thanks a lot for your suggestions

    Philippe

    Hi Richard,

In the case of a Mac machine the default location for all applications is Applications folder, if case you want to change this location, you will need to contact the Apple support, as they can help you change the default location.

To check and confirm whether or not it is installed on your boot drive, you can view the Application Support folder of your system library and if you see the folder of Photoshop in there it means that it is installed on your startup disk.

Location: right-click on the icon in the Finder and select the option to ' Go-To ' records. You will get a text box, type in the command below and then press the 'return ':

/ Library (It will open file System Library)

Then go to The Application Support > Adobe

Let us know if that helps.

  • Photoshop CS6 crashes constantly on 2 very different Mac, but CS5 running very stable!

    Hello

our photoshop cs6 (with the last update 13.0.4) keeps crashing every day and is not stable at all.

so we would work with cs 5 again one time, that this version is very stable and will not crash even once in a year.

We are every day / '9-5' working in a studio of photographers´ and use 2 different macs:

-new mac pro 6-core (2010/Westmere) with 48GB of RAM under system 10.8.3

-old mac pro with two 2.66 GHz Dual-core Intel Xeon "Woodcrest" of 2006 with 16 GB of RAM under system 10.7.6

(both with standard graphics cards equipped/shipped)

CS6 blocks whith daily suite of tasks:

    -frequent crashes: using "fuzzy".

    -frequent crashes: using "refine edge".

    -sometimes using «turn the tool»

in our tests, we discovered, that 'turn off the graphics card' (photoshop > settings > performance) in the mac pro 2006, would avoid an accident, when you use "refine edge". in the latest mac pro 2010, we found no solution to avoid an accident.

a 'crash', we define as follows: during the tasks mentioned, photoshop has disappeared from the screen in the blink of a second, and a sign of osx appears "photoshop broke down..."

    Thanks for your time...

I had crashes in ' gpu: 'basic' in fashion design, too. " but we sell all the old mac Pro from 2006 to 2012 and buy the latest mac Pro 2013 in December with GPUs "AMD fire pro w9000.

    This problem has disappeared, thanks!

  • Photoshop CS6 closes after launch

I installed Photoshop CS 6 on a new PC and just of opens and closes immediately.

It is part of the E-learning 6.1 and is on a new PC. I don't know if I activated it correctly as if I hold the Help menu Deactivate is grayed out?

I disabled CS 6 on my old PC as when I open it the license screen comes up.

    Yes, nothing has worked.

In any case as Adobe support couldn't help, I decided to buy photoshop CC.

Download it was also an option to update my existing CS6 I did and hey presto it works.

Cost me money to buy something that I didn't, and also set my old Photoshop!

Can send CC returned as being more necessary :-)

    Anyway, all sorted now thanks

  • Why Fireworks CS6 freezes at launch?

I have Adobe Master Suite CS6 for Windows 7 on a 64 x Dell PCs. Fireworks, I made a selection in a checkbox setting in scene of the software to find textures on my server (I don't remember the name of the window).  Since then, I could not open the fireworks.  When I go to select the icon to open my Fireworks software, it gets locked on the start screen "Initializing Textures" stage.  It stays on for about 10 minutes, then disappears never open the software.

Help! I already tried to uninstall and reinstall (fireworks only) but nothing helps, I still don't have the use of fireworks anymore. The clues how can I solve the problem?

I suspect that the Fireworks is to be overwhelmed by the number of textures on your server, or don't like the location of the folder textures. In older versions of Fireworks you can reset all the preferences back to their default values by removing the text of Fireworks preferences file, which rebuilds itself as soon as the program reloaded. I don't know if it's still available in CS6.

  • Photoshop CS6 reinstallation on a bridge and a Mac is not installed

I had trouble with Bridge CS6 not create previews and thumbnails correctly, so I tried to reinstall the software and in the course of the process, he creates the bridge folder and then once the installation is complete the file goes. Rejoice in that, when I went to purge the cache in Bridge, I was getting a message that says that the file has been corrupted and to clear the master cache in the cache preferences. I couldn't find it, so decided to reinstall. Now I have nothing. Help, please?

Think that I thought about it. Repair permissions and threw the old folder to adobe Bridge CS6 Extensions. Everything works now.
