  Michael, it is not necessary to install the previous version.  You can enter the serial number of the previous versions as part of the installation process for Photoshop elements 11 instead.

  The upgrade Setup program first checks a qualifying previous version installed on the computer. If it is able to detect one, it will not ask for the old serial number.

  Installation of an update will install the full version of the software.

  I would recommend that you launch the product in order to check if the installation has been completed successfully.

• Adobe Photoshop elements 13 installation on new computer

  This is probably a question of simple-stupid, but I sure need help... I bought Adobe Photoshop Elements 8 drive several years ago and upgraded to Adobe Photoshop elements 13 in 2014 by downloading the upgrade from the Adobe site.  Now, I bought a new computer and want to install Adobe Photoshop elements 13.  I accessed my account on Adobe and downloaded the 2 files.  When I try to run the downloaded files, I get an error that the files of archive are missing.  It dawned on me that I have to install the OLD Elements 8 records first, before downloading the upgrade of 13 elements, perhaps?  That's what I have to do, or is there another question?  Thank you in advance for any help!

  Related to the guest in an email reminding me that the trial was going to expire, therefore does not check for Mac version because it was linked to my account and I figured I would just be upgrade with the already installed trail version.  Now I had with the purchase of serial number does not work, probably because it is for a version of Windows.  Any thoughts on how to proceed?  Chat Customer Service does not...
