  More mm, the highest magnification of the image that you will become.  The answers will vary widely depending on who you ask but to keep it really simple (at the risk of being wrong technically)... think of the magnification of the picture that you would get with binoculars in terms of x... I would use 50mm as the basis... which is 1 X.  So 18 mm divided by 50mm will give you 0.36 X and 55mm would give you 1.1 X and 300mm will give you 6 X.  To complicate matters, the size of the camera sensor, the final image is further expanded.  For example the T6/T6i (a cropped sensor device) will give you another 1.6 X magnification compared to a 5 d Mark III camera (a full frame).  The numbers aren't important, rather the idea... a number greater than 1 gives you more magnification - bringing the object more closer to you.

  OK, like Adobe are [deleted by mod abuse], I've solved their problem for them!  Thanks to all those who have kept encouraging me to hate Adobe for their abandonment, without your lack of help, I would have probably given up and just used affinity or something.  Instead, you inspired me to fix PS and DNG to actually work.  I wrote an application and changed my mac to open cr2 with my app instead of photoshop files.  The comments at the top will tell you how to build the application.  You will need py2applet installed as well.  I installed it with the option - user, so the call in the comments, I've done is explicit on my mac.

  If you ask what is the difference between photographic subscription and the subscription of stand-alone application, then the answer is both are essentially the same except for two ways. The photographic edition comes with Adobe Lightroom and 2 GB of cloud storage. The stand-alone Photoshop version comes on its own, but with 20 GB of cloud storage and is two times more expensive. If the 18 GB of cloud storage is an additional value, I would say probably no - put the money that you save on an external hard drive in place. The photographic edition was initially a temporary special offer caused a suggestion from one of the co-creators of Photoshop, but turned out to be very popular with fans, private and business and so we have a permanent plan to subscribe to Photoshop.
