  I m running on windows server 2008R2 oracle 11 g R2.

  I want to schedule a backup customized with control of the database to plan my backups. (This is the second option of the database-> scheduled backup control)

  I have Oracle Xe installed on my laptop.
  This laptop is running wth Microsoft XP Professional SP2 applied.
  It works, I connected with the SQLdeveloper tool.
  I've created tables, users, views, synonyms and inserted data.

  But I am a novice and a fool.

  I tried to back up two different ways.

  Is your user member of the local administrator group account? If this isn't the case, then you can not connect without specifying a password - you will need to connect like this:

  sqlplus SYS/password@XE AS SYSDBA

  You can trace the order and activate 10046 trace as sql regular... And analyze using tkprof.
  You can refer
  RMAN backup is very slow, selecting from V$ RMAN_STATUS [375386.1 ID]. This note cannot be directly related
  to your problem, but there are commands for activating 10046 trace in that.

  If you manually stop, then you will offset in standby mode. Here, you can not reach to take backup to standby with up-to-date data.

  You can try that option as well, to enable archive transport & stop MRP fool the most recent data will not apply, then you can go for an archive backup. Apart from that I do not think that this option.
