I had this problem before, and the solution was, pachting the first instance, and then install the database with the dbca Wizard. Now my question is what is the best practice to patch the database to keep up-to-date. When you use advanced search in metalink didn't group patches, but 97 fixes some older then 1 year. I'm a bit confused and do not know which patch I have to install.

  I have a database with the RDBMS software installed on local c the server but the database itself installed on a San (via e :))
  
  My system drive crashed i.e. C: and there is no backup of that disk - so it is replaced! That's why I lost my software RDBMS (that I can reinstall ok again once) - which I assume will solve a few new registry entries. I can even reconfigure the listener if necessary
  
  However what I do on the Services that were lost that actually start / stop my database and database Services
  I can just manually recreate these services - how is this work?

  We have a situation where we have to copy a database from one server to another 450GB. Both are 32-bit windows system.
  
  Tried to use Robocopy and it keeps fail with resource not available error that there is enough space in the disk. The problem is with the memory.
  
  Can anyone suggest a solution? If no other solution is available, we plan to perform a tape backup and restore it on the new server. But there are practical difficulties in the present.
  
  If anyone has a better idea or option please let me know. Appreciate your help

  If Commander total is not helping, then another way would attempt to check the zip or rar file to get smaller.
