  Here is the difference:

  • Standard report column: this is used when your column in the SQL query returns the HTML markup. For example the query SQL with APEX_ITEM API columns or columns where you have mixed data in the column with the markup. In short, APEX rendering engine treats the column as HTML markup and analysis accordingly to display the required HTML element.
  • Display text (escape special characters): this type analysis the column data in the form of data stored in the database (no HTML). During analysis if the data contains special characters then it escapes and displays the data.

  Yes, you can mix the manual in the form of built on APEX_ITEM with normal standard report (display text) columns.

  In my installation of VSM 9 RP8, "Report Designer" and "Run report" links are disabled.

  Is this a problem of license (in Admin-> System Administration - > Sytem-> Your Organization, license type reflects as demo)? Or I need to activate certain settings activate the links "Report Designer" and "run a report?

  I have a PowerEdge T410 with a PERC H700, RAID 5 with 3 disks.  The controller reported a failed drive so I replaced the week last with a drive of new/refurbished.  Now only 1 week later it reported another drive has failed and the drive replaced as predictive failure.  Looks suspicious, i.e. I am doubting the controller card.

  I think updating the firmware of the controller first, but not sure if I should replace the faulty drive first, i.e. If updating the firmware could cause table failure.

  Also, if I install OpenManage on a virtual machine (host is ESXi 4.1), OM sees the controller?

  I am creating a report in FxM with the Version of browser and Type of browser used by a specific Application.

  I don't know that I find these details in the FxV sessions...!

  But I need some experts advise on how to generate a report of FxM with browser Type and browser Version for a given application.

  The category that you want to use is for the collection of criteria related to the instrumentation of browser. This is where your web applications are changed to include any instrumentation logic that is executed by browsers to send data to FxM.  If you do not see the data then probably browser instrumentation has not been invoked.

  In this case, you will want to use the UserAgent class.

  Note that it is using undocumented objects that may not be available in your workspace. Create your own version of the report by using the published views APEX.

  I've never seen anything to indicate that these periods are configurable. You should capture the required information in the views in your own tables APEX custom on a daily basis, using a scheduled task. Then, you have a complete control on the retention periods and worried when and what APEX.
