Pictures & my PhotoStream

Hello

This has probably been covered before, but I read the guides and the support of Apple and some (sometimes contradictory) posts here pages, but things are still not not clear to me. I hope some of you can help with the following:

Things were very simple. I take pictures on my digital camera and then import them on my Mac. If I wanted to, I could then copy or save an external drive and should not worry if something has been deleted on my Mac.

Then along came the horror and confusion of synchronization and iCloud in the form of my PhotoStream.

My understanding is that My PhotoStream is assumed to be "useful" but temporarily to have every last 1000 or the last 30 days of photos available on my Mac, iPad and iPhone?

Unfortunately, I activated it on my devices and have since been very uncomfortable and uncertain about the removal of all pictures on any device or the mac, unlike in the past, I can't be sure if a photo was uploaded to my Mac and if so it is safe to delete photos on my iPhone to free up space.

I guess that I have the photo settings.

iCloud > checked My PhotoStream

General > import: copy items to the photo library

Any photo that I take on my iPhone automatically get in PhotoStream and automatically imported into the Photos on my Mac?

If this is the case, then delete photos from my PhotoStream iPhone / Camera Roll because it has been copied to Photos automatically?

In short; How can I be sure photos in my Gallery of photos are imported photos on my Mac so that I can freely delete (all) pictures on my iPhone to 100%?

I hope that makes sense!

Thanks in advance

Alex

On your iPhone only remove the Photos from the film album, not my photo stream and you can be sure, that the photos will be transferred to your Mac.

The pictures in my photo stream can be up to 1000 points and they will automatically disappear after a month.  I just leave my only Photo stream.

If you want to clean up my photo stream as well, do it on your Mac.  You can ctrl-click on any photo in the album My Photo Stream and use "show on the spot.  If it has been imported into your library, you'll see it there.  Delete the version in my photo stream, if you no longer want.

  • How to import pictures from my Album "Photostream" in my local library

    Hi all

I was wondering how do I import pictures from my 'Photostream Album' in my local library. It seems that when I remove my phone Photostream things it reflects on my Photostream App Photo Album. I'd like to import the photos in Photostream locally then remove them from the photo gallery. I believe that I was able to do it from iPhoto.

My photo stream is to automatically import photos of your devices. No necessary imports.

Wait with removal of the photos from your iPhone Photo Stream, until the importation of your Mac photo library was finished. Do not delete not all the photos from the album My Photo Stream, which do not present in the Moments in the library of Photos from your Mac.

If you ctrl - click a Photo in My Stream Photo album and click on 'Show in the Moment' and photography can be revealed in the times, it has been imported safely. If you cannot reveal it in moments, but not to delete my photo stream.

  • Photostream photos are automatically saved in the pictures on Mac/El Capitan

I've used IOS for iPad, buy one of the Macbook Pro last fall (and actually use Lightroom and PS for photos) but want to keep a few photos in Photos on Mac.  I have no problem with the photo stream on iPad (recently - Pro) - I can pull some with 6sPlus of the iPhone, the photos appear in the photo gallery on iPad and I select and save image on film on iPad and remove it from the photo gallery.  I have iCloud library checked on any device, so I chose that the pictures are saved on this device.  I found that all my photos in Photostream seem to be saved all the pictures on the Mac.  Otherwise it seems intuitive to me unlike IOS - and I realize that the OSx does not necessarily the same as IOS.

So my question is - without going through the 'copy Photos imports' checked, make pictures just automatically add to the Photos in the photo gallery?  If so, doesn't make much sense.

To test this, I took several pictures on the iPhone, waited until they were downloaded in PHotostream then I select the photo, add to an album (album test) and then delete the Photostream photo - and sometimes it deletes the album and sometimes not.  So - I want to know how you make sure that the photo is in fact on the Mac and not only in the photo gallery.

Yes on the Mac if MyPhotoStream is on all imported pictures are uploaded to MPS and pictures from other devices o = in MPS are imported to the Mac

  • Import Photos do not sync up to Photostream

I sync my pictures taken on all my iDevices via Photostream Photos app and that works for me. I have a question where it seems I can only sync one way.

All images imported into the Photos on my iMac, captured by the camera in jpeg format, will not download to my devices (something that apple says is a feature of Photostream). I need to create an album and synchronize it like that. I'd rather be downloaded automatically and appear on my iDevices with the rest of my photos rather than sitting in a separate folder.

  • icloud photostream not working not not windows 10

It is a persistent problem that I've had for a few years, but it seems to be getting worse.

I have iCloud Photostream set up and it works very well with my iPhone mini iPad and 6, are both on the latest IOS.

I also put iCloud in place on my PC that runs Windows 10 work, this is very useful for me because it means that if I perform a site survey, the pictures are on my PC shortly after the connection. However I find that the pictures often don't not download to the PC.

I had found a previous post here that suggests to terminate processes from the Task Manager, then clear the local Cache of the synchronized files, re connecting iCloud on the PC that would then have to re start the image download.

This seems to work in most occasions, but doesn't seem to last a few days or more, even if today I can't seem to make it work.

Is there a solution for this?

I had general problems with photo stream on windows 10. I found that force a download library and waiting for the entire library to download haven't helped. There is a button "Download Library" in the iCloud Control Panel. You can check the status by clicking on the icon by the clock iCloud. Depending on the settings that you have selected. Can find in the control panel and press the button next to the Photos and the button options are at the bottom.

I find it personally more easy to use icloud.com and download the photos that I need here. Is fast enough and the interface is good for previewing. Also means that if I have a lot of pictures and need 2 or 3, no need to wait for them all to download. IM always a bit wary of playing with caches Pack iCloud think I deleted and let in the cloud and it deletes devices.

  • Saving photos Photostream in Photos

I just started to use Photos (I don't want to, but after the update, I had to), and after reading the discussion various docs posts and help, I'm still confused on how to ensure that the photos I have in my Gallery of photos are actually recorded in Photos and don't disappear once I've reached the limit of 1,000 pictures.

I realized that Photos does not use more demonstrations and in itself is no longer creates automatic albums priest photos each month hold an event ' Photostream [month] "/ album. To resolve this problem, I created smart albums with a date range of all the months. It's a bit * when I imported non-iPhone photos into Photos since I try only to target the photos I took with my phone, but whether it is. It is another question.

Now that I imported from several months of photos from my iPhone and have all organized in the smart albums, I have trying to figure out how to get the recorded images in the future.

I created a new smart album for July, and I see that there are 36 pictures in the album, which is consistent with the number of photos my phone watch I've taken so far this month. However, I didn't specifically import them from my phone. They seem to draw from my Photostream automatically (they appear in the Photos and the photo album). They will stay in the album even after that my Photostream manages to spend 1,000 items and these purges? When I go into the menu import and select my phone, I do not see that there are new to import. Then perhaps connect my phone automatically makes this? It's a bit * I don't see the source of the images in the album (whether an automatic import or photo gallery).

Basically, I just need to know if the photos in my smart albums, now and in the future, will remain same after as purges them photo gallery.

    Yes

as it is stated in the preferences of Photos MyPhotoStream imports (stops in the photo library) all new photos other devices and sends all new photos from the Mac with other devices

Once they are imported they do not depend on the PhotoStream cloud - it's not a synchronization service like iCloud photo library is a service of import)

  • Need help with pictures on iMac re: "Summary", "optimize Mac storage."

iMac mid 2011 1 TB, 2.7 ghz, i5, 16 GB memory hard drive; and MacBook Air mid 2012 128 MB HDD, 1.7 ghz, i5, memory 4gm, both El Capitan 10.11.5 running

I use Photos since it was released, although I prefer iPhoto (continue to use it separately for now).  I use the pictures on the iPhone 6 too.

Program to Photos on the iMac, I selected in the preferences: "iCloud library" and "Original download this Mac" so all of the photos are stored on it as well as in clouds.  The photo in the finder library shows its size - Go 117,24.

The MacBook Air ("MBA"), in the preferences of pictures, I chose the "iCloud photo library' and ' optimize Mac Storage.

I didn't not use PhotoStream on each device.

Also, on the MBA in the preferences of Photos under general, I chose "summarize the pictures" and not selected "copy items to the photo library."  But the library in the finder on the MBA is gb 7.62.

Question: in the MBA, I click on the photos to see larger, "turning clock" icon in the lower right a few seconds, and when it stops, the image, which is a little blurry at first, it seems obvious, and, I guess that in his condition of full resolution.  So, I think it means that the version full resolution has downloaded to the library of Photos of my MBA, is that correct?  If this is true, in theory, I suppose that the library will grow in size that I continue to click on the photos to see and with a large library in the cloud - 110 + Go - I could fill the hard drive of the MBA, which has only 22 GB of available.

In the preferences of Photos, it seems not be an option to avoid this problem.  In preferences, iCloud screen, the options are "Download original" - just what it says, or optimize Mac Storage, which stores in the clouds and also "stored on the Mac (MBA) If you have enough storage space."

    Thank you.

Yes you are right that has downloaded full resolution version when you open a picture.

It will stay there if you have enough room, but once you start to get low disk space, photos start automatically re-optimization of the uploaded photos as and when necessary.

  • Photostream not showing on imac

Where is my photostream in the pictures on the mac, I photostream enabled on my iphone and the mac, but the photos (if ever) just haphazzardly appear on my mac, none of the photos I took yesterday are able to be viewed on my mac, they are simply not there, (please don't go icloud photo library as I don't want to use it) becomes bad enough when its faster and easier to open safari (if it freezes not) go to google pictures and find the images there!

I want to use Apple so nobody knows why it will not work... photostream is enabled on both devices. (At some point in the distant going it worked)

In the perfect world I would just take a picture on my iphone and copied it on my mac and be able to remove it on my iphone without it being removed from my mac... is - too much to ask!

Please if you just try and keep useful and not bored because im not finding perfect apple.

    Thank you

It sounds like you have more problems than myPhotoStream

Open safari (if it does not freeze)

and you say that you have OS X 10.11.1 - the current version is what OS X 10.11.5 - far to 10.11.5 and who can fix things

specifically about PHM works and it is not instantaneous and must it connectivity so that are many potential problems, including bad internet or no.

  • Photostream

Photostream folder does not appear in my photos on my iPad Pro application.

All iOS updates are up to date.

I tried switching off Photostream (several times) in

Settings > iCloud > iCloud photo library

    &

Settings > iCloud > download to my Photostream

Whenever I turn on both of them, I see it's 854 download pictures but still no folder Photostream.

I can take a picture with the iPad and it will appear on my iPhone Photostream.

If all goes well, I'm missing a simple process and not a hardware problem.

    Hi marckilsyth

If you prefer to use the photo stream, you will need to disable iCloud photo library.

iCloud library turns photo streams as it is then not necessary and download all your photos on the cloud.

iCloud photo library will count against your iCloud storage space where the photo stream keeps only 30 days of photos in iCloud to allow the rest of your devices in sync. This does not count against your iCloud storage because it is only temporary storage for the purposes on.y synchronization.

  • photostream ios7 not synchronized with ios9 icloud photo library?

The title of my post is actually also my question.

I have an iPad2/iOS7x. Not wanting to update since I saw that another older I became practically useless when I updated to iOS8, then iOS9.

I used services iCloud and Photostream on it - everything is normally backed to the cloud with no problems.

I recently bought an iPhone6/iOS9. While I was setting this up I was asked if I wanted to move to iCloud photo library. I did, but now I realized that:

1 iPad2/iOS7 photos does not synchronize on iPhone6

2 iPad2/iOS7 photos appear not anywhere in the pictures on www.icloud.com application

3 iPhone6/iOS9 photos does not sync on iPad 2/iOS7

So my question is: are these two versions iOS7 incompatible iOS9 about the timing of the photo?

    Hi love,

I understand that you have some question about iCloud photo library and Photo streams. Let's see if we can clarify this.

The extent of iCloud photo library, yes iOS 7 is not compatible. Your devices will have to be at least 8.3 iOS to see all of your library or upgrade to iOS 9 on all your devices. Now, you can still have my stream of photos or iCloud, sharing photos to go to iOS devices 7, but you wouldn't have the entire library, like on iOS devices 9. Take a glance at the article below for details on what the requirements are for iCloud will go.

    Greetings,

First of all, I would like to only put _copies_ on the iPad, so they can be removed easily

I would like to be able to do it from the iPad itself, if possible.

You of course can do so from the only iPad

You can do this by using MyPHotoStream, shared PhotoStreams or iTunes sync
