PID control Windows THIS Labview application

Hello

I want to build an application that will control the temperature in ovens, using the PID command. The application will run in a controller (or a computer touch panel) with windows CE OS. I have Labview 8.6, the PID control 8.6 toolkit and Touch panel 8.6 module. The problem is that the vi PID does not seem to work on the touch panel module.

Is it possible to implement the PID control in a Labview windows CE application?

Thanks in advance.

I think that with a timed loop you can run a reasonable opportunity to 1 mSecond. I think 1 mSecond is the lower limit for the real-time systems like Windows/windows CE. And if you have the PID toolkit that will provide you with the features you need. You need not additional tools kit this PID. This because the touch panel module run under your standard Labview environment. But I don't know if the functions of the tool of PID like fuzzy logic are compatible with THIS. Have you also thought Windows Embedded as an operating system for your module. With windows Embedded, you can run standard Labview built of exe files

Both Windows Embedded XP Embedded can be dragged

    Hello

I use version 8.5 of LabVIEW Application Builder to deploy my standalone executable. I have never had a problem on Windows XP and have been very successful on Windows 7 installation. But now I have a client who gets the following error in Windows 7 (but the same installation package works very well for him on XP machines):

    Installing NO-SUN 1.7.0f0, part 10 of 19 with error 1722.

Error 1722.  There is a problem with this windows package install.  A program run as part of the Setup did not finish as expected.  Contact your provider to support personal or package.  Contiunue Y or N.

(Engineers application OR in particular) anyone have any ideas? (My contract has expired. I think that there is a way to report bugs, but is there a way to contact support OR directly in addition to this forum?)

    Thanks for any help.

    UPDATE:

Good news! My client back to me and told me it was his anti-virus (Trend Micro) that caused the error. When he disabled as I suggested (which I have a base of knowledge OR "Error 1722" article), the installation was successful.

Thank you all until next time...

  • Shut down the PC after the release of the labview application.

    Dear friends,

I want to make application in labview so that... when somebody will start PC this labview application should run. and PC shouldn't be able to do any other task instead of running the labview application. and PC should get the stop after the release of the application in labview. Please tell me how to do this.

    Kind regards

    Vijtin

I think you're able to rebuild on a photo (I can't record to 7.0). If this isn't the case you take a Labview courses such as 'introduction to the introduction to the Labview programmers' and if you see in my first post to you, you will find the description of the shutdown command.

  • Installation of construction LabVIEW application disables the Windows Device Manager? Help on how to diagnose the problem?

Please can anyone shed light on this, or suggest where to look?

I built an application using the Application Builder of LV2014 (32 bit).

On a Win7 X 64 PC at work, it installs and runs ok.

On Win7 X 64 PC at the customer, it installs ok, but then after Windows restarts on demand 'device manager' no longer works and there are some unchangeable registry entries associated with nipalu. The client runs Symantec security software. A client COMPUTER technician is suggesting that LabVIEW is interacting with device drivers and this is the origin of the problem, but we do not know how to go further. It is not really acceptable to deploy computers where the Windows Device Manager no longer works. Surprisingly, the application itself works always - it's just Windows which messed up.

    Thank you

Thanks for the suggestions. The company IT guy has not been able to talk to a person in NI UK support (no one was available), but he managed to keep it down to a problem with Dell Data Protection encryption Enterprise Edition. Delete first, then install the LabVIEW application, then reinsert DDPE gave a system where everything worked.

We have built apps that used progressively more labview drivers (vision, labview base; digital i/o)

  • How a LabVIEW application can be run from the account invited in Windows 7?

I want to do some of my labVIEW available visitors to temporary applications (no DAQ or involved external devices) in the laboratory. A natural choice would be the guest account in Windows 7, but if I try to run LabVIEW or one of my LabVIEW applications built, I get the following error message.

I don't know that this can probably be fixed with a few permission settings. What is the best way to enable these applications running from the guest account?

I think that the easiest thing would be to create another user account and set the permissions on that if guests are unable to get into the stuff you don't want them getting into.

  • . Misfortunes of ICO in the Windows registry for my LabVIEW Application

Wow, adding that last bit of spit-and-shine in a LabVIEW program can turn into any process.

I defined a type of file with a .tpml (XML file of the temperature profile).  When my user double clicks on a file of this type, it launches my LabVIEW application.  All this is worked and works well.  I even setup for my program add entries to Windows registry key so that the .tpml file type is associated with my program executable.  This is related to my previous post here.

The problem I have is that I did a fantasy for my LabVIEW program icon and these well DOCUMENTED files.  The problem is that the key of Windows registry entry that associates this file in my program, causing the ATTESTED to the 16 icon file icon x 16 my program executable.  If I remove the association in the register, it goes back to the .ico file I made.

I don't know if I can add my ATTESTED to my .exe file icon so that an association between the two causes the correct icon to be displayed in Windows, or if there is some other entry registry key that I need to do to replace Windows and requires to use my DOCUMENTED file. ICO for the icon.  Anyone know?

These are the registry keys that makes my Installer:

    HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\

    .tpml = "tpmlfile".

    . tpml\DefaultIcon = [INSTALLDIR] data\TPMLFile.ico

tpmlfile = temperature profile XML file

    tpmlfile\shell\open\command = [INSTALLDIR] Profile Editor.exe '%1 '.

I have all of the isthmus and the brightness I want in this program with the exception of this problem with the icons (less a few problems the keyboard TAB).  As I said, if I remove the entry "tpml\shell\open\command" in the registry, the DefaultIcon works OK.  With this registry in place entry, it uses by default the icon 16 x 16 for "Profile Editor.exe".

    Any ideas?

Thank you very much for your time and input!

    -Nic

The solution was that I needed the DefaultIcon key as a child of tpmlfile entry NOT .tpml.  Here is my final registry keys that work like a champ!

    HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\

    .tpml = "tpmlfile".

tpmlfile = temperature profile XML file

    tpmlfile\DefaultIcon = [INSTALLDIR] data\TPMLFile.ico

    tpmlfile\shell\open\command = [INSTALLDIR] Profile Editor.exe '%1 '.

  • I'm not able to install both on the same PC LabVIEW applications. I have uninstall the first application in order to install the second. Is there a way to avoid this?

I wrote two LabVIEW applications. The first acquires data from three different devices, displays the data and writes it to a file. The second application reads the data and displays it on the screen.

Can I install the first application and run it, but I can only install the second application if I uninstall the first application.

Any ideas as to why this is happening?

You install applications by using a Setup program created with the application builder to LV?

What LV version do you use?

You have a dedicated for each installer build script, or do you still want to change the settings of a single build script (which would be a reason for this behavior!)?

    hope this helps,

    Norbert

  • control labview through labview application.

Hello guys, I was wondering if I can do what the title says, let me explain, I have only (executable) Labview application on my PC, I don't have the source code for this application, I take this opportunity to test the signals from some analog cards.

Go, though the procedure to test this its fully manual, you must be clicking on things like 'accept' and it gives you dradles result at the same time, I want to see if its posible to have an another executable labview that does all this instead of me and Recollet entry information and present a summary at the end. It's like automate the test.

    Thanks in advance

You might be able to do this via the server of VI.  And even that would be a lot of work to make it work.  You will need to know a lot about code in the executable file to run.  In all honesty, he would probably be easier for you to rewrite the other program to do what you ask.

  • LabVIEW application developed on windows can be installed under linux?

    Hi all

I use suite developer LabVIEW 2009 on windows 7 PC. I was wondering if the application created with labview on PC can be deployed on the linux platform? If not, is it possible to develop the LabVIEW application on windows to deploy on linux platform?

I was also wondering if computers single-board as Beagleboard, Raspberry Pi are loaded with linux, labview application can be deployed on these computers?

(in simpler words, I wonder, with existing suite of Labview 2009 developer on windows, can I develop a data acquisition application and deploy it on single-board computers that have linux installed on them.)

    Thank you!

    Nilesh-

To create an exe on a Linux platform, you need LabVIEW for Linux with its application builder. You can open the source on the Linux machine.

A window of any application automatically get reduced to a minimum when the pointer of the mouse in not on this window. It's really annoying me for the last two days. Help, please

    Hello amazigh Chanda,

-Did you change on your computer before the show?

    Follow the following troubleshooting methods:

    Method 1:

I suggest to put the computer in a clean boot state and then check if it helps. You can start Windows by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs. This type of boot is known as a "clean boot". A clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts.

To set up the computer in a clean boot, follow the steps in the link: How to perform a clean boot

Note: After checking in the clean boot, follow step: 7 article to reset your computer to normal startup.

    Method 2:

Run System File Check to fix the corrupted system files and then check how it works.

Check the link 'How to use the tool File Checker system to troubleshoot missing or corrupted system files on Windows Vista or Windows 7' to run the System File Check.

Note: He may request DVDs windows of difficulty and allowing SFC to do more than minor repairs. Could some of the files saved on your computer are deleted when fixing corrupted files.

    Method 3:

Download Microsoft Safety Scanner, then scan your computer for viruses and malware then check how it works.

You can download Microsoft Safety Scanner from the link "scan to Microsoft Security.

Note:  The Microsoft Safety Scanner ends 10 days after being downloaded. To restart a scan with the latest definitions of anti-malware, download and run the Microsoft Safety Scanner again. All data that are infected must be cleaned only by deleting all of the data, which means that there is a risk of data loss.

  • PID control with big delay in the process variable

    Hello

My goal is to control the temperature via a valve and heat exchanger. I proceeded variable (temperature) measured from a hose. This temperature should be raised a few degrees with a heat exchanger. So basically I need to order a valve that allows the water to flow through the heat exchanger to raise the temperature to the desired level.

My original plan was to use a base PID regulation to operate the dispenser. However, it is about 0.5 to 1 minute of delay time in the temperature probe after I opened the valve, which increases the temperature. This leads to a situation where the PID regulation valve fully open during this period (trying to get the temperature rise). Then once the temperature begins to rise it fires quite quickly. PID begins turning the tap off almost immediately, but because of the time delay in the sensor, the temperature exceeds seriously. This led to severe oscillation and at worst unstable processes. I tried to adjust the PID control to "predict" the timer to close the valve in advance to minimize the excess, but failed.

I would appreciate if anyone has any ideas how to make this type of control with Labview PID functions. I also wonder if there is a better type of control procedure for this scenario as a PID control?

    -Lars

This is a very common situation in the heating control, and generally PID can be adjusted to make it work. How do you do the tuning? If you do it by trial and errors, you have little chance to succeed. For a slow process with time delay, I like to use the method Cohen Coons, or similar open Ziegler-Nichols-loop method. The idea is that you temporarily remove or disable the PID. Set the valve in a fixed position and wait for the temperature to stabilize. Then, change the setting of the valve and record temperature at regular intervals data until the temperature is stable again to a new value. Use these data to get the initial values of PID using the equations provided by the tuning method you choose.

  • Oscillation of PID control

    Hello

I have a loop of circulating water, and I control the temperature in the following way:

The sensor is a thermistor bridge, this bridge is driven with an accuracy of 5V reference (http://www.voltagestandard.com/New_Products.html). The output of this bridge is connected to a nanovoltmeter Keithley 2182. My LabView PID control (I bought the PID toolkit) drives a current source Keithley 2400 which is connected to a water - air heat exchanger Peltier solid state. On the side of this heat exchanger air is at a controlled temperature of the cabinet (air temperature stability is +-0.02 Celsius). The thermistor Bridge gives a signal of 50 mV/Kelvin to the excitement of 5V.

I have attached a photo where you can see measurement of a time data (sampling rate of 1 Hz). In general, I have a stability +-3rd-6 volt (standard deviation), which corresponds to the stability of Kelvin +-6-5.

I've set this PID command with the Ziegler-Nicholes tuning protocol standard, then first that I brought the stable oscillation system, and I measured the ultimate period time (1.375 minutes), and the nec plus ultra (147). The table Z - N gave to these values the following PID parameters:

    P = 86.47

    I have 0,687 min =

    D = min 0,171

Overall, I am satisfied with my temperature control, but I'm looking for advice how to remove the visible oscillatory effect. This oscillation has a period of about 30-40 minutes, as you can see in the picture.

Is there something I could try to make my even more precise control? (it is also possible that I'm already at the possible gate given by the structural limits...)

    Thank you very much!

    Martins wrote:

Can trace you to the output of the control loop (the value being written to the power source)? Specifically, draw out of the Keithley (if available), since the PID algorithm can output values with a finer resolution the Keithley can generate; Otherwise, around the PID output to match the resolution of the Keithley. See if the current alternates constantly between two specific output values, or if the output is continuously evolving during the swing.

What I think is happening, is that you have reached the limit of resolution of the power source, in this case, it will be difficult to eliminate this oscillation using PID, because the current source cannot output the exact value that you would allow to maintain the equilibrium temperature. If it does, the output changes between the two values from the nearest exit of you and you will always have a swing. You can try to increase the full gain (reduce integration time) to see if you can get a faster response and reduce the amplitude of the oscillation, but the trade-off is perhaps more great overtaking when you change the set value.

  • Stand-alone labview application (.exe file) does not run correctly

    Hi all

I'm doing a labview application only to run on another computer (I never did this before).

I went through the tools-> build application prompts and was able to build an exe file.

the program is supposed to control a power meter and measures of power, then save them in a text file.

When I run the exe, on the same computer, I compiled the exe, the program generates a text file to save data to, but he cannot communicate with the electricity meter.

There are a few screws Sub and a dll file that are used to communicate with the electricity meter. Would it be possible that I am not say labview to correctly

include these files when I create an executable?

What are some common problems that arise when building stand alone applications that could be cause of my problems?

And no one knows of any good tutorials on building applications stand alone in labview, other than the help files OR?

    Thanks for your help,

Also, if you used the VISA, include the runtime with your Installer.

  • PID control cool instead of heat

    Hello world

I had a quick question about the PID vi in labview. I use it to try to cool an a box (measured with a thermocouple) and maintain at a certain temperature. The PID controls a fan that changes speeds in order to cool the area. My problem is that when I ran, I noticed that he seems to think that he has to turn less in order to cool the area (in other words not turn). Whenever I put my temperature is superior to the temperature, the fan would work, but below, it would not.

The fan will always be in a framework where the instrument will be greater than or equal to the desired temperature. Therefore the PID of the fan should work to lower the temperature, not more. Right now he seems to think that it is more than a heating unit. Does anyone know how to do this?

    Ed

Try a negative gain factor.  She will reverse the action of the PID.
