Playing DVDs with WMP
I have a friend who has a relatively new Inspiron 1420 with Vista Business (bought Oct ' 07). Just recently, he tried to play a DVD for the first time and when the DVD is loaded, Windows Media Player (v11) came and acted as if he was going to play, but then disappeared instantly... He has worked for music and other video files WMP, but apparently always disappeared when he was asked to play DVDs.
This could be just an MPEG2 decoder missing? I looked for the supplied DVD player, but not found in the programs... If it is not included with Vista Business?
Thank you

He tells me to update the video driver or install a new video card.I can't use Intervideo WinDVD to play discs because wnaspi32.dll is missing. I can download it on the web, but it becomes just as much as my office. Anyone know where I should put wnaspi32.dll and how much?
Someone had this problem? How did you solve this problem?
Thank you.

Hello
Stack Bluetooth can be downloaded from the Toshiba BT Portal:
http://APS2.toshiba-tro.de/Bluetooth/WMP or the Real player can't handle the DVD because you need a codec package that contains the codec MPEG-2 and MPEG-4.
Check this thread:

Can I rip from a DVD and burn it to a DVD with WMP 11?
I have movies at home I want to rip from a DVD and burn another DVD. Is that possible with WMP 11 or do I have to buy software for the specific task? The DVD I have is DVD + R, I want to burn to a DVD-R format so it will play on my DVD player.

Works very well with GOM Player and quicktime
For most of the vids downloaded from youtubeHello
Windows Media Player has no native support for the mp4 file. You will need to install an MPEG-4 decoder for play. For more details, see the following article:

Problems of slow performance in Vista when playing music with WMP 11
Whenever I'm playing music on WMP 11, my computer slows down briefly.
I assume this has something to do with my sound driver/card, but don't know what.
I use my PC sound card. I use the Logitech Z-5 speakers.
Please keep in mind that I have recently reinstalled Vista on this computer, and before replacing, I had no such problem. I currently use the same drivers I did then.
I have Vist Home Premium, 32-bit.
Hi EugeneGluskin
1. the music files that you play on the same computer or on a remote site?
2. do you have the updated drivers for the sound card?
3. What is the brand and model of the computer with sound card?
You can perform a clean boot and check if you are facing the same question to the clean boot. To perform the clean boot follow step 1 mentioned in the article below, and then try again check in the clean boot state -
http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929135
If the problem is resolved check which service non-Microsoft is the source of the problem; referring to article and following the other steps.
When you are finished troubleshooting, follow these steps to reset the computer to start as usual:a. Click Start, type msconfig.exe in the start search box and press ENTER.
If you are prompted for an administrator password or for confirmation, type your password, or click on continue.b. on the general tab, click the Normal startup option and then click OK.
c. When you are prompted to restart the computer, click on restart.
I hope this helps.

WMP will not play dvd - r with the video on this subject:
Audio WMP plays well. But no video. My panasonic dvd player (about 4 years) there will be no more. A friend told me to go on a free website, www.filehippo. to download a "fix." Don't know what I ' d be downloaded, because I am NOT tech savvy. " I have download all 'old' versions as my friend says. I tried windows again, not good. Used the two bays of dvd in my lap. I am at a loss, my ignorance, but I could sure use some SIMPLE instructions as to why and how to fix it.
I tried the Windows Fixit tool, but no help. ALSO, I frequently get a box of Windows ERROR when you try to load files from the web or e-mails down. It usually says: windows cannot open this file: unrecognized program. "Then it tells me to click for the solution, but don't know which software to use and I stop trying, cause the error message arrives for this too. sigh.
I know it's probably a 'newbie' question, but your help would be appreciated. I think this question will come and the problem with windows is not not able to download is fairly common as well. Thanks for any help. Sincerely, debbie in Florida.
Hi, I think I've gotten help to solve my problem with playback of DVDs with different codes that WMP will accept. I downloaded a NEW multimedia player of BS to WWW.filehippo.com/download bsplayer/8842/who worked for the media BS player. I got help with THAT download to get, I got the SECOND version listed on the left column. Now works on computer, next step is to get the "firmware" for Panasonic download on my dvd player, and it will play as well. Thanks for the help, I finally learned enough searched all day Sunday (ugh) and then my friend helped me on the phone. Thank you all and hope that it helps you, too. CODECS, which kne w?

WMP/WMC is unable to play DVD audio
I had a problem for a lot of time with Windows Media Player/Windows Media Center PERSON DO seems able to diagnose or difficult. WMP all my audio files, CDs and the sound system plays very well. However, whenever I try to play a DVD, the video game played very well but there is no audio data. Then, I lose all the sounds until I restart. I downloaded a freeware program that allows me to see the video and hear the sound of DVDs very well as well as the material works very well. The problem is with WMP/WMC. I tried to reload/upgrade to update WMP, but that did not work. I can be lack of Codecs, but I have no idea of who or how to download the forms. The problem is probably with WMP/WMC, but no support, my manufacturer of computers or Microsoft seems to be able to solve the problem. I think I'll use VLC Media Player as my default DVD player. Any suggestions?
Hello
You need Codec - get these if 32 bit Vista.
CCCP - free - also get free of insurgents tool
http://CCCP-project.NET/FFDSHOW - free
http://sourceforge.NET/projects/ffdshow/Check here:
Plug-ins for Windows Media Player
http://www.Microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/player/plugins.aspx---------------------------------------
VLC needs, of no use so usually Codec as a backup when asked to support associations of files just say no.
VLC - free
http://www.videolan.org/VLC/-------------------------------------------------------------
If 64 bits and you need codec.
Read this 1st and go that route, or use the one below.
http://www.Vistax64.com/sound-audio/152850-Vista-codec-pack-32bit-64bit-Media-Player-codecs.html
--------------------------------------------------------------------
If 64-bit Vista - can run WMP in 32 or 64 bit mode.
Or try these: download - SAVE - go to the place where your put them RIGHT CLICK – RUN AS ADMIN.
For 32-bit use them - OR those listed above that I prefer.
K - Lite Codec Pack 5.0.5 & K-Lite Codec Pack 5.0.5 update
http://www.codecguide.com/Use them for 64-bit:
K - Lite Codec Pack (64-bit) 2.6.0
http://www.codecguide.com/-------------------------------------------------------------
You know that you use WMP 32 or 64-------------------------------------------------------------
And you can use it when necessary because no codex is usually required.
VideoLAN - VLC media player

Plays fine in WMP, when it is burned to DVD long gaps between tracks
I made a movie of photo with music, edited, saved, double checked in WMP, but when it is burned on a DVD, there are long breaks/gaps between some songs that isn't here on WMP, frustrated, must be for the funeral
As in windows movie maker... For Vista, there is an upgrade for him, the version must be v2.6
Also, microsoft has had a series of Encoder 9 WM, it can "convert" video, it also has many utilities
that go with... Utilities are ok at the microsoft Download Center, so are updates of the encoder, but
the encoder is not listed... Try an internet search engine, download it, open the encoder, select this option to convert
the file, create a new folder for the converted data, then try it with WMP...
