"Please ignore": double Question: PROBLEM of BACKUP RMAN

I learned that the RMAN backup command shows if a backup happened to own or not to for example:


RMAN backup report
SESSION_KEY INPUT_TYPE STATUS START_TIME, END_TIME MINUTES

The rman backup command shows that there no full backup of the DB:

The new order of 10g that gives me this info is provided below:

My alert doesnot log tell me there's an error during backup how to check my status of full DB backup as to why told you can't...

In addition I also have Oracle 9i DB but we do not have a simple command like the above in 10 g that gives me a situation report that says for DB Backup went well or not your help will be much appreciated

    The database is set to be saved with RMAN from the Manager of the company.

    The problem is, it does not remove older backups! It keeps everything from February 2007...
    There are 3600 points under the backup location...

    not found obsolete backups


    How can I delete old backup files?
    There are about 100 GB and I need to open a space!

    You are probably using RMAN without a recovery catalog database, as well as information on the backups are stored in the controlfile. It remains not forever, but as long as the parameter

    controlfile_record_keep_time

    Specifies. Default value is 7 days. If the information on your old backups ran.

    Remedy:
    Try the command

    Catalog recovery area;

    This should save all of your backups in the controlfile. Then you come back with

    delete noprompt obsolete;

    You should also

    (a) increase the value of controlfile_record_keep_time at 30 or higher
    (b) rethink your retention policy (do you really need 7 old backups?)

    I'm more curious why, when you select 2 rows, you expect a result of row?

    With no other input, if you select 2 rows, you get 2 rows.  One of the other solutions use a max function, but is this really what you want, does not specify?

    12 c database, after physical expectation is created, I need backup rman configuration,

    The goal is: a) backup of database b) remove archivelogs that have been backed up, free up space FRA.

    Design as below:

    1:

    in RMAN (primary and standby):
    RMAN >
    Configure controlfile autobackup on;
    set the type of backup device type disk compressed backupset;
    CONFIGURE ARCHIVELOG DELETION POLICY TO APPLIED ON ALL STANDBY;


    2: primary school:
    RMAN > CONFIGURE RETENTION POLICY to the 5 DAY RECOVERY WINDOW;

    3: in priamry, turn on track changes to block

    4: primary, implemented since rman level 0 (full backup) on Sunday.

    5: in the primary, the installation program rman level 1 backup from Monday to Saturday.

    6: primary, set up since rman "save archive backup delete them all obsolete" every hour;

    questions here:

    1. as in step 5, for the protection of the o and delete archivelog, the script using:

    I wonder if ' archivelog all delete all entries "will delete archivelog which was not taken on the eve of the database and broken standby database

    (hanging and out-of-sync with primary)... it is a concern, is that possible?

    2. If the primary database crashed, failover to standby mode, then restore/recovery primary, switch back to the primary, this design is just? If you have any good suggestions, please let me know.

    (to put it simply, I don't want to full/incremental backup to install standby, primary server CPU is good enough)

    You can ignore this error message. You would usually encounter this problem if the Windows Backup tries to back up files in folders LocalLow, Contacts and research and these files are not present on your computer.

    Well, you also have an option to create or exclude files missing, listed in the error message.

    If you want to exclude this folder then please refer to the following steps.

    (a) in the backup section, click on "change settings".

    (b) in the dialog box Configure the backup , click Next.

    (c) in the 'you want to save ' dialog box, click on 'Let me choose ', then click on 'Next '.

    (d) navigate to the user profile folder displayed in the error message and clear the check box next to the folders.

    (e) save and exit.

    I have a problem with restoring a backup RMAN I have with me a new instance of the database. I have with me are:

    1. backup of the SPFile. (O1_MF_NCNNF_CTLFILE_BU_92DVGYO2_. BKP)

    2. backup of the control file (O1_MF_NNSNF_SPFILE_BU_92DVGW9H_. BKP)

    3. the full backup (O1_MF_NNSNF_FULLPROD_BU_92DVGW9H_. BKP)

    I received these files to a client environment and I need to restore these to a new instance of the database on a local computer. I gave an attempt as follows (in Oracle 10 g):

    1, creates a new instance of the (Test75) database using the Oracle Database Configuration Assistant

    2 SET ORACLE_SID = Test75

    3 connection to this instance with RMAN

    4 tried to restore the SPFILE from the BKP file received.


    I make mistakes and cannot continue. I don't know if I will carry out the correct steps. Please help me telling me how I should achieve this goal.

    What is the error?  (I assume that you have tried to restore the O1_MF_NNSNF_SPFILE_BU_92DVGW9H_ SPFILE. BKP

    Note that you must also SET the DBID before restoring the controlfile

    I have an rman backup (datafile and controlfile) who got caught in an instance of the DSO (not a RAC) ORACLE 11.2.0.2 on a server Linux, now I want to restore the backup into a new database under windows/Linux OS with storage system (single instance RDBMS) General files instead of ASM.

    Is this possible?

    I can restrore an rman backup ASM in a mechanisim of storage of file in a new server system?

    Please clarify my question.

    All these settings should reflect your current environment, any reference to the old environment must be changed.

    All file system used:
    No matter what you use the file (datafile/redolog/controlfile/archivelog/backuppiece) file system are created on binary Format that depend only on platform. Thus, the file binary (for example datafile) have same format and content on the device gross, ASM, ext3, ext2 and so on. Thus, for the database, it is just a place where the files are stored, but the file are the same. ASM has a different architecture of the regular file system and must be managed differently (IE with RMAN).

    On the database:
    Given that your database files are the same even different file system using what you need is rename your files from data/redofiles on controlfile during the restoration, the redo files will be recreated.
    So, no matter if your database are noarchivelog or archivelog, in the same way you do a restore on ASM is the same way to restore the regular file system. (just rename the database during restore controlfile)

    On blog post 'How to migrate all files on ASM to no - ASM (Unix/Linux)' is suddenly of system files to another folder. But you can change the script used for restore purposes;

    ## set newname tell to RMAN where file will be restored and keep this files location on memory buffer
RMAN> set newname for datafile 1 to ;

### swich get list of files from memory buffer (rman) and rename on controlfile the files already restored.

    Oh dear. Well. You simply respond with precision to my posted question seems to have marked "resolved". This forum is a nightmare, I'm sorry, but that's how I feel it. I can't even tape all the corrections I write the message, because the type will not appear if I type some thing what what else. I am until 05:00 after trying to deal with the last update of iTunes. Apparently, nobody believes in if it's not broke don't solve this problem, more. So, Yes, the nightmare continues.

    I regret to have updated my iTunes to 12 points, today no matter what. I used to just uncheck a song for the have deleted from my camera when synchronized, but still in my library iTunes for possible later use. Please, please tell me that the feature is still there somehow.

    After the update, I see it's songs with controls grayed out by them... No matter how much I click the checkmarks, they remain the same, checked. It seems no more unchecking.

    Uncheck the box in the library and then synchronize the iPod with the library.

    I had to uninstall iTunes a few months ago and successfully re-installed, but part of my music was missing.   At one point, following the instructions on a thread on the forums Apple or Microsoft, I saved my music library on the desktop. Since then, I do not have a library of music on the desktop file.  In my looooooong hours trying to fix things, I do not know if I deleted it or what.

    Now, I get the message:

    "Backup has encountered a problem during backup of the C:\windows\system32\config\systemprofile\Desktop\music file. Error: (System does not find the specified path. (0 x 8007003)) "whenever I have backup my computer.

    As I understand it, that does not affect really any other files, they rely on the spot (I think), but

    HOW CAN I GET RID OF THIS MESSAGE? or what is the cause?  Of course, I could use help in simple English, step by step, as I'm not very techno...

    As indicated by the error, this problem appears, when these files/libraries that are saved automatically are not present on your computer. I suggest you to follow the steps below and check, if it can help solve the problem.

    • Create missing files that are listed in the error message.
    • Exclude files from the files to backup in the backup settings and then include these files in their original location. To exclude folders in other communities and to include these files in the original location, follow these steps:
      1. In Control Panel, open backup and restore.
      2. In the section back up , click change settings.
      3. In the dialog box Configure the backup , click Next.
      4. In the dialog box that you want to save , click Let me choose, and then click Next.
      5. Expand data files, library, expand additional locations, and then click to clear the check boxes folder AppData, Contactsand Research .
      6. Expand computers, expand the element of your system drive (for example, expand Local disk (c)), expand users, , and then click to select the checkboxes AppData, Contactsand Research if they exist.
      7. Click Next, and then click Save settings and exit.
      8. Backup and restore, click back up now to perform a new backup. The backup operation must complete without errors.

    If the problem persists, I suggest you follow the steps in the following article for troubleshooting backup problems.

    This is the error message I get after several days of decline in dropbox, my Norton, saying that he was sure loading! I have read and re read most of what people have written, and I have no idea!     I am looking for a way to automate the deletion of backups RMAN old days only after the occurrence of a success. At the present time, I have daily backups of L0 via crontab, and I need to create a script that can tell if a successful backup is done, then delete the old L0 if it has. Any suggestions on how to start? I'm stuck in code to see if a successful backup has been performed.

    Hi, I'm kinda a newbie to RMAN and I want to change on my existing backup strategy to use this. Before I had taken a cold backup to tape every night.

    Q. I now intend to use RMAN to backup online all night at the FRA and then once a day unloading FRA tape - is this a typical strategy of RMAN?

    Q. a backupset consists of 4 parts. Archives of newspapers, control file, archive during backup logs and files database, SPFILE. What is the first set of archive logs? for example, these necessary logs to recover since the last backup to the current point in time? I'm not sure if you take a backup then what you need to roll forward bare?

    Q. is the last piece of the backup of the archives set connects always contain a minimum of 1 that is backup RMAN itself actually causes a switch of implicit journal?

    Q. don't each backup includes the control file and the SPFILE (or find you only it is you have AutoSave enabled?)

    Q. If I want to be able to restore 2 days ago, it's better if use, a redundancy of 2 or in a detention policy window 2 day recovery? I think that if for some reason, I had more than 1 backup for a given day, I would not be guaranteed to be able to restore 2 days ago? (I know flashback Database is another alternative, but at the mpoment I focus on rethinking my RMAN ability)

A copy of the picture made it not actually a copy of these or is it just to use the same directory as LOG_ARCHIVE_DEST_1?

    Q. I now intend to use RMAN to backup online all night at the FRA and then once a day unloading FRA tape - is this a typical strategy of RMAN?

    I can't say what is a 'typical' strategy unless I have seen implementations of RMAN at least 50 different stations however, some sites to make backups on live band, some sites do backups disk and then use the methods RMAN or non-RMAN to copy from disk to tape.

    Q. a backupset consists of 4 parts. The newspaper archives, file database files, SPFILE & control, archiving during the backup logs. What is the first set of archive logs? for example, these necessary logs to recover since the last backup to the current point in time? I'm not sure if you take a backup then what you need to roll forward bare?

    Not necessarily 4.  Could be more, could be less - depends what backup commands you run and data files, how many there are in the database.  The first 'series' is archivelogs * ONLY IF * you run a BACKUP of DATA PLUS ARCHIVELOG command.  Otherwise, if you run the BACKUP DATABASE and BACKUP ARCHIVELOG orders, you would separate sets of backup.  (Most sites run ARCHIVELOG BACKUP separately and more frequently than DATABASE BACKUP).    You need ArchiveLogs in all cases restore + restore other then the case where you are restoring a backup cold and don't not updating.

    It is based on the commands that you use.

    Q. don't each backup includes the control file and the SPFILE (or find you only it is you have AutoSave enabled?)

    Only if you CONFIGURE CONTROLFILE AUTOBACKUP ON.  You should also be careful and where will these record - if you use an MRE and do not replace it with a clause FORMAT, they go to the FRA.  Otherwise, they go to the location of FORMAT.  Or go in $ORACLE_HOME/dbs

    Q. If I want to be able to restore 2 days ago, it's better if use, a redundancy of 2 or in a detention policy window 2 day recovery? I think that if for some reason, I had more than 1 backup for a given day, I would not be guaranteed to be able to restore 2 days ago?

    You must configure a recovery window.  Your suspicion is correct.  Two backups in one day meet 2 dismissal policy, thus making OBSOLETE backup from the night before.

    Q. If my control_file_record_keep_time is 7 days and I want to restore my database for say more than 7 days ago I have to preload a backup tape in my FRA of the 7 days ago or more and then do a cross check to the RMAN backup?

    Even with a control_file_record_keep_time of 7 days, the control file can contain information more than 7 days (for example, if you had 700 archivelogs in 7 days and expanded control file to contain 700 entries in the past, but now you have only 10 archivelogs per day, it may contain entries for 70 days of the archivelogs).

    You need to do a CATALOG (not OVERLAP) entered catalog for the files not present in the controlfile.

    A stratgey alternative is to use a catalog schema (database of repository) and do not rely on the single control file.

    Q. the list only list backup of backup sets? Do you need to use the copy of the list to see the image copy backup?

    Yes.

    Q. I find reading is not particularly nice backup list!

    You will have to live with it.  Individually, you can wish LIST BACKUP OF THE DATA file for each data file or LIST SUMMARY of BACKUP.

    A copy of the picture made it not actually a copy of these or is it just to use the same directory as LOG_ARCHIVE_DEST_1?

    Copy of the image applies only to data files (there is also a CONTROLFILECOPY) not archivelogs.   ARCHIVELOG backups RMAN are BackupSets.
