Plug my 6s continues to open the Photos app even after controlling for him?

With the help of an iPhone 6 9.2 running. As a Mac Pro (mid-2012) running 10.11.2. When I plug my phone in, the Photos app opens wanting import me all my photos. I'm not interested by this on this machine, since it is a work computer, so I'm going to Capture Image and tell the computer not to open any application, when I plug in my phone. However, it seems that if I go a day or two without connecting to the work, it immediately at the opening of the Photos app is once again going even if I put it above to not open any application when it is plugged.

Any thoughts on why this keeps happening? Does not seem serious whether or not I restarted my computer, it will do the same thing anyway.

Hello bdouglas,.

Thank you for using communities of Apple Support.

I understand that you don't want pictures to launch whenever you have your iPhone connected to your work computer.  It's quite understandable, so to get this option changed, please follow the steps below.

  1. Plug in your iPhone
  2. Select your iPhone from the column on the left in Photos
  3. Deselect the checkbox next to 'Open pictures for this device'
  4. Photos of quit smoking

After you follow these steps, Photos should more be opened whenever you connect the iPhone to your work computer.

Take care.

  • Update iOS10 to post the photo app shows for 2 GB with no photos

the photo app is 2 GB. There is no photos or recorded videos, but that's still 2 GB

    Hi 38sanjudas,

I understand that you see 2 GB of space used by your Photos app, despite not having anything that is stored. I know it's important to get the most out of your storage space, so I'm happy to help you.

It is important to note that when you delete a photo on your iPhone, it is not permanently deleted and will go to the album recently removed in case it needs to be recovered. If it is not emptied, he can fill and take a storage capacity as well. You can learn more about this in our article here:

    Permanently delete photos

If you want to permanently delete your pictures or your videos within 30 days, you can remove them from the album recently deleted. When you delete a photo in this album, you can't get it back.

    1. Open the Photos app and go to the Albums tab.
    2. Open the recently deleted album and press Select.
    3. Click on each photo or video that you want to permanently delete.
    4. Press DELETE.

Why the iPhone 6plus will not open photos app on mac pro for IOS 10 update.
A message appears on the iphone asks you to trust the computer it is attached (mac pro 10.10.5)

You type 'Confidence' and nothing happens. the photos on mac app publishes this message.

This Mac not yet have been granted access to the media on 'my iPhone '. To import media to this Mac, press 'Trust' on 'my iPhone '. You must first unlock the device.

This actually solved for me after going to settings, General, reset, reset the location and privacy... and then plug in the unit and pressing the trust... hope that works for others.

The contents of the iPhoto library "copy of iPhoto library" has already been migrated to Photos.  Open the Photos to display your library or use a compatible version of iPhoto to open the iPhoto library.

    What you trying to do?

You want to open your iPhoto library in iPhoto or the new Photos.app?  and what version of Mac OS X and iPhoto you have installed on your Mac?

If you have improved your Mac to Mac OS X 10.11,2, El Capitan, you can open your photo libraries or in News Photos for application mac or you can continue to use iPhoto, but only iPhoto 9.6.1 will work on El Capitan.

IPhoto update (see user tip of Barney: cannot be updated iPhoto because it is not available in the App Store)

Once an iPhoto Library was opened in Photos the extension will change to ".migratedphotolibrary".  To open this library in iPhoto again, change the extension of filename in '.photolibrary '.

  • Could not open the Photos after Snow Leopard update to El Capitan

I have an iMac 3.06 GHz, which has been updated to El Capitan on January 15. Most of the things were going well with the transition, but it seems to be "stuck" now between iPhoto and photo - I don't know how else to put it, but I can't open the Photos. When I click on it in the Dock, I get the attached screenshot. It has been like that for several years I did the update to El Capitan. At first, it seemed that iPhoto has been migrated correctly to Photos during the update. But then, after clicking on my backup external to iPhoto, it appeared that if the migration process began all over again.  I now have the image shown on the attached screenshot. He's been stuck on '50% complete' for several days. When I try to stop the Photos I get: "Can't leave the Photos when creating or opening a library."

After doing some checks for similar problems in previous posts, I was clued in to take a look at my Applications folder. And here, it lists the following multiple iPhoto libraries:

iPhoto Library... January 15, 2016 (Date last opened)

    iPhoto Library - old... January 15, 2016.

    iPhoto Library - old... January 29, 2016.

    iPhoto Library - old... November 26, 2015.

    iPhoto Library... November 25, 2016.

Clearly - even for me! -something is all fucked up here

What format is the external hard drive? Is this a Time Machine backup or EHD are used by TM? How the EHD are connected to your Mac?

And you should not have iPhoto (or pictures) libraries in your applications folder - they should be in your pictures folder

One thing to try is force quit Photos (File menu ==> force quit), and then drag the iPhoto library you want to migrate the Photos icon in the Dock (if it is in an appropriate place on an appropriate disk)

Check the permissions of the file or the folder that the file is saved in. Here's how:

Right-click on the file or folder and then click Properties.

    Click the Security tab.

Under group or user names, click your name to see the permissions you have.

To open a file, you must have the read permission. For more information on permissions, see permissions are?
