Point size of a paragraph indicating the different value in the definition

Hello!

I have two paragraphs on a page of my InDesign document. The size of the text of the two of them is 18pts. On the via the script, when I access the pointSize field in the two paragraphs (paragraph points pointSize object), it now returns 18.

But if I check in via para.appliedParagraphStyle.pointSize, he returned to 38.

Anyone could explain this behavior, or what fundamental error that I do?

  • change the point size of overset text paragraph style

    Hi guys,.

    I can't work this at all.

    I want to gradually reduce the size of the text in a block of overset text.

    I want to reduce the relative size of each paragraph for example, body text style is 9pt and 10pt subheadings, so the body of the text should reduce 8.5pt and subheading 9.5 ft.

    myDoc var = app.activeDocument;

    myTextFrame = myDoc.textFrames;

    for (i = 0; i < myTextFrame.length; i ++) {}

    While (myTextFrame [i] .overflows)

    myTextFrame [i]. ParagraphStyles.everyItem (.pointSize) - is 0.5;.

    }

    That's what I have, but I can't seem to access paragraph styles.

    Any suggestions?

    Yes, it says that all of the text of the story will have the same size text applied... but it is a simple amendment to add a loop for () to run lines 4 and 5 through each paragraph in the story rather than the full story. Try this and see how it goes.

    Hello

    I need help to find the "main point size.

    Any style of Pará which is more than 2 points of my font size, I need the alert message "His more than 2 points for your font size". For example, the font size of my para 10 here is my attack should be 12 points rather than his 14 points, I need the alert message.

  • Why my custom control to change the size, when I open it on different computers?

  • Font size set to auto but sounds different when the data are populated compared to typed manually

    I have a form where all the size of the font of fields is set to auto. When data are filled in the form in a custom program the font size appears different to the name and first name fields. When the same names are typed manually in the form (not filled in the custom program) the font size remains uniform. There is no coding in the personalized program to manipulate the fonts or the font settings. What could be the cause of the change in the appearance of the font size. Another interesting is that after the program fills in the data, I can click in the areas affected by this problem and the police will change to what it should be but set in the right size once I have quit the field. I also see that some fields when filled will not be characters fat even if the police is set to a bold font.

    When a font of a field is set to Auto, Acrobat/Reader dynamically adjust the font size to match what is entered. When not using Acrobat/Reader to populate a field, it belongs to the program to properly set the font size based on the value of the field. Adobe does not publish any algorithm they use to determine the exact size (depending on the font used and the coordinates of field), so that a third party should use a better estimate (or not even trying at all), that looks like what is happening in your case. When you click within a field by using Acrobat/Reader, the font size is adjusted dynamically, but because the value of the field does not change, it is not defined when the field loses focus.

    A possible solution would be to use JavaScript to record all the field values, reset the form and then fill in the form using the saved values, this would cause Acrobat correctly define the appearances of field.

  • Set different font sizes for certain parts of the text layer?

    I am a novice as AE is going, but I'm working on a script to dynamically change a project.

    The project in question has a text layer has a single string, but with variable font size (the text is a price, where the hundred part is a smaller font to the different initial values).   I want to use a script to change this text, but it is enough to assign a new text document does not retain the variable formatting - all figures are found with the same font size.

    Since the guide of the script, I see that the size of the font of a text document object is available, but only in a very limited form - definition of value he sets for the entire document, without options to set for a range of characters.  I would be fair to assume that programmatically create/update a document with several sizes of fonts is not possible?

    If this is the case, what would be my best options to achieve the same effect?  If the project is modified to have several layers/documents, is there a way to adjust the positioning to maintain good spacing/kerning between independent channels?  (I'm also a dollar with yet another sign size of police prior to the price, so I would have actually three pieces of text to position in my script and just to the right/left cannot justify two strings).

    Thanks for the tips!

    AFAIK, there isn't a convenient way for a script to maintain several font sizes once it changes a text document.

    You can however, use sourceRectAtTime() to get the actual span of text in a text layer, positioning and three text layers to get the desired spacing is not difficult.

  • Help: apply different styles of Pará to several consecutive paragraphs using the script

    Hi all

    I need to apply different styles of Pará to several consecutive paragraphs using the script, something like this (found somewhere on the net):

    myDoc = app.documents var [0];

    mySel var = app.selection [0];

    var myPStyle1 = "A";

    var myPStyle2 = 'B ';.

    you need to add 6 styles here:

    var myPStyle3 = 'C ';

    var myPStyle4 = "D";

    var myPStyle5 = 'E ';

    var myPStyle6 = 'F';

    var myPStyle7 = "G";

    var myPStyle8 = 'H ';

    the last style is not necessary in the script?

    apply style 1 paragraph 1

    mySel.appliedParagraphStyle = myDoc.paragraphStyles.item (myPStyle1);

    apply styles to the paragraphs after selection

    style 2

    mySel.paragraphs [-1] .insertionPoints [-1] .appliedParagraphStyle = myDoc.paragraphStyles.item (myPStyle2);

    next style

    mySel.paragraphs [-1] .insertionPoints [-1] .paragraphs [0] .insertionPoints [-1] .appliedParagrap hStyle = .nextStyle myDoc.paragraphStyles.item (myPStyle2);

    I tried a lot, but could not find the way to extend the sequence

    Sorry, no skills in the scripts still...

    all styles have "Next Style" option enabled, but I can't use ' apply style, then next style "or object styles, because I need four different sequences of these paragraph styles:

    A-B-C-D-E-F-G-H

    A-B-D-E-G-H

    A-C-D-F-G-H

    A-D-G-H

    and I don't really want to create special clones of the same style for each sequence (Keep It Simple, they say ).

    I think that this can be done through four slightly adjusted scripts...

    any suggestions would be greatly appreciated...

    Sorry to be late to the party, I usually take up such things immediately.

    How about this one?

    1. no separate necessary script, it uses a small dialog box where you can choose what style to use. If I'm not mistaken, you can press a digit key on Windows to immediately select one of the items.

    2. it works down in the paragraph in that your cursor is located. It has nothing to do with the blocks of text, even if - consecutive paragraphs within a story always ignore the text frames.

    3. extensible: you can easily change the names of the styles in the table at the top of the page and the number of groups of style in the list.

    var styleLists = [
              [ "A", "B", "C", "D", "E", "F", "G", "H" ],
              [ "A", "B", "D", "E", "G", "H" ],
              [ "A", "C", "D", "F", "G", "H" ],
              [ "A", "D", "G", "H" ]
    ];

    var radiobutts = [];

    styleDialog = app.dialogs.add ({name:"Set Multiple Styles",canCancel:true});
    with (styleDialog)
    {
              with (dialogColumns.add())
              {

  • How to format different paragraphs in the same block of text quickly

    Hello world

    I have 7 paragrahs as part of a text. How can I give a paragraph style 1,3,5,7 and 2,4,6 another syle in a quick way, by which I mean that I don't have to click on every single paragraph and the syle apple every time. Is it possible that I can apply a style to the text frame, and when I place the 7 paragraphs, they will be automatically formatted as I mentioned above. I tried to use the nested style, but I found the nested style is only used for formatting different parts of a single paragraph. Am I wrong?  It will be greatly appreciated if anyone can come back to me. Thank you!

    Simon

    If style 1 is listed as "next style" style 2 and vice versa, you can select all the text, then right click on the name of the style you Wan to apply to the first paragraph and click on apply the style and the styles and following style allows to scroll the selection.

  • AU_SIZE and the point size Variable

Note that the size of an area can vary between files, as well as in a file.

    Hi thtsang,

    Seems contradictory... The book is bad? If not, what is the threshold?

    I guess that you mix topics. The book is not bad, nor documentation... :)

    When you create a diskgroup, you set a UA (allocation units) and when a file is written in a dskgroup of ASM, it is divided in extensions. Each file extension consists of one or more allocation units. An Oracle ASM file consists of one or more file extensions.

    Read here:
    + "Each Oracle ASM disk is divided into units of allocation (in THE)." An allocation unit is the fundamental unit of distribution within a disk group. A measure of file consists of one or more allocation units. An Oracle ASM file consists of one or more file extensions. +
    + When you create a disk group, you can set the unit allocation size Oracle ASM with the disk AU_SIZE group attribute. The values can be 1, 2, 4, 8, 16, 32 or 64 MB, depending on the level of compatibility of specific disk group. Larger sizes in THE generally provide benefits of performance for data warehouse applications that use large sequential reads. » +

    and here:
    + "The contents of the Oracle ASM files is stored in a disk group as a set or collection, extensions that are stored on individual disks in disk groups. Each extension resides on an individual disk. Extensions are made up of one or more allocation units (to THE). To take account of increasingly large files, Oracle ASM uses the extensions of varying size. +
    + Variable size extensions enable large data files Oracle ASM support, reduce the needs in SGA memory for very large databases and improve performance because the file create and open operations. The size of the original measure match the allocation unit of the disk group size and it increases by a factor of 4 to 16 to predefined thresholds. This feature is automatic for data files newly created and resized when the specific disk group compatibility attributes are 11.1 or above. For more information about the attributes of compatibility, see "disk group compatibility. +
    + The extent of a file sizes as follows: +.

    + The extent size is 4 * size for sets of 20000 next measure (20000-39999). +
    + Measure size is equal to 16 * the AU for the next step of 20000 and plue size defines (40000). +

    All of this:

    Do not put anything, ASM does this, since you have to at least 11.1 compatibility attributes.

  • style character or paragraph to the text of my body?

    Which should I use, style of character or paragraph to the text of my body? When I first import text in my document, which should I apply?

    Don't we just cover it with you, or was it someone else?

    Paragraph styles are the first level of formatting and are applied to all the text in a paragraph. They include fonts specifications. Character styles are in 'special' situations where you need to a single character or a word or group of words, to have a feature that has a different shape, the basic text attributes applied in the paragraph style. Character styles can be as simple as changing type of italics, or by adding a line of underscores, regardless of the police, or can include police information that will always force this particular text to be in a certain face, weight, size and even if you reset the paragraph style of the text that surrounds (you could do this for a brand name of the product).

    You don't want to apply a character style to an entire paragraph.
