Pop - up warning messages

Hi all

Using "xfa.host.messageBox" I could bring up a warning message.  This particular pop up has a red cross on it and I was wondering if anyone knows how to show a message box that displays the chart of yellow triangle with the '!'?

Also, is there a way to make pop-up warnings also fruitful in Acrobat version 6 and higher.  I wrote a script that detects the version number and if his prior to version 9, it displays a message to the user.  However, this seems to only work for versions 7 and 8, not 6.  I don't have any other older versions, so I'm not able to check on the version 5 and this.

  • How to display a warning message when someone tries to stop .vi?

I have an instrument that generates at the rate of several per second .dat files.  The device stores the files on a PC.  The PC has a LabVIEW .vi which checks the new .dat files.  If a file is found, the .vi reads data, calculates a value, then deletes the file.  If the LV application is stopped by a person until the unit is off, the hard drive fills up within hours.

The .vi is configured to run at the opening, but I need a pop up warning message in case someone tries to stop the vi.

    Any suggestions?

    Hi epster,

No, the button abandon won't get caught by it. But you must hide the toolbar in any case when the vi is running...

  • Start the system warning message: "one of the files containing the system's registry data had to be recovered after the installation of Trend Micro 2011 anti-virus software.

    Original title: registry warning message.

This continues a question Nov 16 initially answered by SureshI and then merged by SyedV on November 26. I followed the steps all the recommended and the problem persists. Reminder, the warning does not appear in safe mode, but it does after the running File Checker, and it does after a clean boot. I don't know what you think it should tell me.

In the event viewer I determined that 2 system errors are occurring at the time of the application in pop - up (i.e. the warning), one of them exactly at the same time. They had to do with services that have not started. I disabled these services, no effect on the appearance of the warning. Background on the application in pop information - up suggests that it may have to with a driver that is not available. I did a driver scan and see nothing that would cause the message.

I noticed that two application errors also occur at startup, but these come about five minutes after the application pop up, so I guess they aren't relevant.

    Anything else I can do?

Problem is now solved. The point of the error of HP Cue device detection was the key. The deactivation of the service did not help, but uninstall ALL HP software that I could find (and HP's pushy!) and then reinstalling the popup eliminated printing software.

  • Display warning message first time app is launched

I'm about to publish my first app in the App World. I'm wanting to add a warning message the first time the application is launched. If the user accepts the warning I want the application to continue and to never show the warning again. If the user declines the warning, I want to close the application.

What is the best way to do it? I think a pop-up screen would be the best. But I don't have the slightest idea how code and have the warning message invalid once it is accepted. If you could help me with this, I would be very happy. Thank you.

You probably already have a PersistentStore object where you store the application settings.  Add "Boolean firstrun" to this, initialized to true when the parameters object is created.  Then in your application initialization, if it's the first inning, pop up the PopupScreen instead of proceeding from the regular application.

In the PopupScreen, if the user accepts, the firstrun flag false and save the settings, and then send the app an event to close the screen and proceed with its regular service.  If the user refuses, close the display and put an end to the application, and the next time they do it, that's still quite once - only if they refused.  If they accept, it will in the future start due process.

That's what I did to the EULA, which is probably what you're up to also.

  • Installed Adobe Flash Player update and now get the security warning message

On each page on that I click I get the warning following pop box IE. A website wants to open web content outside of protected mode. This program will open outside of protected mode". The Web site, whether is Adobe Flash Player.  I can't get rid of the pop up if I click on allow.  I can click on don't allow not, but for every thing I'm in, I get this pop up warning window.  I do not think that I have to click on "don't show me this message again" that I should?

I asked this question on the Adobe forum, and while a lot of people have looked at my question, I did not get all the answers.  I also went to support at Microsoft and found this problem.  The only difference is that the problem is for Vista and I have Windows 7.  Otherwise, it's exactly the same thing.  He said to check for a fix.  I clicked the button to fix, but then he said that it was not available.  I don't understand.  First he said it was, but when I clicked it, it said that it was not.  Is it because I have Windows 7 and not Vista?

As you can probably, I'm not the sharptest knife in the drawer when it comes to computer problems so I could sure use some help.  I also installed all updates latest IE.  That did not help.  I would like just to uninstall Adobe Flash Player but don't have many programs need?  I you could use some help here.  Thank you.

I tried to follow your steps as carefully as I could.  I'm sorry to report that it did not work.  What I finally had to do was to make a back up and restore.  I backed up before 3 days, which was a bunch of Windows updates.  I probably lost all updates but guess what - the warning box has disappeared.

Thank you very much for taking the time & than give me such clear instructions, step by step.  The fact that you tried is appreciated by me.

New version of firefox, constantly keeps popping up a message asking me to "Bring your bookmarks and passwords with you." I am currently working. It shows me once then stop. OFF to Chrome I guess

Sorry, this is a message from the heart function. She undergoes a bug right now. Better to turn it off if you can get immediate relief.

To turn off the heart rate:
Talk openly about: config config in a tab, then search for browser.selfsupport.url and double click on it and set it to an empty value.

You may need to restart Firefox for the changes to take effect.

  • Warning message that we had been hacked.

We have 10.7.5 we received a message that the system had been hacked and we should call it an 877 number to talk to the Apple support.  I turned the computer off for the night. Today, when restarting the message was gone.  I was able to run Sophos Anti-virus that does no threats.  Does this sound familiar to others?  Is it a scam?  What should I do when I get a warning message?

It is a SCAM, never all pay attention to these messages. In addition, uninstall Sophos following the instructions of developers. OS X has no need of the AV, cleaning or ANY, repeat ANY utility of third maintenance party. OS X is extremely secure and performs better if left totally alone. Sophos at best worthless and at worst will cause problems with your system.

  • Now that the status bar is gone, how can I turn back on the "pop-up blocked" message once I have it disabled? (Firefox 21,0)

I activated the function 'block pop-up windows' in the menu Options/content of Firefox 21.0. When a message appeared telling me that the pop-up window a site had been blocked, I have chosen to "do not display this message" again.

Now, I want to turn on the "pop-up blocked" message. I don't know its place in the menu of Options or elsewhere to do. In previous versions of Firefox, there was once an icon in the status bar where I could re-enable the message of 'pop' - up blocked. Now that the status bar is gone, where I'm going to to reactivate?

  • How can I change the settings on Firefox 5 Warning Messages?

I wonder why the options to turn these warning messages whenever you enter or leave an encrypted page, etc., are more included in this version. Is it still possible to rework her these settings with Firefox 5?

The settings for warning messages have been removed from the UI (Bug 513166).

You must change preferences related security.warn_* directly on the topic: config page.

    Filter: security.warn

To open the topic: config page, type Subject: config in the address bar (address) and press the 'Enter' key, as you type the url of a Web site to open a Web site.

If you see a warning then you can confirm that you want to access this page.

    • Use the filter at the top bar of the on: page config to more easily spot a preference.
    • Preferences that have changed see the bold (user set).
    • Preferences you can restore the default value or change via the context menu.

You can alternate Boolean prefs with a double click.

  • How can I activate the pop-up blocked message?

How can I activate the pop-up blocked message? When the message came I clicked on do not show this message again. I want this message to show when Firefox blocks a menu embedded, so I can allow the pop up if I want to.

You can see a pop-up block icon in the right corner of the status bar if you have chosen to hide the information bar at the top.

You can click on this icon of pop - up block on the status bar and remove the check mark [] «do not show an information message when pop-ups are blocked»
