  • Will there be a second drive bay in HP Pavilion 17-f072no?

I bought a HP Pavilion 17-f072no and I was going to add an SSD in it like and add to the HARD drive, but I found it has a solid base, while my previous pavilions and Envys have trapdoors separated for drive bays.

Before removing the base plate, I would check this model has a second HARD drive Bay?

  • Any laptop computer, with more than one drive Bay?

Latitude D400 a friend needs more storage, the thing in there is a {cough} 40 concert and she really needs more.

I thought I read earlier that Latitudes had place for a 2nd disk, either stacked on each other or a 2nd Bay or something. I see that in the documentation anywhere, so I guess it was simple elucubration on my part.

To preserve its OS etc then, I suppose that there is no way around using some utilities like ghost to save far picture of current player and then restoring it in a new HD?

  • Satellite A200 - 1 M 8 and the second HDD bay

Hallo, I want to install a second internal HDD to hdd2 Bay, but when I opened the Bay I noticed that it is not all connectors installed.
So, what's the point of a second drive Bay hard if there are no connectors inside?

    Hello
The point of this Bay is, IF you buy a model with a second equipped HARD drive then there will be a connector, but if bought a model with a SINGLE disc fitted then you just need a drive since the connector to the second HDD was not soldered on the motherboard of your model.

Easy and simple. If you want to have a second drive, then you must either:

-solder a connector for the motherboard which causes your warranty and does not mean that you can use a second drive since you will need the appropriate BIOS Rom
-buy a USB - HDD and accept your situation :/

    That's all.

  • DV9000 freezes - not to recognize the new second Drive

The laptop in question is a HP Pavilion DV9225us (DV9000) running Windows Vista Ultimate 64 bit (SP 2) with 2 GB of RAM and a chip from AMD Turion 64 x 2 TL-60 2.00 GHz.

I took the Samsung existing 120 GB drive in the second and replaced drive bay by a WD3200BEKT Scorpio 320 GB drive. After I put the new Scorpio drive with the correct HP caddy, the system would not start (for example, Windows Vista began to start, but hung on the screen empty which poster right before that with the Windows progress bar downstairs). I removed the Scorpio, and put it back in the original Samsung drive. Needed to run "Startup Repair" Windows several times during the sequence before priming it could start normally. (I guess he was trying to cancel the "fetid" caused by the player of Scorpion and trying to back up my original Samsung drive.) He finally managed (thank God).

I upgraded my BIOS on the DV9000, but that did not work. I tried also to access the disk in the BIOS during the boot. The BIOS as a secondary drive was there, but when I tried to do a BIOS diagnostic on it, he is hooked. In fact, he hung even when I tried to make a diagnosis of BIOS on the main drive as well.

After having contacted WD support, they suggested putting a jumper between pins 1 and 2 on the Scorpion to allow a PCN (reduced power setting) in the hope that it would recognize the HP. That no longer works.

I just have another HP Pavilion DV9620us (DV9500) laptop running Windows Vista Home Premium 32-bit (SP 2) with 2 GB of RAM and an AMD Turion 64 x 2 chip TL-58 1.90 GHz. It has also two drive bays. As an experiment, I installed the Scorpio 320 GB drive in

the second drive bay in this laptop. This laptop IS able to recognize (for example, mount) the reader, so for the heck of it, I formatted the disc while he was there. Then I took the drive formatted and installed on the second drive bay in my first laptop (DV9000). However, this did not help, because again once the system wouldn't start.

What is going on? Why my DV9500 laptop would be able to recognize and use the drive, but won't my DV9000? They do not use the same motherboard and BIOS?

I know that the Samsung 120 GB drive uses a connection SATA 1 (1.5 GB / s) and the Scorpio 320 GB SATA 3 (3 GB / s). The DV9000 does not support a SATA 3 drive? It's crazy to me, sounds, but I am so frustrated now, I think that anything...

indicate it is officially supported: 200, 160, 120, 100 - or hard disks of 80 GB.

Other size may work, but not in the official list of supported.

  • WE made the Notebook G71-340 have TWO hard drive bays

My mother has the laptop mentioned in this topic. She had all kinds of issues with her past. Runs slowly. Crashes. Stop randomly. I ran all virus scan and malware known to man and it found nothing. It's either something that is on the hard drive is not detected and the only solution is to reformat the hard drive and reinstall everything from scratch or it's a hardware problem. I think to install an SSD as drive for improved speed and reformatting of the original disc that is out there at the moment and which install as a secondary drive, * IF * this laptop has the capacity to hold 2 hard drives. Anyone know the answer to this question of 2nd hard drive Bay on the top of their head for this laptop specific? Thanks in advance.

Unfortunately this is not one of the models with the extra hard drive Bay. So the answer is no. Think hard external usb disc or a NAS.

Install an SSD as a replacement for the original hard drive is the way to go. Use the largest you can afford and run an image recovery plant from the set of recovery disks.

  • Support of Pocket media drive Bay

I have a Presario SR5262NX with an empty optical drive Bay, and a floppy drive Bay empty.  I also have a media player Pocket 160MO I use for backups.  I would get a Pocket Media support/adapter for the bay floppy drive so that I can put my Pocket Media drive in it and leave, rather than have it cluttering up my desk.  But I wasn't able to locate such a thing in the HP store or anywhere online.  I think that HP could sell such a thing, but maybe not.  I'm looking for something that does not exist, or just look in the wrong places?

I had installed Windows 8.1 with bootcamp, that there was a c drive, then I tried to do the second drive with disk management d when I shrink the c drive and format the partition which was made by the management of the disks to d ' training, it destroyed my mac osx.

This partitioning is not supported. Please download GPT Fdisk from http://sourceforge.net/projects/gptfdisk/ and install it on the Windows side. Once it is installed, thanks for posting the output as indicated in the CMD window.

  • image of the disk system reconfigured to the second drive, active C with the same license

Can I make an image of my C drive system and then recreate the image on a second drive, activate using the same license as the first so that I can hot swap the second disc for Windows problems?

That's what I did, but I wonder if I'll run into trouble of having both drives enabled with the same license.

I think Windows will see the second disk as a clone of the first drive and they should not be a problem. I've heard of cloning of their C drive in case something goes wrong so they can instantly Exchange readers on people.

No, because the partition scheme is not the same thing and also, you won't be able to activate it. You can't have multiple installations of the same license.

  • HP Envy TouchSmart, m7 j-000dx: adding a second drive

I want to add a second drive of my laptop HP Envy TouchSmart (17.3 ") since I was a lot of data on my current SSD.

My question is that the computer will support the SSD and SSHD readers?

Are there restrictions on the size of the disk (to 1, 2-4).

I had my HP Envy since 7/2013 and am currently using Windows 10 (64-bit).   I've updated RAM 16 MB (max for this phone).  The material is otherwise original.

It has been frustrating to look for information, if I can do it at all and, if so, what can I use for this second disc.  Thank you.

    Here is the Service Manual:

    Manual

The laptop is essentially identical to the series of 17 t-j000xx want so that they share a textbook. I used to own a model 17 t - j029nr that would be about the same as yours. The laptop has 2 size hard disk bays 2.5 inches and there is a slot on the motherboard for a reader to the WSSD mSATA.

This video shows how to add a second hard drive.

    https://www.YouTube.com/watch?v=wx3dMGXrGCc

The company that made the video, www.newmodeus.com also sells hardware, you need to add a second drive.

    http://www.newmodeus.com/shop/index.php?Main_Page=product_info&cPath=2_5&products_id=542

I bought one of these and used to install a second hard drive in mine. It may be a mechanical drive an SSHD or a 2.5 inch SATA SSD. It can be of 7 mm or 9.5 mm thick and is limited in size only by what you can find on the market. I think that 2 TB is still the larger disk of 2.5 inch 9.5 mm there.

The only complication is going to be if you do not have an mSATA 32 gig drive in the computer as it should be removed if you are running an SSD. Looks like you don't have a disc mSATA. Post back with more questions about it he gets the kind of technique and not need to go if this is not a problem for you.

  • I can't put it on the second drive in Satellite A300-1EG

    Hello

The question is whether I can put on the second HARD drive for laptop Toshiba A300-1EG, there is a place for one I found and what HARD drive it's, I mean 2.5 "and etc?

As I read, there may be no connection to HARD drive, depending on model, how can I discovered?

    Thank you.

    Hello

    You can check yourself.
Remove the plastic cover that holds the second HARD drive Bay.
Is there some HARD drive connectors, then you could install a second HDD.
If the connectors are missing, then you will not be able to use the second HARD drive.

I know that it s a little but confusing due to the second HDD bay but the fact is that different models A300 supports different motherboards and not all motherboards are equipped with two HARD disk controllers.

    It will work or not?

    Hello

    > I became happy when I noticed 2 hard drive Bay. But there is no available sata connector!
    It's a bit confusing I'm wrong? ;)

The fact is that not every P200 can be improved with the second HARD disk even if the second HARD drive Bay is available.
The different P200 are equipped with different motherboards and not all mobos support 2 HARD drive controllers

Your laptop seems to be equipped with the motherboard that supports supports only a single disk controller.

  • ThinkPad series Hard Drive Bay adapter III as main hard drive?

    Hi all

my work laptop is a 400 T running on Win XP. I would like to start an installation of Windows 7 on a hard drive physical which is not possible with my employer in the near future.

My idea is now to have a second HD in the Hard Drive Bay adapter III series (let's say that the)

ThinkPad Serial ATA Hard Drive of 320 GB at 7200 RPM) on which I'd install Win 7. I would then configure the adapter Bay to be the first HD to boot from. I would reconfigure the system to use the internal HD every time I need Win XP with the company of my other stuff.

I don't want to install Win 7 in another partition I want to take the risk of what going to the XP machine ;-)

The scenario described above is valid or I have to take account of anything else?

    Thanks in advance!

    Sascha

    saschabeltz, welcome to the forum,

as the States of cassio , you can boot from a hard drive in the Bay adapter. The best way to do it, after you install in the main Bay is to press F12 at startup; This will allow you to choose the device you want to boot from.

  • Pavilion 9408nr: Add a second drive for another main drive for laptops

How can I add a second drive for another main drive of laptop computers. I took the car on the same cell type that crashed by the motherboard. I put it in drive Bay 2. Problems with starting. I sometimes want to boot from disc 2. Is there a MBR somewhere? Are there jumpers to make it slave. Sometimes it will install the software on 2 without any question. Is there a way to make a slave?

Important-copy all data on the second hard drive you want to save on the first hard drive.

MBR of Windows with the hard drive. Use Windows Explorer to locate the second hard drive. Right-click on it and format it.  Once this done, all what one is a storage device and not bootable until the operating system is installed to it.

The BIOS will only see the hard drive as a bootable as it will now be the only drive with a MBR boot sector.

The days of placement of the jumpers to determine master or slave on the disks hard is long gone. SATA drives have no jumpers slave\master like the old school IDE and Eide did.
