Portege M700 - Vista operating system factory reset

Hi guys, I would really appreciate help, please

:)

I have a problem with the reset procedure factory on my Toshiba Portege M700 Vista,.

what I do is the following:

1 turn off the computer by pressing & holding down the power button
2. turn power on by pressing the power button
3. I invite me for the password (BIOS HARD drive), I enter pasword
4. I press F8 and go into the Advanced Boot Options
5. Select repair your computer, press enter
6. I select correct keyboard in pop - up, System Recovery Options after
7. I connect as a user by entering my password
8. I select Windows complete PC Restore

New window appears, saying "Restore your entire computer from a backup" - Windows cannot find a backup on the hard disk or DVD on this computer. The area where I could specify the path to the file is grayed out. It is not that I now have the road, but I guess that there is a hidden with the Vista partition install files that it contains (?)

"" In a small pop-up screen (on the top one), there is a similar message: "no valid backup locations could be found..."

In an ideal world, I would use the backup (plant) from the internal hard drive of origin, rather than purchase and waiting for the preservation factory / restore DVD...

Thank you much in advance!

Hello

The explanation is quite simple. For some reason, your laptop can not find recovery saved on your HARD disk image. I can't say why, but this can happen if the recovery image is deleted, removed to another folder, or in the case of modified HARD drive partitions.

Recovery image is set with the so-called markers and when you start the image recovery Search installation wizard these markers. In the case where the markers are not found, you will get this message on the screen.

So now you have the problem because the mounting will not work. Only option for you now is to install the original recovery image using recovery media, but I'm afraid you did not create one, right m?

You must order the original Toshiba restore disk or you can install the version of the OS using the Microsoft installation disc.

What do you think of all this?

    Hello

I am a new user of M700 and recently installed a clean copy of Vista business on my PC.
I was also able to install all the drivers from the Web from Toshiba site, but since I have not installed all the Toshiba Utilities so all buttons on my laptop do not work as it should.

I see that there are a lot of utilities available and might be useful as well but unfortunately, site Toshiba support Web does not provide all the detailed data that would be particularly useful for the user and it is almost left to the user to make from the name.

I'd really appreciate if anyone can guide me gently on what all of the utilities that I have to install to take advantage of the capacity and features of my machine and at the same time not compromise on performance.

Also, please identify the following utilities do?

    (1) Toshiba tablet PC extension
    (2) value to Toshiba pack
    (3) camera utility (should I have this application in order to use the webcam with Skype?)
    (4) optical drive Auto Lock (and market)

Finally, the touch on my Tablet function does not work and can someone help me please identify if I have this feature or not, as when I try to install the driver from Wacom to Toshiba website, he said that "supported hardware not found".

    Thanks for reading & help!

    Hello

On the European driver Toshiba page, you can find all the necessary drivers for the Vista operating system.
You can also find the full description on simple drivers and utilities that are available on the page.

On the page, you will find a red arrow and more header information.
There you can find the details that make the tool or driver.

So check for yourself if you need more help just after again ;)

  • Re: Can I repair the operating system without resetting the whole HARD drive?

I have a Toshiba Satellite M50, I ran an antivirus in safe mode scan today and must have accidentally deleted a file system because now I can not connect.
The computer will start but when I try to log in it connect, flash back, my office to the floor once and then connect again.
I can repair the operating system without resetting the entire hard drive and lose all my files?

And if not, is there someway to initiate a prompt BACK because I don't that the file is still in the recycling bin, and I might be able to restore it.

    Hello Bambi

Repair option with the recovery DVD (image recovery) is not available. Using recovery DVDs, you can install OS and have once again the factory settings.
As far as I know at the BACK level, you can start using BACK discus. You can create bootable CDs.

You can start your computer in Mode safe?

  • Vista operating system. I get an error report "can't find printable HTML article.

Firefox returns the error report, "Could not find printable html section" when you click on the printer friendly button. The printer friendly option work in Internet Explorer. Vista operating system.

The developer of the page made a typo: the button is pressed by a script that seeks the printable element, but on the page, this item is marked printable - and JavaScript required an exact match.

As a solution, you might set the font using the web console of Firefox. However, it would be wise to complain on the site if they did this on every page.

To open the web console: Ctrl + Shift + k

To correct the fault of typing, type or paste the following text at the side of the > and press ENTER:

  • Re: Serial number down would work with the other Windows Vista operating system

First of all sorry for my English.
    I have one question.

My hard drive is broken with my recovery partition.
If I download windows vista and install the system with my original serial number on the laptop, this will work or should I activate it after installation.

I hope it's the same number that the front is installed on my first installation.

    Hello Marcin

I doubt that the serial number that is placed at the bottom of the device works with another Windows Vista operating system. But it s worth a try
You could test it I heard it's very rare cases it was possible

In any case, if your HARD disk is damaged and it of not possible to create a recovery DVD using recovery software Toshiba disc creator, then you must contact the ASP in your country for assistance.

If the warranty is valid the HARD drive should be replaced just for free. If you need only the recovery DVDs, then you can order it here:

  • Download XP Home on computers than rn on Vista operating systems

I bought a Lap Top that runs on the Vista operating system.  I have my work on a Dell under XP Home machine and want to put the whole package of XP on the Lap Top which has Vista.  I was told that it was impossible, that it can only be charged on a unit of Dell.  I have the XP original software still sealed and never loaded on a computer, so I don't think I would be breaking the laws.  The company I worked for arrangements made with Dell for employees who worked at home to buy hundreds of computers and had them loaded with all the software that they require.  This is the package of XP Home and Dell sent the discs sealed to buyers.  I was one of the buyers and have a new series.  The problem is that it's going to work or Vista shot of it.  I am a novice and you worry mess up Vista and everything I have on the computer.

Someone, please ME SAY it IS OK AND HOW to LOAD it.

Windows, any version, does not come with spreadsheets or excel from MS Office, which contains.
Win is an operating system only, it contains no other software
If you want to MS Office, or any other software, you must purchase it

The recovery disks provided with your PC by PC manufacturer are related to this PC, you can't use them on another PC, no, you can't use your Dell disks on anything other than the Dell pc, they were provided with

The only thing that you can transfer from one PC to another are your data files and all commercial versions of the software that you have purchased

If you buy a PC with MS Office, while the desktop version is also related to this PC, it has been installed previously on and cannot be transferred to another PC.
You cannot transfer commercial versions of the software that you have purchased a new PC

In your case, it would seem that your old Dell PC, available with Windows XP home also had MS Office, none of them can be transferred to a new PC

And no clip has not transferred to winxp home of your Dell to your Compaq, which would have been impossible

Transfer of license with a twist

So I've recently upgraded to a new system... Virtually everything has been replaced - the motherboard, RAM, graphics card, processor... Everything but my HARD drive. I want to continue to use my current Vista operating system, but I forgot to turn it off before changing the parts of my PC. Now, whenever I try to turn it on, it says that the license is already in use.

Is there anyway for me to be able to turn it on for my new rig? Thank you.

If you have a retail copy of Vista, you must activate by phone.  Click Start, type "slui 4" and press ENTER.

    See http://support.microsoft.com/kb/940315

If your copy of Vista is preinstalled on your computer, you can't use it with the new motherboard and you will need to purchase a copy of the license full of Windows.  Most of the editions of Vista out of support in two months so consider Windows 7.

I would like to install Windows XP on my computer and get rid of the Vista operating system.  Can I do this?  I only have 512 MB of Ram and 32-bit processor.

    Hello

There are a few things that you would have to do to install XP instead of Vista:

    1. contact the manufacturer of your computer and see if the XP drivers are available for your computer model to make sure that XP has worked properly in this regard.

    2. If the XP Drivers are available, buy a XP disk operating system / license. Try local computer repair shops because Microsoft sells more than XP and online sale buy you pirated copies can cause. Be very careful.

3 XP runs with 512 MB of RAM, although a little slow by today's standards.

    4. do a clean install of XP. Make sure that all your data is backed up as the hard will be cleaned of everything during the Installation of XP.
