  Hi, my L - 20 Satellite has a memory of 512 mg installed, I buy anti-spam memory ram of 1 GB to increase my memory and put it in the second slot.
  This block of RAM works well because I remove the old block of 512 MB and put it in the biggest and the BIOS recognizes it well.

  Just bought a touchscreen laptop refurbished (15-F023WM) from Walmart for a killer week price last for my sister.  It comes with 4 GB of RAM and declares maximum RAM is 16 GB.  I want to buy more RAM before delivery.  I studied the plug on different sites and there is a conflict of info.  Some say 8 GB max and some say 16 GB max.  Who is this? and, under configuration 1 or 2?

  1 samsung 4 GB @1600 mhz (original stick)

  1kingston 2 GB 1333 MHz

  It works fine except it gets really hot (80 c)

  I tried to remove the slots one by one. but never managed to get into the BIOS once changed.

  also tried to move the joysticks and just 2x2gb, even with just the original it will not get in the bios.

  Sometimes I'm the motherboard beebs and sometimes I just get a black screen.

  but it only starts in the BIOS when I put them back where they were in first place.

  I tried remove the battery of the bios, but who comes also resets the time-, -.

  RESOLVED:

  It was the quick start of windows 8! Somehow it kept me form change the ram!

  I turned it off and was able to change the ram npnp.

  Steps to disable fastboot:

  go to: control Panel\Hardware and Sound\Power Options\System settings > disable the fastboot

  Fastboot is a new feature that speeds up the boot process by creating a file of hibernation which contains the system configuration data is reloaded every time that a PC starts.  In most cases, if Windows 8 detects a change in the configuration of PC, it will ignore the hibernation file and perform a normal boot process which reloads the kernel, services, device drivers, and applications.

  Shutdown of Windows 8 is just a hibernation. In most cases it works when you change the device, but not always. I want more people should know this. It's a really simple solution to a problem I've had trouble with during half a year.

  It's stupid, I couldn't find anything on windows 8 interfering with ram on google. I tried several times even on fastboot interfering with the ram in particular.

  That's why I posted here on the forums of lenovo in the first place, because I thought that if this problem is not associate windows need associated with lenovo.

  There must be more people having this problem!  I spend too much time on this thing.

  Sorry I misread your initial post as 2X8GB not 8x2Go. In this case. 2X16GB is the best option to get to 32 GB.
