  I used FrameMaker structured for years, but now, we are trying to go for creating structured (to facilitate reuse of content). I just went through the tutorial in part 1 of "Developing structured applications with Adobe FrameMaker 9," which indicates how set the formatting in ESD. When you set the formatting in this way, it seems that all the paragraphs in the framework are marked as 'Body' and the formatting is derived from ESD.

  Also, I went through the exercise of mapping the styles of the Frame to the elements in our CSS RoboHelp and publication of a book of frame in HR. My hypothesis is that if I put our definitions of formatting in the EDD, I can't map styles to the CSS of HR. Is this true? If not, what missing am me? Or if yes, can someone tell me how to set tags to paragraph traditional framework for use with ESD?

  Melanie,

  inside all of the text formatting rules, you can simply enter a paragraph format name to use instead of provide the local formatting. It should be obvious looking at the catalogue of the element during the edition of ESD.

  I try to load an XML document using a structured application defined in the default structapps.fm

  My code is shown, extracted from the sample code API FDK.

  Problem, I still got the same message:

  "Cannot find the file named e:\xml\AdobeFrameMaker10\file. Make sure that the file exists. "

  Where "e:\xml\AdobeFrameMaker10\" is my installation directory.

  So I guess that govern trying to find the structapps.fm file but can't find it.

  What else can we?

  Does anyone known how elements achieve this simple task using extendScript?

  According to the "myLastFile" object, the method openDlg may not yet exist (if the myLastFile object is not an object file, for example). And I do not see the myLastFile be necessary anyway, you present a dialog box to select a file to open. I recommend to use the global method of ChooseFile () instead. This will give you a file name as string in the notation of full path, or null if no file has been selected in the dialog box. I'm not sure of what your States of the return value for ChooseFile ExtendScript documentation, but if that differs from what I tell you here, won't the documentation. For example, if you change the first lines of your code by the following it should work:

  While writing this, I see that Russ already gave you the same advice. Use the value of symbolic constant, I stated to use the ChooseFile dialog box to select a single file (it can also be used to select a directory or open a file - but you want control you the logon process). Note that this method allows you to define a directory for the dialog (second parameter). The ESTK autocompletion also gives you a fifth parameter "helplink" who is undocumented and may be ignored.

  Open all files and save them as FM2015 versions first. If you have a book file, open all the files of the components before trying to create a PDF file. [Use the Shift key the shortcut in the file menu for the book to open all the files at once.]

  Strictly speaking, this is not really true. When running, the ResourceManager of IResourceBundles for localization, not deal with XML files or properties files. As long as you implement IResourceBundle, you can back it up with XML, properties, JSON, AMF files - what you want. The problem is that mxmlc will not build modules of resources for you what it is, with the exception of properties files, and cannot compile just resource bundles in a .swf using anything other than properties files. If you build your own interface to spit IResourceBundles, this could work, but it is probably more trouble that it's worth.

  (Assuming that you establish the link in the application) the best solution is to write a script to pre-process the XML in properties files.

  Nope - you need the 32-bit Java to go with the 32-bit Firefox, if you want that Java run
