Poster off-screen at the start of Firefox

Hello. I'm having a problem with Firefox 8. I've updated just now. At first, everything seemed fine, but only today, when I opened Firefox to browse the Internet, never, it seems, although I heard him running. The window itself disappears whenever I tried to access Firefox, despite always on display in the preview window. In addition, whenever I clicked to open firefox, several windows appear to have opened to the start page of Mozilla. Despite this, none of them will appear on the desktop when enlarged. I tried to access Firefox via the Manager tasks, restart my computer several times, had tried to get Firefox in safe mode and even re-installed and uninstalled Firefox itself three separate times. I also tried to use Ctrl-Alt-Delete and Ctrl-Alt-space-M and these corrections that I met to try to resolve this problem, of which none has solved this problem Firefox is the main browser I use. It's frustrating for me that I can't access the browser. It seems to work, else the fact that I can't see what I'm trying to access something other than a miniature preview displayed when I hover over the icon on the desktop. Is anyone else having a similar problem, or is that what I'm doing wrong?

I ran the antivirus scans on my computer, which is only a few months old and this doesn't seem to be a hardware problem. If anyone has any advice, solutions, or just the same problm, entry would be well appreciateed. I'm close to the end of my tether if it continues to be. I thank very you much for any help you may offer. I would be extremely grateful that I can't access my information for troubleshooting this issue due to the above question. I apologize for the inconvenience.

Edit: Starting from 27/11/11, I tried also back to previous versions of this browser to see if that fixed this issue, all to nothing does not. I've uninstalled and reinstalled this browser several times, always with no end to the problem in sight. I decided to leave Firefox uninstalled for now, out of pure frustration with this issue. I really love Firefox, but it is of no use to me if I can't access the content I am trying to see. I hope this problem is solved in the future, because to switch browsers threw me for a bit of a loop. Thanks again for your time and consideration in this matter.

Use Restore or expand in the context menu of the icon in the taskbar to set the focus to the Firefox application if you do not see it.

Open the system menu via Alt + space and see if you can resize the window.
If it works then close Firefox (file > exit/Quit) to save the setting.

It is possible that there is a problem with the sessionstore.js and sessionstore.bak files in the Firefox profile folder.

Delete the sessionstore.js file [2] and files possible sessionstore-# .js [3] with a number and sessionstore.bak in the Firefox profile folder.

Delete sessionstore.js will cause App Tabs and tab groups and opened and closed the tabs (back) to get lost, so you will need to create them again (take note or bookmarks).

I don't need to what are essentially the bars of TWO Windows covering the entire width of the image of my screen! I already have a Windows bar at the bottom of my screen, and if I really wanted to, I could change ITS position towards the top of the screen, so that it would LOOK at the windows of Firefox tabs bar. Here are my reasons why I prefer to use Mozilla's Firefox, Microsoft Internet Explorer or Google Chrome. I love and admire Firefox intended to Mozilla on good security for Personas Firefox Add-on and for free use of Firefox in the Add on Ad-Block, which, as you know, has the merit of separate to reduce the size of the screen - the last is my reason for wanting to get rid of "windows" Firefox SUPERFLUOUS tabs bar. Try Firefox SafeMode to see how it works there.

A way of solving problems, which disables most of the modules.

(If you use it, switch to the default theme).

    • You can open the Firefox 4, 5, 6, 7 SafeMode pressing the SHIFT key when you use the desktop Firefox or shortcut in the start menu.
    • Or use the Help menu option, click restart with the disabled... modules while Firefox is running.

Do not choose anything at the moment, just use 'continue in safe mode.

To exit safe mode of Firefox, simply close Firefox and wait a few seconds before using the shortcut of Firefox (without the Shift key) to open it again.

If it's good in Firefox SafeMode, your problem is probably caused by an extension, and you need to understand that one.

    Hello

    Thanks for the update.

I'm really sorry to say this, but there is no option were you can resize your window (not resizable) at the top of the screen. You can move a resizable window to the right or the left by dragging the window to the left or right of your desktop.

There is another option were you can display multiple windows side by side as requires it.

    • Open all the windows and right click on the taskbar, select the option see the stacked windows or Show Windows side by side

  • Presentation starts 5 "on the left side of the screen and shoot intellegence off-screen to the right.

The top of my screen is normal: starts the toolbar 'File, Edit... '.

The body of the screen during execution of Firefox - and as I type this message - is full of lite. The actual data: starting at the top of this page: "Firefox Help...". Request a new... ' etc. starts 5 1/4 in from the left of the page.

It's as if Firefox had a larger page with the presentation moved to the right. This pushes the last normal, 5 "of the presentation off the screen.

The end of the rite of the bar that starts with: http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/fx/

is out of the page, for the facilities at the end of the rite are lost.

Any presentation, including Amazon.com and Youtube.com are similarly pushed to the side of the rite of the 5 '' screen.

I have no access to the rite more 5 "of any internet presentation.

The sliders that up and down the presentation and the left / rite are off the screen.

I shrunk the screen down so small, I can barely see the numbers: control panel\ display-settings-1920 by 1200. This gives the ILLUSION of the presentation, but still no centering sliders. With this setting, I can see the entire width of the Amazon. YouTube appears centered, with 4 1/4 "on both left and rite, but no edge sliders.

    I dropped the 'setting' of 1440 x 900.

Lost about 3 "on the side of the Amazon rite; barely on the edge of the rite of Youtube.

No local programming has a problem: Excel, photos, videos, Word, even Internet Explorer goes full page and centered.

I uninstalled Firefox and downloaded fresh. He asked me to restart my computer, so I did not.

I can provide photos (screenshots) of this phenomenon on request.

-Open Firefox-> at the Menu help-> select "restart with disabled modules.

Firefox closes, then it will open with Firefox comes from base. You can activate the Add-ons later. Check if its working.

  • When I click on the Firefox Start Page it goes to a full screen with the logo of Firefox... full page... nothing else showing... Help, please.

Something went wrong when I was trying to figure out how to get my regular size rather than the full screen display. Cannot get any tools, options, etc. Only the logo of Firefox with the search bar... That's happened.?

Normally the F11 key will pass you to the normal display mode (or in the display full-screen function of the current screen). Does it work?

Mode full screen, drag your mouse point to the top must cause the toolbar area to slide down. Does it work?

If Firefox is 'stuck' in the view full screen, the file that contains the dimensions of the window may become corrupted. You can rename the file to fix this problem, but it may also affect what bars are displayed (for example, if you are using the classic menu bar, you may need to which restart). Here's how:

Open the settings folder (AKA Firefox profile) current Firefox help

    • button "3-bar" menu > "?" button > troubleshooting information
    • (menu bar) Help > troubleshooting information
    • type or paste everything: in the address bar and press Enter

To open the page without having access to all the foregoing, either:

    • Hold down the ALT key and press H to activate the Help menu, release the ALT key and press T to display the troubleshooting information page
    • type or paste the following text in the search box of the start menu, and press ENTER:
      firefox.exe "about:support"

In the first table of the page, click on the view file"" button. This should launch a new window that lists the various files and folders in Windows Explorer.

Leave this window open, switch back to Firefox and output, either:

    • "3-bar" menu button > button "power".
    • (menu bar) File > Exit

To exit Firefox do not have access to the foregoing:

    • Hold down the ALT key and press F to activate the menu file, release the ALT key and press x to trigger an exit

Pause while Firefox finishing its cleanup, then rename xulstore.json to something like xulstore.old. If you see a file named localstore.rdf, rename this to localstore.old.

Launch Firefox back up again. Windows normally appear again?

It looks like one or more of the boot loader files has been corrupted.

You need access to a PC for this phase of work in order to create the necessary support to fix your PC boot loader.

You will need to create something called a CD-ROM of repair of Win7. This will repair the boot loader files, and if that is the problem, your PC will start OK after that.  Yes, it's for Win7, but Vista uses the same bootstrapper, so you can use Win7 to repair the Vista bootloader files.

The file you need can be obtained (with supplement) from this link: http://neosmart.net/blog/2009/windows-7-system-repair-discs/

When you download this file, it will be an ISO file.

To make a CD bootable it, you will need to download and install ImgBurn: http://www.imgburn.com/

Once you have installed, run, select the option "Save image to disk file" and select the downloaded ISO file and that it points to a blank CD.

To make a USB bootable of it, you will need to download and install RUFUS: https://rufus.akeo.ie/

Once you have that, it is executed in the input of the unit, use the drop down menu to select the USB stick.  Near the bottom right, where is written 'Create a bootdisk to aid', select the ISO file downloaded.
    -------------------------------------

Boot from the media that you have created and follow the instructions in this link: http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/681-startup-repair.html

You will probably need to run Startup Repair three times for him to fix all the boot loader.

Once completed, your PC should start OK.

If it isn't, then some files of the operating system has also been corrupted and the only way to fix it would be to perform a system recovery - which if F11 does not work, but a recovery from the PC to its original using recovery media state.

Problem there is that HP no longer wears a recovery media for the Vista PC, so you should check to see if these sites still have it: http://www.computersurgeons.com/ and http://www.restoredisks.com/

    Good luck

  • Windows 7 changes the resolution of the screen at the start of what I had saved

I recently bought a new monitor, which is a 22 AOC. I installed the drivers so that the computer detects hardware. Then I go to the screen resolution set at 1920 x 1080, that says that Windows is recommended. I then choose to preserve settings, then press OK.

When I then restart the computer, the resolution changes right after the login screen to the old 1 of 1440 x 900 (which is the resolution of the screen of the old monitor).

I tried researching this problem, but nobody seems to have exactly the same problem as me. Help! :)

This problem also occurs when the monitor is turned off and turned back on again (I have my pc set to automatically turn off the monitor after 20 minutes).

I had this problem since upgrading to windows 7 and it is very frustrating when you have to re - align icons and others whenever you turn on the monitor / PC back on.
Fortunately, I found the solution after a few dedicated google searches, but this method requires you to modify your registry so please be very careful.
    Step #1:
Open your Start menu and in the search bar type in regedit and press to enter. UAC will pop up asking if you want to allow this program to make changes to the computer, simply press Yes.
    Step #2:
    In the left pane of regedit , you will see a list of registry keys;
-Click on the small white arrow next to expand this key HKEY_CURRENT_CONFIG .
-Develop System > CurrentControlSet > control > VIDEO

    Step #3:
Now you should see one or more keys with random numbers and letters, for example my video key is {F92BFB9B-59E9-4B65-8AA3-D004C26BA193}.
If you develop these keys, you will see another key in each of these named 0000

Just click on these keys to 0000 to see their values, you are looking for one that has multiple values, for example Attach.RelativeX, Attach.RelativeY, etc.
The appropriate key 0000 should also have a child key (which is the registry of your monitor settings, yay!) and mine is named Mon12345678 but yours may be different.

    Step #4:
Now for the changes of the registry, 0000 and the keys Mon12345678 with the same parameters and values, I changed the two of them are identical. I'm not entirely sure of what a windows 7 uses, but it does not hurt to change both just to be sure.
    In order to change a registry key values;
-Right click on the value name and select Edit...
    - where it says Base of select the decimal option
-Enter the new numeric value, you want to enter in the data value: text field
    The parameters to change are;
    Attach.RelativeX - it's your screen X resolution, mine is set to 1360
Attach.RelativeY - it's your screen resolution is, mine is set to 768
DefaultSettings.XResolution -it's your screen resolution by default of X, mine is set to 1360
DefaultSettings.YResolution -it's your default screen resolution, mine is set to 768
    Step #5:
You're done! Click on file > output and your registry settings will be saved automatically.
    * Restart the system notes * A may be required before these settings take effect.

Hope this helps everyone who has faced this problem!

My; Lenovo A540 remained on during the night and when I went in to wake up today there is just a black screen, no cursor or anything like that. I let it sit for a while to see if anything was just locked up, but he never returned to the top. I finally stop and now I just get the same black screen as I did before. I tried to unplug it from the back of the computer and the wall, and I stopped several times and tried to restart but nothing. I did my due diligence on Google but none of the typical buttons (F2, F8, F11, etc.) anything. I just get the black screen. It is not even giving me the Lenovo logo which appear rotation points. I don't have something new recently installed, or have it improved. I removed all devices and tried rebooting without success. Does anyone have any ideas as to what I can do to get this desktop computer up? I have no CD of restoration, but I don't know that those help even at this stage aynway. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Curiously, I let it sit for a few hours and it works immediately. I had several problems of this kind with the Lenovo 2 I've owned. This is a replacement, because one was doing something similar. It should start to where I got the giant Lenovo on the screen, but the points of rotation would never appear. I'm willing to bet money that my next computer will not be an another Lenovo.
