Power U2414H / Initialize question

Last week, I bought three monitors Dell U2414H.

One of them seems to keep restarting.
NOTE: Only the power connector is connected, so no USB, no HDMI and no DP cable is connected.

When I turn on the screen sometimes some vertical green lines appear in the contrary case the Blackwatch screen or watch a few dark vertical lines.
After a few seconds (random), the monitor turns and turns immediately again.

Sometimes I'll see the backlight just before the monitor goes blank again.

It is not possible to open the OSD menu and it is not even possible to turn off the monitor (without disconnect).

NEW: The problem seems even with only a plugged power cable, so I don't really know what is not a problem of software/driver/GPU. It seems to be a hardware/firmware failure.

When I also connect the USB port, Windows reads the sound "connected equipment" and "disconnected material" and maintains this repetition based on the monitor switch on/off.

Is this a known problem or can it be fixed?

mastermattie,

Not a problem known and not, can not be solved. This monitor should be exchanged. You buy them directly from Dell?

  • Power supply upgrade Question

    Hi all

This isn't a typical question. I read in all directions for an answer with nothing doesn't. I have HP Pavilion A1560n, which comes with a power of 300W. As most of you know, HP uses ATX power supplies and so for me to original power level, I need to know if the upgrade of power must be for the rail voltage 12V or 5V voltage rail. You're probably wondering the reason for the upgrade, and it's because I have a lot more hard and readers of DVD RW that I need to use this system. Think of this system as a station of mini Server (admittedly not the best system for this) If you want.

With hard drives, one might think that the new power supply should have a higher on the 12V rail power. One could argue that the ATX V2.3 is also a good choice here because it has more than one 12V rail and retro-compatible with ATX. However, the fact that 2 different HP technicians mentioned that I need to upgrade is the power rail 5V me puzzled. A third technician just told me I need more power from 12V every power that I have met has more power on the 12V rail, except for the couple who had the same amount of power of 12V as my original power supply and many more the 5V power and the 3.3V rail.

Could you please refer me to any documentation that could enlighten us in what route to go? Should I get an ATX upgrade that would increase the power on the 5V and 3.3V rails or V2.x ATX which will increase the power on the 12V rail.

    Thank you

    Jim

Won't you Dear?  How about $ 45 for a Fortron 600W with 80 + cert?  $ 35 yesterday with a $10 OFF coupon.  This unit is 580W for 12V output rate.  No need to worry about the modern 3.3 and 5V rails with PC since the maximum load will be less than 100W.  This device does not have no problem of transverse load... which means that the system can take as little as a few watts on 3.3 and 5 v rails and still be able to get close to 600 w total power.  You can buy the adapter to convert SATA connector Molex, or vice versa if you have plenty of HARD drive.

This power supply has three independent 12V rails, each rated up to 18A.  Say staying us cautious and rates from the coast to 16A by rail, one call always load to the top of each tubular structure with eight drives.  The processor and the motherboard to sit on the other 12V rail and you can put a high range GPU and a few additional hard disks on the 3rd rail.

The HP tech skill level can vary considerably.  Great people work cheap, so if you want good advice, then you should put these questions to the hardware enthusiast forum.

Let's take a specific example for illustration.  I have a WD 1 TB green drive on my test bench.  The label says A 0.70 @ 5VDC (3.5W) and A 0.55 @ 12VDC (6.6W).  Eight hard drives would put on 28W load on the charge of rail and 5V on the 12V rail 53W.  Double this amount if you want a sturdy margin of safety.

Your PC will probably rely on 180W peak due to the older Intel CPU.  I doubt that you will have no problem to start six drives on the PC with the stock power supply.

  • Power management & random question sleep/put into hibernation

    Hello people!

First of all, I'm an administrator COMPUTER experienced, and I've owned 6 Thinkpads over the years... the machine in question is today a Thinkpad W530 (K1000M, 16 GB RAM, 240 GB SSD Intel, Windows 7 x 64, latest drivers and BIOS).

I had a weird problem where out of no where, and while on battery, the computer will go to the default mode ' uh oh, battery runs out, record everything! Aka, if Hibernate is enabled, the computer will be in hibernation. If I disable Hibernate in Windows, then the computer go to sleep. So the problem is same, and for other symptoms can present as "hibernate without warning" instead of "sleep without warning.

In any case, this occurs sporadically and often at times that bothers. The first few times, I didn't know what has increased, but I looked into it a little further now.

Immediately after this forced sporadic "sleep" / "hibernate" happens, I checked the event log:

    "

    The system to sleep.

    Reason to sleep: battery

    "

Now, obviously, this is no good. I was a little confused the first time I saw that as the power manager, or the built-in Windows gauge showed low battery. And after that I take for sleep/hibernate mode, the battery is still fine.

Today, however, I only found a major clue. This time, instead of simply jumping to a sleep/hibernate event, I got a low battery critical Windows popup warning first, and looking at the Windows battery meter was shown left 7%, even if Lenovo Power Manager gauge showed a little more than 50% left. Almost immediately after, he does it is sleep and I wake him up once again, and of course, as always, the battery level returns to normal.

If long story short, it's a pretty serious battery level report bug somewhere in the drivers of power? Or is it a bad battery? (And if that were the case, why only Windows reports the State of the intermittent dangerously low battery, Lenovo Power Manager no?)

Just curious for some feedback, otherwise, I'll have to start RMAing parts, or even the entire machine. Of course, having Windows sometimes think that the battery is not about to die is not acceptable. Imagine if I was doing something critical and decides the computer "uh oh, battery low time.» close it as soon as possible! ».

Yes. Define your event of critical battery doing nothing. It is a workaround, but it is not too bad workaround.

  • Cord power 6700 Officejet question

Is it possible to connect my all-in-one printer fax scanner to my surge protector CyperPower?

    Hi @LoriOKC,

    Welcome to the HP Forums!

I understand you're wondering if you can plug in your all-in-one printer fax scanner to my surge protector CyperPower. I'm happy to help you!

It is recommended to connect the power cable directly into the wall outlet, not a surge protector. Please see this guide questions when it is connected to an uninterruptible power supply/Strip/surge protector power. This is true for printers and ink jet.

Hope that answers your question and have a nice day!

  • Power Supply compatibility question

    Hello!

Tomorrow, my new Dell XPS 8700 arrived. I opted for the internal model with 8 GB of RAM and 1 TB HD, Intel i7 4790.

In the meantime, I ordered a few updates - specifically a 128 GB mSATA drive, an extra 1 TB internal HD and a Gigabyte GTX 960 overclockee edition.

Currently, I have concerns that the stock power supply may not be up to the task - and am shopping around just in case. I met one at an incredible price, and have two questions for anyone here with experience in this field:

    (1) Will Dell installed standard power supply handle additions above?

    (2) if not, is compatible with the machine down and architecture Haswell?

    www.TigerDirect.com/.../Item-details.asp

Thanks a lot in advance for any help!

Welcome to the club of 8700 XPS!

XPS 8700 OEM power will be well with a GTX 960.  No reason to spend, even if you add the mSATA and an additional HARD drive or two.

The mSATA reader will probably less than 5 extra watts, and the HDD is maybe 10 watts max.

And, insofar as this power supply, it seems that it is done by abderrazak, and is not a manufacturer that I heard a lot about.

I stick to Seasonic, some of the highest in Corsair or Silverstone, and their research before investing.

  • TOSHIBA Power Saver - SP6000 question

    Hello

I recently had to reinstall the Toshiba Power Saver on my SP6000 utility. Since then, I can't find any possibility to change the method of 'cooling' ('optimized battery', 'performance' etc.).

Can I have EVER had, so I could be talking nonsense here :-) It's just that I seem to remember having this option before. I'm trying to force my laptop shorten the CPU rather than keeping the cooling fan marketing every few minutes, and I thought that was possible using the method of "cooling".

    Any help would be appreciated.

    See you soon!

    Hi, Jerry

First of all, I hope that you have installed the appropriate for your model energy saver. ;)

Launch the energy saver and Power Save Modes tab there is an option called FULL POWER subsector first. It must be marked, and then click details. At full power, properties select tab power saving Mode and there is option method of cooling. On this site, you can choose between three options:

    -Maximum performance
    -Performance and
    -Battery optimized

I hope this little description to help you.

    Good bye

  • Satellite C870 - 11G - AC power adapter compatibility question

    I have a C870 - 11G.

It uses power adapter part no PA3917U-1ACA, who recently became damaged when someone tripping over the cable and it bends the end that connects to the laptop.

I used to have a Toshiba C660D-10W a few years ago and the power for this laptop adapter you still, even part no PA3714E-1AC3,.

Does anyone know if this is compatible with my C870?
It seems to fit but I wanted to try it incase it damage the battery or something.

Any advice will be greatly appreciated.

On the first picture you can see the values:
    * 19V * (v) * 3.42A* (Ampere)
On the second picture, you can find the same values.

If two adapters providing the same volt Ampere and should be compatible.

  • HP ENVY Phoenix 850-065se: HP ENVY Phoenix 850-065se Power Supply replacement Question

On point to start using my new 850se and, like others, have long-term supply concerns with the unit from 500W to come with this model. Finally the PSU will have to be dealt with during the upgrade or this power will die quickly.  I thought I could just install a Modular 750W Cool Master PSU I have to just to fix the problem from the outset for the life of the platform. I jumped open the case and power supply cables was moving to look at and check the PSU is actually 500W (it is).

At first glance, everything in the 850se looks compact and compatible with a new PSU standard - then something cought my eye. Someone else saw the connector connecting the power supply that connects in the CD player? I'm not some tech pro by any means, but I'm not completely new at this stuff, and for the life of me I can't understand what is the connector. I am confused where I am fearful that it's some exclusive HP nonsense. I have never seen him and can not find maps while rummaging around looking. My only thought was there must be an adapter for the FDD or the 4 pin connector. I hope it is something simple that, for some reason, I just never saw.

If it's something completely owner, then I guess I can go along without the cd player. It's not like I need for what these days - but would of course I would powered it so it is an option.

Help at all or guidance would be greatly appreciated. Specs below:

    Kupchr36, welcome to the forum.

The PSU is ATX standard.  You should be able to update without any problem.  However, until you decide to upgrade the video card, it should work fine.  There is a lot of power for OEM components.  Personally, I love the Corsair products.  They are lovers of quality at a reasonable price.

Please click on the Thumbs up button '+' if I helped you and click on "Accept as Solution" If your problem is resolved.

  • Equium A60 power supply insulation question

My laptop recently failed a PAT to trial because of the continuity of the Earth. For background, it's a laptop bought UK but I am running an advance Australian 3-pin into the power adapter as I am in Australia.

I saw somewhere on here that standard satellite UK does not connect through the Earth and I wonder if someone can confirm the preference for an official title, because I believe that this is the cause of the problem, but it doesn't seem to be, for example, a symbol 'double insulation' on diet, nor the manual referred to - the laptop works very well and I have no reason to suspect the power supply are faulty.

So wonder if it actually has a pin plug 2 (UK power points need the same if taken earth it is not connected, Australian points are not).
I really need to resolve this issue I need to use my laptop on the site, but can't until he gets that agreement and I do not want to get a new (OEM) power when I do not think the existing one is broken, so I need something to test guys and show them that it is a normal behavior...

Of course, if this isn't normal behavior, I would be better to know now!

    Thank you

I Don t think that the power supply is broken, and it doesn't really matter what the wall of the AC cable is connected from the regulated AC adapter voltage by itself and has it s own ground.

Maybe the PAT test fails, but food is not broken.

    Welcome them

  • Initialize questions on my satellite phone

If I use PC every day for my part I'm not also read and write or capable as people think I am. I have a Toshiba Equium giving this message to initialize to top:

    Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library
This application has requested the execution to terminate in an unusual way.

This happens repeatedly (you need to click on the OK button) until finally I get to the login screen.

Can anyone tell how to fix this please?

    Thank you

This could be due to many things. Sometimes it can be caused by the disabled Services or corrupted system files.

Your best bet would be to google search for the exact error message a solution. Its more of a Microsoft problem rather than a problem of Toshiba.

  • Reference Dell place 7 Tablet initialize questions

Saturday, I turned off my Tablet and let it charge all night while I was sleeping. Sunday, when I turned on and tried to play Candy Crush Soda, a pop up instantly is came in saying that the application has stopped working. I continued to try to get but the coming notification. I gave up and tried the other Candy Crush. She appeared too "stopped working". I thought that I just left the internet signal before it finished updating the apps and everything would be fine, once I was connected again. Especially, since my word search app worked perfectly.

Later that day, I came into the range of connection and updated applications and I was able to use other applications, but eventually app after app begins to burst "stopped working" (including keyboard), which really struck me as odd since I was on any of the failing applications. I tried to see if there are updates or be it in GooglePlay, but then it stopped working. Thinking nothing of it, I simply turned off, waited and then turned back on it. She appeared to top the Dell logo, but before the colors came he flashed and the Dell logo then comes on again, the colors flashed, then he started again. He never gave me the start screen. Market the night I tried to see if it would behave finally. He did it when I connected it to my computer, but the pitcher was not. I took the opportunity to record stuff from the tablet to my computer. And like a fool, I turn it off to get pitcher, maybe works, but it started to do it again. I left it on to see what he would do. It would be flash Dell permanently, with or without color, logo, then finally there just black screen. I could say it's still on but nothing on the screen and even in this case it would be flash. I left on during some time before eventually turning it off, pull out the SD card and then go to bed.

The next day, he started very well. And seemed ok until I put the SD card, so I could listen to music while playing Candy Crush Soda. Suddenly, calendar has stopped working and it took a few tries to get my music player to work. CCSoda worked but then Candy Crush from the pop up * again. As soon as I was connected to internet, application after application has failed. Again, I turn it off and the drama of constant reboot again. In the meantime, I've scanned / repair SD card and wanted to know if the internet had any advice. I tried the "Power/Volume down" and "Power/Volume up" advice, but none worked. Just start the cycle again.

Yesterday, he got finally passed starting (yet), but it appeared a message 'com.android.phone has no' (or stopped working) among the other error messages. After several rounds of restart, it took me to the splash screen but all attempts to unlock marked "launcher has stopped working" among other failing applications. I discover I could pull down the menu at the top right and I could get in the settings. My Dell section is not too useful, but at least I could go to the option "save and recover."

Desperate, I tried the 'backup/recovery"(after the Tablet charged all night to do it). He grew the small Android while saying the deletion and then he tried to start as it's supposed to, but the purgatory restart again. Sometimes it flashes only the logo, sometimes it gets to the colors but then restarts again, sometimes it's flashing colors, but everything finally to flashing black screen.

I have no idea what's happened, what to do and no advice on the internet has been useful. I also fear that all the restart / constant on and outside it has damaged somehow. I chose Dell because of the excellent customer service with my laptop and I could really use again for my Tablet

After more time sitting, with the occasional attempt, it's now me arrived at the thing 'create the Tablet' that comes after the opition "backup and restore". But it appears:

and "system UI" and "chrome" have stopped working (they are under this pop up, if I hit ok one amount several times). One of the moments where she has restarted before she was able to get this far, he locked on the flashing colors; It wouldn't move at all. The power + low thing restore still does not work.

Since then, there is no answer other than me on this, I tried to send a tech. I put in my service tag, but he said he could not find anything. I've had this thing for March

  • Power / Start Up question - q9h

in the last days, the q9h phone started rebooting randomly.  yesterday, the phone wouldn't start at all without the help of the charger.  When it is plugged into the wall charger, it starts, but he never finds a signal, the circle with a line through it appears.  After the activation of start with the capabilities of the phone, the phone turns off automatically after 30 to 60 seconds.  However, if I put it in airplane mode, the phone not turn off automatically.  When it is plugged into the usb port, it shines only blue, no power, no State of charge indicator.

When it is plugged into the wall, and before I turn it on, a red x appears, followed by the full charge status indicator.

I tried the SIM in another phone, it works.  I have two batteries, two bt60 and have tried both, still no fix.

Yet once, it does nothing if it is not plugged into the wall.    He did try and charge the battery... starts with a red x, and then immediately give the indicator for a charge complete.  I've looked through some messages, but have not seen a similar situation, any help would be greatly appreciated.

Even if you said it worked on other phones, I think you may have a bad SIM card. Looks like the phone crashes when the SIM card is inserted. Try to pick up a new with an ATT store.

  • Re: Satellite Pro 6000 initialize question

I have an old SP6000 which, for technical reasons, I had to format the hard drive.
Since in so doing, the PC does not start upward, CD or diskettes.

The message I get is - + "PXE - E61 Media test check failure cable, PXE - M0F: exit Intel. +

I accesed F12 and tried to change the boot option but get the above message. I also put under tension while maintaining the Esc key and you press F1 after the message 'check' and tried different for the boot routine.

None of the working parameters and I continually get the PXE message above.

Can someone give me an idea of what to try?

    Hello

The message appears because the laptop cannot find the boot except the LAN device. In this case the laptop attempts to boot from LAN, but it is also not possible.

If you can't boot from CD/DVD drive, then one of the reasons could be WEIRD malfunction. Maybe the drive laser lens is dirty and cannot read the inserted bootable disks
Usually you should be able to start C CD/DVD drive laptop start button upward.
Of course F12 should work too

In addition, you should check the HARD disk if it s not defective
