  I was hoping to get some advice on how I could search for the following string and convert it to a real number or an integer.  The following data is output as a device ascii characters and I would look for both in each line (starting with 7699,72 seconds in this case) and convert each one to a real number.  Furthermore, I would like to get the integer values in each row (0, but could be 1,2,10,12, etc.) and convert them to an 8-bit integer.  I think that using the template Match followed by analysis of chain would screw that I need, but am not sure how to match in each case.   Scan chain can probably not what you want.  Note that in the image space characters include spaces, return carriage, line breaks and tabs.

  I recently accidentally typed a powershell "get-vmswitch" command in my window PowerCLI.  Each Get-* I typed after that comes the Hyper-V installed locally instead of the vCenter server, I had been connected to the order information.

  I can repeat the behavior every time.

  PowerCLI opened on my laptop 2012 R2

  to connect-VIServer 192.168.0.16

  Get - VM displays the virtual machines managed by my vCenter Server

  Get-VM-Server 192.168.0.16 #also works

  Get-vmswitch #displays the network cards on my laptop 2012R2

  Get - vm #displays Hyper-V virtual machines on my laptop

  Get-vm-Server 192.168.0.16 # an error no parameter matches Server

  $displayviserver #displays IP address of vCenter expected

  to connect-viserver #appears to work, but all orders always work against the local machine

  My lab is a collection of portable computers running Hyper-V and ESXi.

  Hello.  I found the file for a virtual machine on one of our data warehouses.  I don't see the virtual machine in Virtual Center.  When I try to add to the inventory, I get the following error:

  "A virtual machine or a model having the samename is already registered.  Server error: the specified key, nam or ID already exists. »

  The vmware.log file has these entries

  07:53:06.529 May 21: vmx | vmdbPipe_Streams: cannot read

  Is there something that I am missing?  Is it possible to add the virtual machine to my inventory?  Thank you in advance for the advice and help!

  It is the very generic error message. If you look in the server.log - vco server log file you will find more specific error information. If it is not confidential you can contact here I can take a look.

• Can I convert my physics VCENTER server to virtual?  (P2V my vCenter Server)?

  I have my vCenter Server on an x 86 Sun Blade Server.  The chassis is end of life, and I want to spend my vCenter in its virtual environment.  I suppose it could work like any P2V, but are there any other measures special to do or be aware of?   I don't want to corrupt my environment.

  The short answer is no... It is not an alarm, and the problem is by design and is not a "bug" as such...

  But your problem highlights a problem with some VMW products in addition to vCenter...

  A similar situation can break VMware View - then create a pool of offices (the left), but then someone or you move Virtual workstations to file another resource pools (the right hand), then everything is broken, as with SRM, there is no warning or alarm to tell you what happened...

  In the VMware view sometimes '' protect '' certain objects - such as the ParentVM in the clone linked - to stop an admin "thugs" to delete the parent and this making the children not valid. On this protection system - the trouble is if something is wrong in the deletion of a pool - and a replica of linked clone ophaned is left out - even if you logged on as administrator with full rights vCenter - you cannot delete them. Instead, you pay for a CLI tool to purge the ophaned object.

  I know this isn't a forum of the reviews, but I see similarities between the view/SRM... and if you want to get hairy, you could add vCloud Director for that now. As it created folders and discussions around the joint...

  He reason you do not get an alert or alarm - is that the inventory maps may contain objects that you want not mapped at all - as a list of folder/test/development of the protected site machines resources. It's as if the API is not sophisticated enough (yet) to deal with all the possibilities. Perhaps a solution for this would be an alert to sort who had the logic - if something was FORMERLY included in the mapping of the inventory and is then removed - then sends an administrator an alert. It would not get a box full of false postitives about stuff that has never protected...

  I did experiments as yours--such as move and rename folders - SRM seems happy with that - but I did not try deleting stuff in or out ALL the VM one folder to another. So maybe what we need is the API to say - if the object is covered by the inventory mapping, then disable the Remove feature. A lot of work of EMC products like this - like Navisphere.

  If done to rip out and replace the process more difficult - because for every action you do an upside - otherwise as with view you could be left with ophaned objects. In addition, it sometimes feels like your being wrapped in cotton and protected by the seller of your own stupidity. Then maybe a new 'are you REALLY sure you want to do this - this object's reference by MRS... "would be a happy compromise.

• The dynamic Types and Inventory Item Grouping

  I'm provisioning different types of objects using dynamic Types and vCAC 6.1. In the tab "Items" vCAC, all objects of type dynamic are grouped under a kind of left, "Dynamic Types".

  For an example, I'm provisioning two dynamic types:

  -Volumes of block Vipr

  -View horizon 6 workstations

  If I set one of each of these types, they are both grouped under "Dynamic Types" in the agenda of the inventory tab. Is it possible to have all of these types under different groups? So, the volumes of vipr go "block Volumes; and work stations go under 'VDI Desktops'?

  I have attached a screenshot, and you can see that the volume 'Test vCO DT' block and the Office of vdi "Win7vCAC-v012" are both under the group "Dynamic Types" on the left. I want to separate these is easier for a user to view their items commissioned by type.

  I have custom resources defined for each of these dynamic types, but it still doesn't seem properly the group.

  Well, for someone who wants to know... you can do this via the DB unit.

  You need to add a new type of parent to the cat_resourcetype table, and then associate your custom and dynamic type in this same table with the parent in the parent_id field.

  Use the images as a logo is against the license agreement. You cannot save a stock image such as a logo, they are publicly available.
