PowerShell commands for orders esxcfg on esx

I am running some esxcfg commands on my servers ESX 4 to create a vswitch and vmkernel ports with a mtu of 9000 (frames) value, but I would run rather these commands in powershell equivalent.  Esxcfg commands are:

create a new vswitch called vswitchA:

esxcfg-vswitch - a vSwitchA

Then, set the MTU of the vSwitch.

m - 9000 vSwitchA esxcfg-vswitch

the list of all vSwitches so you can confirm your changes and settings

esxcfg-vswitch - l

create the portgroup port1

esxcfg-vswitch - a vSwitch9 port1

Then create the VMkernel interface with the value of the intellectual property and mtu.

esxcfg-vmknic - a-i 172.16.0.1 - n 255.255.255.0 m 9000 iSCSI

confirm your settings.

esxcfg-vmknic - l

Can someone tell to get orders for orders above esxcfg powershell

Only the portgroup, but you can use the cmdlet Set-VirtualSwitch which also has an MTU setting.

  • [Issue] Is it possible to change the order of connection of the network through the powershell command or back?

    Hello my dear

    I would like to ask how to change the binding of the network through the powershell command or back order.

    I know it could be changed as below.

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-GB/Windows/change-network-protocol-bindings-order#1TC=Windows-7

    but I want to change it via text command. Because sometimes, I change it many servers via GUI and then happened a long time depending on the amount of servers.

    If it can be modified it using the command text, or registry, it will be useful for me.

    Thank you.

  • problem of Plugin vCO-Powershell by running a command (for members of a local administrator on a server group)

    Hello

    Tearing my hair out and looking for a little help :-)

    I have a powershell script for the verification of the members of the Local administrators on a server, and it works very well in a powershell window. (running on the server that hosts my VCO in powershell and under the registered with vCO user/account name...)  However, when I call it from a workflow of vCO it fails.

    Track down, I've isolated the code criminalized in this section:

    I provide $servername as the server to run the script against.

    $group = [ADSI] "" WinNT: / / $servername/administrators ' "

    $members = @($group.psbase.Invoke ("membres"))

    $results = $members | foreach {$_.} GetType(). InvokeMember("Name",'GetProperty',$null,$_,$null)}

    and the highlighted line is the specific code that fails.

    the specific error is:

    System.Management.Automation.MethodInvocationException: Exception calling "invoke" with "2" arguments: "the network path was not found.

    I noticed that if I replace with $servername in the 1st line with '. '. (it is run on the local server) It works very well. However, if I use the var $servername, or incorporate just a specific server name, it fails with the above error.

    Any help appreciated,

    Thanks in advance,

    John.

    There are some security restrictions applied when the power shell scripts remotely (what vCO made using the Microsoft WinRM service).

    To simulate a runtime environment similar outside the vCO, you can use "winrs" tool microsoft to call remote power shell script and check if the similar error will exist also outside the vCO.

    Bolg very extensive on the subject can be found here http://kaloferov.com/blog/using-credssp-with-the-vco-powershell-plugin/

    Hi stuart-vm,.

    I looked at the Dell website for the resolution of the problems of touchpad.
    Look at the troubleshooting here.
    http://support.Dell.com/support/topics/global.aspx/support/KCS/document?docid=277550#Issue0_0

    This is information from Dell:
    Press the NumLock key on your Dell laptop
    In order to have the features of a 101 keyboard keys on a laptop key 85, the NumLock key active keyboard 10 key functions that would be normally resident on the right side of a standard keyboard. Simply press again to return to normal operation

    I don't know if it will help your problem.

    There is a link to the Dell Diagnostics to see if there is a hardware problem:
    http://search.Dell.com/results.aspx?s=DHS&c=us&l=en&CS=19&k=hardware+diagnostics&cat=SUP

    You can post in the Dell Community listed below if the advice above does not help.

  • Need a powershell script to collect info patch esx

    Hello

    IAM looking for a powershell script that collects the result of "motion esxupdate" for all versions of esx host 3.5 in the Virtual center 2.5 version and exports to CSV file.

    It should take input as virtual Center and collect all the information of ESX host, connect to esx hosts, run the esxupdate query and update of the CSV with results.

    I got the code base of other scripts. I've pasted below. He collects only results for esx server in view of the need to modify the code for the above requirements.

  • How to call a statement VCB of PowerShell commands

    Good day everyone!

    I was pulling my hair recently trying to get a simple backup VCB working from powershell script.

    Basically, I can browse the script very well until I get to my statement VCB. My research led me to try the following:

    *

    "Set-Alias VCB"C:\Program VMware Consolidated Framework\vcbMounter.exe backup.

    *

    and VCB h $strVIHostname - a name: $strBackupName u $strVIUsername $strVIPassword - nbd t Pei fullvm - Ma & lt; way to place the backups & gt; »

    This part of the script generates the following error:

    (A complete virtual machine disassemble operation just to remove the exported files.)

    To: line: 75 char: 5

    + & & lt; & lt; & lt; & lt; VCB h $strVIHostname - a name: $strBackupName u $strVIUsername Pei $strVIPassword m ndb fullvm - r $strVCBBackupPath t $ strBackupName\$ strDayOfWeek

    I need to learn how to operate with reliability of PowerShell program statements, WHICH MUST INCLUDE of the parameters. Lame Microsoft do this NEVER, include additional parameters, which Im guessing is the place where the real complexity to do this...

    Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    In my backup VCB (of course in PowerShell) script, I use the http://System.Diagnostics.Process: Start method.

    This method allows me to capture the output of the command for later analysis.

    I packed the call to this method into a separate function.

    Something like that

    function Invoke-Cmd{
         param($cmd, $arguments)

         $global:StdOut = ""
         $global:StdErr = ""

         $pStart = new-object System.Diagnostics.ProcessStartInfo
         $pStart.Filename = $cmd
         $pStart.Arguments = $arguments
         $pStart.UseShellExecute = $false
         $pStart.ErrorDialog = $false
         $pStart.CreateNoWindow = $True
         $pStart.RedirectStandardOutput = $true
         $pStart.RedirectStandardError = $true
         $myProcess = [http://System.Diagnostics.Process|http://System.Diagnostics.Process]::Start($pStart)

         $myOutput = $myProcess.StandardOutput
         $myErrOutput = $myProcess.StandardError
         $global:StdOut = $myOutput.ReadToEnd()
         $global:StdErr = $myErrOutput.ReadToEnd()

         $myProcess.WaitForExit()

         $myProcess.ExitCode
    }

    ....
    # Call VCBmounter
         $myarg = "-h " + $VCBhost + " -u " + $VCBuser + " -p " + $VCBpassword + " -a " + $vmMoRef
         if($VCBbase -eq "image"){
           $myarg += (" -r " + $VCBSnapDirImage + "\" + $vmName + " -t fullvm")
         }
         else{
           $myarg += (" -r " + $VCBSnapDirFile + "\" + $vmName + " -t file")
         }
         $myarg += (" -M 1 -F 0 -L 0")
         $mycmd = $VCBProgDir + "\" + "vcbMounter.exe"
         $rc = Invoke-Cmd $mycmd $myarg
    ....

    Note: since it is an extract from my real VCB script there are a few variables requiring here maybe explain.

    VCBhost: the host name of the VCB Server

    VCBuser: the account that has the permissions required on VCB

    VCBpassword: the password of the account VCB

    vmMoRef: the object reference managed to the guest who needs to be backed up. Get it as follows: (Get - VM |) Get - View). MoRef

    Variable%%: asked the type of backup VCB (image or file)

    VCBSnapDirImage: directory where image snapshots are stored

    VCBSnapDirFile: directory where file snapshots are stored

    VMname: name of the guest

    VCBProgDir: directory where the VCB commands

    I hope that it affects you on the right track.
