  I got an old Sony TRV119 a few weeks ago at a yard sale.  It's an analog 8mm camera.  I intend to use it to transfer a box full of old 8mm tapes that I have in the 90's on DVD.  I have a Sony TRV30 or a Sony HDR - HC1 to use for analog-to-digital conversion, and then to my PC via IEEE 1394.  I'll make a montage with PPro CS4 and Encore CS4 allows to make the DVD.  I did it a couple of times before, but it has been a few years since the last time I did it and I barely remember how to connect to them.  The only thing I remember is that the Sony used for analog-to-digital conversion cannot have a tape inside to make it work.  I used the TRV30 for analog-to-digital conversion in the past.  If anyone can me clue or point me to a resource I would be very happy.  I think that similar to this discussion have been on this forum in the past, but I can find them.

  Not sure if it will work, but you could hang the trv119 with a composite to the trv30 and the trv30 with firewire to the computer.

• PPro CS4 crashes when clip reversed

  We use PPro CS4 on Vista 64-bit machine.  We have several clips that had something in them, dust, so we created a mask to cover the task.  It has worked very well after doing this.  Our problem occurs in a clip we want to reverse (we want the clouds to move the opposite direction).  Body crashes.  We have tried to overthrow the clip, and then creating the mask.  We also tried creating the mask, and then reverse the clip, or the other that body crashes.  What we're doing wrong?  Here are the steps we use to create the mask and reverse the clip.

  1 clip is on the timeline in track 1.

  2. right click on the clip speed/duration, reverse speed

  3 make the clamp to ensure playback, that's what we want to

  4. right click on the clip, copy and paste to track 2

  5. in track 2, apply a Gaussian blur to blur dust spot

  6. create a new title, using the Ellipse tool, place of coverage

  7 title properties, ensure that the color is completely white, close title screen.

  8 drag created the title of track 3 and set the duration of the clip to match the track 1 & 2

  9. in track 2, apply overlay cache track and optionally mate choose Track3. - This is the point that the body hangs.

  This is a bug.  I have reproduced here.

  Export a copy of the clip just reverse, and then use the copy exported instead of copying reversed in the sequence.

  Anyone heard anything yet on a fix for the problems of time code with images of Sony XDCAM EX import? that is all imported timecode start to 0:00:00:00.

  You know that we are able to help before reaching post # 20.

  Disable all antivirus, antispam software and the like, including Windows Defender. Uninstall all Adobe. Run the Clean Script Utility 2 or 3 times just to be sure (look here: http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/406/kb406241.html) then reinstall and run all the updates. If this still doesn't work, post a screenshot of Process Explorer (look here: Utilities of Sysinternals ) with all of the running processes.

  While you're at it, consider adding at least 1 physical eSATA disk but 2 best, your system (assuming a laptop because of the mobility of the ATI version).

  I use the trial. Wanted to experience the burn on a DVD. I tried a few methods. When I choose to share via DVD the image size is reduced to 720 when the project, which I pointed out, is set to 1080. I checked all the information on all the sequences and to 1080. Can you please help me to understand why this is? Is it because it is a trial version?

  Need this burning by Jan 16 so I'm panicking a bit.

  I successfully exported a QuickTime desktop at full 1080 resolution. I am tired of this combustion, but it didn't... it may have been because of my DVD player or disc? DVD - RW? It takes +? ...

  It is actually 480, the vertical height. This is because the DVD is an obsolete format and does not support HD, SD Media strictly

• All of a sudden, the .mts files and some mp4s will not load project on one computer (still works great on the second computer)

  Worked on a project all week, no problem.  Had to restart the computer, project manager, now all files .mts say 'type of compression not supported', and some fine previously mp4s (made in After Effects) to display only green.  But it's not all mp4s, only some of them.  Through all the forums.  Do you have all the deactivation, reactivation, uninstalling, re-installing, etc..  The same problem.  Responsible for the project even upward on a laptop and it works fine.

  Nothing new has been installed.  Nothing has changed on the computer.  I rebooted, it so I could move to another office.  It worked very well at 09:55 this morning, and when I tried to reload the project after the restart at 10:20, it no longer works.

  Fortunately, my laptop slow can at least load and export the final of this project.  But I need my rear main system.

  Installs all the files in a NEW folder (not only renamed the current folder), can of the moment, and now they all work again!

  Hello.  This is my first time to be on this forum.  I made a video for the banquet of my grade 5 class which is TOMORROW NIGHT, .  My video looks awesome on the timeline, but when I export an MPEG or AVI, some images appear not to the top of the way they do on my calendar.  For example, many paintings have a black bar above and below the image that is not on my calendar first elements 11.  I pray that I can fix it because I'm willing to stay up ALL night to understand.  Everyone on here who can help me, pretty please?  Thank you!!

  Black bars indicate a discrepancy between the size of the frame of the project and the Source of the images/photos.

  When I export it to the format 720 p video, everything works fine.

  On the other hand, when I want to export it to the 1080 p format, the progress bar in the top left appears. But nothing is happening, be it after 5 minutes, 2 h, see all night. The slide show is not exported.

  I could utiiese that others had this same problem.

  Y ' a t it a solution identified this problem? a fix is planned soon?

  Try to remove the vertical orientation (portrait) all files from the picture slide show and see if slide show video 1080 p export works.

• Try the full Version: still have black bar across the project... why?

  I just downloaded the full version of first Elements 9 for my Mac.  The project I had created with the trial version that I've been led to believe would cease to have the black bar on the video once I have downloaded and installed the full version.  The black bar is still there.  Is there anything else I need to do to make it disappear?

  I would like to know if there is an option that can cut the sides of the video instead of insert black bars.

  In my Adobe Premiere-timelime film is fine. The image size is 720 x 576 (PAL) and so is the size of my sequence. I'm now trying to export to YouTube and the other actors of the web, which are 640 x 480. But I don't know what settings to use so that I don't get the black bars.

  Maybe next time I should create a sequence in 640 x 480 right?

  That is right.

  If you want to get rid of those bars you must "reframe the output video" in the source of the export settings tab.

• CS4 - how to export a video with Alpha of PPro CS4?

  I've done this a million times in CS3 and before and After Effects (all versions up to CS4) but I can not fine in CS4 with the new encoder.  I use XP32.

  Someone will give me instructions step by step to creating a 1280x720p with alpha .avi file in the media encoder?  Is there a "Preset" already for this?  I tried the two QT.mov and. AVI and I either get garbage when I import the file back in or I get video black under my video, even if the file says that it has an alpha channel, when I import it back in PPCS4.
