Prepare a form in a PDF file is very slow

I just downloaded Adobe Acrobat to give it a try and convert a PDF file into a form to fill out. So far so good, but he began to be so slow, I have to wait for like 40 seconds each time I have move or resize something, so it's unbearable! First of all, I see the clock and then the beachball begins to turn for almost a minute. I restarted the application, then the iMac and nothing changes.

This is the latest possible (I think!) and I use the latest version of OSX in my iMac. The PDF is 1 MB, only a single page.

Is there something I can do to speed things up?

  • How to fill a field of electronic signature in the form of interactive PDF file (created in Indesign)?

How to fill a field of electronic signature in the form of interactive PDF file (created in Indesign)? This form will serve as an application on a Web site. The goal is to have access to anyone (interested to apply for a job via Internet), fill out and electronically sign the form on presentation.

Please follow the steps and let me know if this helps

    1. Open the PDF in Acrobat
    2. Click on tools in the upper right > select Forms > click on edit
    3. It would ask you if you want to make changes, select Yes
    4. Then it will give you options to add a Signature field on the right side of Acrobat
    5. Add the field and save the form
  • Disorder of conversion of fonts fake fat in forms / incorporation in PDF files

    Hi all

Poster for the firs time naked with me.

I have some album artwork that uses a font like hand that is fake fat. and he won't let me convert it to forms. Printing company asked two fonts must be converted to fonts embedded in PDF files or forms. I tried to do both and had no success. Test prints I myself just make fonts printing a weird color.

Don't know what to do. This work will support 14 hours to get 2000 copies made and gives me major pain!

With the help of Photoshop CC 2014. Police must remain what it is that the customer insists.

Is there a way I can get this to work with photoshop or is there a work around to do this in InDesign?

    Urgent help is greatly appreciated!

    -Michael

As you have noticed, you cannot create a text with false style shape. However, there is workaround of sorts.

Select the text with the magic wand. Go to the paths and convert selection to a work path. Go to edit and select Define Custom shape... Give it a name and click OK. It will now be part of your collection of form for the custom shape tool. Understand what size you want it to be and make sure keep Proportions is selected.

It is certainly a hack. YMMV.

  • Send the form as a PDF file

    Hello

I created a PDF document to be completed using Adobe Acrobat Pro XI for MAC and the bottom of the form, I added a button to send the form.  This form is being completed by employees using Adobe Acrobat Reader.  They must complete the form and click on send form sent to the correct email address.

Like "Button properties", I went into the ACTION tab and configure the following:

    SELECT TRIGGER: Mouse upwards

    SELECTION ACTION: Submit a form

SUBMIT the FORM A properties, I put everything that this way:

ENTER THE link URL: mailto: [email protected]

Export FORMAT: PDF of the entire document

The problem I have is when the form is completed by the employees, they get an error message saying: it cannot be sent.  I searched the web and found out that Acrobat Reader can't send PDF Forms.  I tried to change the option to export to FDF, XFDF or HTML FORMAT, but none of them worked...

I'm sure that there is a way to configure my form to send it (once completed) average of acrobat reader but I can't find how to do this.  Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance for your time!

  • Merger of Livecycle form into 1 PDF file

Can someone tell me please how to merge into a single PDF Livecycle forms! When I merge forms only the last form has to generate data.

Unfortunately, I don't think you can do this with CF. IIRC, forms are flattened when you perform a merge. CF not allowing the flattening of LiveCycle forms (licensing reasons...), this is probably why you end up with one or more blank forms. You can complete the forms LiveCycle of CF, but flattening is only possible with LiveCycle.

  • Get the properties of a large TDMS file is very slow

I have a very large file PDM with about 3000 properties. After that I open the file, it will take about 2 sec to read a property with the PDM get properties VI. I'm reading all the properties, so I can do some calculations on them. It takes too long to read them all. Y at - it a faster way to read. I think now I should have stored the values in a channel, but it does not help my situation.

    George

Thank you for your answer, George!

Then, I'm afraid that there is no simple workaround solution unfortunately. If possible, you may want to consider splitting the TDMS file to some smaller TDMS files. We had similar bugs report, on the performance of the PDM get properties, especially when having a large number of properties PDM, we worked on possible optimization now.

  • Solution to improve performance (to increase speed) when opening PDF files with large 3d model?

I insert a large .u3d model of construction in PDF file (more), very slow when opening it (more than 30 minutes). Is it possible to improve it during the creation of the PDF file? It is acceptable to reduce the precision of the model shape/color/texture when inserting in the PDF. I think that my hardware is OK, THINKPAD 520 with 8G of RAM. It's urgent for me. For solutions or clues, please let me know.

    Thank you and best regards.

No direct experience of Okino but you won't find many people who say that their PolyTrans is a powerful tool. However, I have tested all other applications that I mentioned in my previous answer by a remark: If you aim to simplify the mesh, they are all extremely complex. Perhaps, the only suitable for the layman is Rhino rhinoceros - downloads; it provides an export utility where users can select several options to reduce the number of nodes. Also look at the script environment: I could quite easily find a way to generate scripts in Blender and MeshLab to process a batch of files without the GUI, but I didn't do it with Rhino, but I see it has script capabilities Rhinoceros - overview and Developer: rhinoscript [McNeel Wiki]

  • Combining forms with pdf files

I need to find a way to combine my new LiveCycle form with my pdf files that have reliable text fields. When I try to combine them, I get a message saying "Adobe XML forms cannot be merged". My goal is to be able to link and fill in all the fields of the form to pdf files. Thank you in advance.

You will need to combine them all in LiveCycle. PDF of Acrobat and LiveCycle PDF are not compatible.

  • Inserting text in a PDF file

    Hi all!

I am quite new to InDesign, but I am delighted to see such a vibrant community on the official forums. I get along very well with her, absolutely great program, I can be in love...

But, I hit something of a problem. I do a brouchre digital sales, and 99% of the text will remain the same, but there are a few sections where text needs to be changed by the sales guys in our offices (customer name, customer requirements and costing)

Acrobat Pro is too expensive for these simple changes, and tried to insert form fields as a workaround but discovered that you can't change the font of the day!

I use InDesign CS6. Is there anything I can do for these small editable sections? This document will be published by end users so needless to say, it must be simple!

Otherwise is it possible that the text can be inserted dynamically? For example, sales guys insert the text and costs in a web form and the PDF file is spat at the other end?

I know PDF is finalized files, but I hope that there is adequate workaround! Anything to get them to stop using Microsoft Word!

You are not limited to the time in PDF forms in Acrobat. If you control a click on the text box, you can change the properties. I think that there is a limit for the fonts that you can use in a text box and the person using the form must have the font on their system, so it is best to choose a commune.

  • problem w / script to merge 2 PDF files

    Hello

Is anyone please tell me what is the problem with my JavaScript?

var newDoc = app.newDoc ();  create a new doc PDF

    newDoc.insertPages ({nPage:-1, cPath: "/ c/doc1.pdf",});    Insert doc1.pdf

    newDoc.insertPages ({nPage: newDoc.numPages, cPath: "/ c/doc2.pdf",});   Insert doc2.pdf

    newDoc.saveAs ({cPath: "/ c/myNewDoc.pdf"});     Save the new doc

    newDoc.closeDoc (true);    close the doc

I fell on the batch processing of Adobe Pro 9.0 - he gave me the invalid argument type.

    Undefined Doc.insertPages:13:Batch: Exec = > nPage parameter.

I'm trying to merge 2 PDF files using the Acrobat JavaScript Scripting Guide script sample, but it does not work for some reason any.

I can has merged the 2 PDF files manually, but not by script.  I hope that in a script I can forced Adobe XFA forms that I created LCDesigner with the AcroForms.  Merge AcroForms and XFA forms.  I know that in manually may not merge. I wonder if it can it be done through JavaScript?  The doc1 doc2 I have are regular AcroForms

Thank you 1 million for your help & suggestions

    Trang

    Hi Trang,

XFA forms (created in the LC Designer) and AcroForms (created in Acrobat) are completely different animals!

The XFA form is wrapped in a wrapper that runs in Acrobat/Reader. You cannot merge (AFAIK) an XFA form and a PDF (or AcroForm).

The best that you will achieve is to attach an XFA form into a PDF file.

Alternatively, you can group the XFA and PDF forms in a portfolio.

    Good luck

  • How to extract the police from a .pdf file?

I read a novel in the form of ebook .pdf file. The police is beautiful and I've not seen before. In the pdf file, the police are the same (vary in size, boldness, etc., but the police are the same).

Can someone tell me if there is a way to extract the name of the font used in the file?

I went to properties-> fonts and this is the information I found:

    What's the Font.JPG

Also if you are able to identify the police by simple observation (behind the Properties window, that the word 'way' is written in the font I want) please let me know.

    Kind regards

    -sgsawant

It looks like a font that comes is not recognized. There is not much you can do about it. I guess you are trying to say that you just want to know what it is if you can go buy it?

If so, one thing you could do is to take a screenshot of part of the text then run via http://new.myfonts.com/WhatTheFont/. It does a decent job of identification of fonts.

  • How to save a PDF file in Adobe so it appears correctly in the Firefox default drive?

I have seen discussions on how to change your own settings of Firefox for poster correctly PDF files (documents to look at a PDF in Firefox 19 +) However, I'm looking for a solution on how to save a PDF file so that they display correctly in the new default Firefox reader. Our files PDF is bad looking and I can not go in the browser of each clients and difficulty settings (http://www.cherrybekaertbenefits.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/07/ACA_Infographic_072114.pdf). Meet them all parameters within the Acrobat Distiller is going to fix this without the Viewer to enter their own arrangements?

    Hmm, not a subtle difference.

We did not have many experts PDF or Adobe Illustrator users post advice here; those who might be sprinkled around on other forums, blogs or support sites.

I noticed when you view the properties of the PDF in Adobe Reader that the PDF has been created with optimization for active fast Web view. This is a feature that allows the progressive rendering of PDF files over a slow connection (http://helpx.adobe.com/illustrator/kb/optimize-native-pdf-file-sizes.html#...). You can try to re - generate the PDF file with this feature turned off to see if that makes a difference?

  • PDF files very move chunkily

PDF files move very "chunkily", which is never smooth, on my iMac. I try to use the bar to slide on the right and he does nothing - gives me the spinning wheel of death, jumps several pages. When I use the button to move down a page at a time, it takes 4 to 6 seconds to answer. This is true regardless of whether if I use a 3 pages in PDF format or a 500 page PDF file (which is in editing, so I do a lot). It is seriously disrupting my work.

I'm not even trying to change, add or subtract anything from documents, just flip through checking them.

    How can I fix?

I use an iMac 3.06 Ghz Intel Core 2 Duo, OS Lion 10.7.4. Upgrade to 4 GB of RAM, 16 GB of Ram DDR3 had no effect.

    Thank you.

    Hi Robert,.

I have my opinion, try to download and install the latest version of Adobe Reader (free) and check if you can read PDF files correctly. If it works fine, you can decide whether or not you should upgrade to Acrobat 10 (extra charge).
