Prepare the DPS kiosk app

Hello

I was in the final stages of this our magazine app and configure the options of newsstand in iTunes Connect. When I tried to download the application with the Application Loader I got a warning that the info.plist file was missing some information for booth newspapers. This file is located in the app package and had already been generated during application.

I tried to change it manually, but it did not work.

Question: Is there something I should be done when the export of the app from the DPS somehow flag or he ready for booth so that these lines of code are already present?

Otherwise, no one knows in a safe manner and relaible updated the info.plist file? I have TextWrangler, but may have been placing the code in the wrong places.

Thanks for the help!
Steve

Yes, you DPS Professional Edition or Enterprise Edition to build a Newstand application.

    Hi Pradeep,

  • How to teach the DPS 2015 without Preview app?

I taught a class during a few sessions with the Digital Publishing Suite, which allowed me to have students to test, demonstrate and share applications iPad with me through the content viewer.

It seems clear from reading many posts here and elsewhere on the preview (and watch videos of development on the way), that the preview of applications is not possible without credentials and signature of the app. It's VERY heavy for a simple introduction project. Is it true that there is no way to interact with an application "published" without having a developer account (with Apple, since we would only use the iPad platform)?

I found a program of institutional development for iOS developer for schools licenses, but to get this agreement would be with the entire University and apparently involve legal departments!

I, and I imagine many other educators, emergency hope a tool, like the content viewer, experimentation, training, instruction, etc., without having to formally engage Apple, Google or Microsoft to pretend that we are actually application developers

Fingers crossed, but not very optimistic...

    Thank you.

Roy as an educator, you have a few options:

    (1) continue to use "DPS Classic" with workflows based on Folio. We always support all aspects of the older environment.

    2) ask students to sign up for their own tests of 2015 DPS and all will have fully functional accounts for 30 days. With the application available to the public of preflight DPS (our new version of the content viewer), it is unnecessary to create a custom application to display a preview of the content.

    (3) have your Department tender hand to their Adobe representative to discuss the structure of prices for EDU.

I have worked with a number of universities and colleges, and my advice to them is to continue to teach InDesign workflows for printing, but also educate them about HTML for Web and Mobile workflows. We try to create sur-rampes as much as possible to get the content in the platform. An excellent article by David Hicks speaks where InDesign fits into a mobile design: http://www.fipp.com/news/opinion/is-indesign-becoming-redundant-for-digital-publishers

Tools such as Adobe MUSE will become nice options for creating content fluid and responsive to DPS.

If the DPS route does not work for your class consider looking creation files ePub ch-setting in page or using Adobe InDesign publishing online in 2015.

Can you read a DPS 2015 app when you are not connected to the wi - fi?

As mentioned, articles that have already been viewed are cached locally on the device for offline use. Note that the application, if any, will remove the oldest available items to free up space.

If your reader wants to ensure that a collection is available offline, we have a new feature on iOS which was released Friday, which allows an explicit download of a collection and prevents purged automatically. See Digital Publishing Solution helps | What's new in this version of DPS 2015 for more information. This feature is currently on iOS, and will be available on Android and Windows in a few weeks.

  • DPS App Builder.app vs the generator online app

I can still build new iPad apps (and update older for 64-bit) using the DPS App Builder.app on my computer?

I understand that I must use the generator online to: https://appbuilder.digitalpublishing.acrobat.com/#/login to create Android applications.

For the iPad applications does it matter that the one that I use?

    Thank you

    Dave

The Office DPS App Builder to create iOS applications. Use the App from the DPS on the Web to create Android applications and Windows.

You cannot use the Web-based DPS App Builder to create iOS apps, and you cannot use the desktop computer DPS App Builder to create Android/Windows applications.

  • Make the iPhone with DPS Professional App

    Hello

I work in several applications for iPhone. Right now, I'm just a member of the DPS simple editing because so far I just need making the iPad applications. My point is... What do I have to create an iPhone app and download it in the App Store? Professional Edition is perfect? And one last question, how many Apps for iPhone can I create and download each month?

I really appreciate your help. Thank you very much for your answer.

    Best,

    E.

You're confused apps with folios. For iPhone, you must have a pro account, which limits you to a single application with as many pages as you want.

  • How can you choose insread iphone ipad app from the DPS app generator?

    Hi guys

When I select Create from Indesign to create my application iPhone app, it goes to the app DPS constructor and then set to default iPad. How can I change to create an app instead of the iPad app? On the left side on DPS App Builder, I see the iPad and the details of the App. According to the guide of the Adobe, there is another screen that you select the type of application (iPhone and IPad).

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you

Do not use the command Create App. DPS App Builder from the Applications folder. Then log in with an account that has the role of DPS App Builder. You need a Pro or Enterprise subscription to create an application that works on iPhone and iPad. Create an application for both, not separate apps.

  • The DPS App Builder is available as a separate download?

I have the creative cloud and facilities on my desktop and laptop. I would like to be able to use the Builder App of DPS, but because it is not available for Windows (NOT happy about), I have no other choice than to use a Mac for the portion of the workflow. In these circumstances, I have access to a Mac, but I don't want to use one of my installations on a machine I would use only and is not under my direct control. I don't want to do this kind of things activation dancing.

Is there a way to get the separate InDesign App Builder so I can do my files on my own machines and then create the app on Mac?

You can get App Builder separately, but as a user of creative cloud, you can only create your application via the menu item Create App in InDesign. You will need to install InDesign on Mac.
