  It seems that any group I have add an account for the ldap memberOf thinks it is except for the domain users group. Is there a specific exclusion of this group somewhere? It does not seem to be a problem with space in name, because if I test it with other default groups like domain administrators, it works. Debugging ldap 255 returns every other group membership for an account with the exception of users in the domain.

  for the user name attribute active directory samAccountName, can you please try that instead of CN?

  If it doesn't work, can paste you the information from the user, you can use the ldifde command to export the user to Active Directory.

  Well, I do support funds for a University that has all their PC on an Active Directory domain and all computers running Windows XP, essentially a user asked me to attach a USB printer to his PC just to share it with others in the Office of the Pc... simple right? So I did and printer sharing worked well, but it works just fine if I turn the firewall the host PC that is attached to the printer off or if I take the PC out of Active Directory. So if I reset the PC host on Active Directory or put the firewall on you cannot share the printer. I checked the exception in the firewall to ensure that port TCP 139 is there and it is, I spoke with the it Department of the University on this topic and do not know what to say. So I come to you guys, if she is Active Directory, which is the cause then I would really the skills of a person on this issue please!   Try to access the print administrator servers. To troubleshoot the device, try the following steps.

  1. click on start, click on devices and printers.
  2. right click on the item of the printer and click on solve.
   
  Installation of control network - go to control panel, printers and click Add new printer. Click network printer, and then click Browse for printer. »
   
  What application you are printing from?  Uninstall/reinstall the application - e.g., Word, Adobe, etc...

  Best solution is to not not P2V for the use of a domain controller, but use dcpromo on a virtual computer to build a new domain controller and use on the old dcpromo to demote.

  In any case if you really want to do a P2V just be sure this tip:

  • ALWAYS use a cold converter (using the enterprise Converter CD live)

  • Make sure that the zero of the FSMO role are on the domain controller that you are to P2V (during the conversion you can move them again)

  • don't forget that the replication is fine before and after (use replmon)

  • If possible, during P2V do no AD on another DC change

  • When you DC are converted into virtual NEVER power on the old (connected to the network)
