It depends on your printer, but if you select Preferences when you go to print, there should be a selection of color or gray scale.

  • Satellite A110-195: black & white photo on TV with s-video connection

When I connect to my laptop to TV with S-video cable, I get black white picture on TV. I tried to solve the problem with little things, but it is still black & white photo on TV. I have tried to change all settings to pal/ntsc under graphics properties, change the S-video cables, install a new graphics driver...

Beside that I have desktop computer with S-video out and it works with the same cables and even TV (it's color).
I noticed that this problem is very often, not just with my laptop with many many others...

Can someone tell me what I should try to do?

As far as I know the S-video port on television must be enabled. If you have the same problem with most of the other laptops it's obviously this problem is TV and not PC.

Check the TV settings and make sure that the correct port is enabled.

    Hi Baba,

Here are some step by step instructions that show you how to achieve this effect very easily thanks to the quick selection tool and a white adjustment layer to black & white.

    1. open your image in Photoshop. In the toolbar, click the Quick Selection tool and select your topic.

2 go to Select > refine edge and use the dialog box to clean up your selection - I activated the option Smart Radius and increases the radius of the selection. When you are finished, click OK.

3 go to Select > Inverse.

    4. locate the Control Panel settings - default, it must be located above the layers (in CS6) Panel, but if you don't, go to window > adjustments. Click the black & white setting icon, as shown below. Your subject will remain in color, but the parameter should turn black and white, as you can see below.

For more information on the use of adjustment layers, here's a little video happening on the basics:

  • Satellite Pro A300D - black & white photo via S-video

    Hello

I have a Satellite Pro A300D. After months of work perfectly, it now gives me a black & white image on my screen extended through my S Video Jack, although my laptop screen is in color.

I checked all the wires and they are fine. Did I miss something?

    Hello

I had the same problem on my laptop satellite. I connected the laptop to my TV using an S-video cable and the image was just black & white.

After reading here in the forum, I founded that I should try another cable. So I went to my local computer store and bought a high quality cable. I plugged the laptop once again on TV and everything was fine! :)

And don t forget you check the settings of the TV in the display driver. If you have an NTSC TV, you will need to use this mode, otherwise the PAL mode.

I had the same problem on my laptop of 7 years and a TV device.
I connected the laptop to the TV with the s-video-to-scart cable and I did only get a black and white picture on television.

I thought that there s a problem of software/setting, but I was wrong.
After hours of research, I discovered that the assignment of the cable pins was not correct and is not compatible with the plug SCART TV.

I tested about 5 cables and finally among the new generations of s-video cable has been the key.

In my opinion, you should try some cables.

    Good luck

  • Black and white photos at the start of printing OK then turns reddish, changed the cartridges, same problem

HP Photosmart C4600 all in one printer, HP, Windows7 desktop. When I try to print copies of old black & white photos, on premium Matt paper or any document (I tried all), with settings for grayscale or black and white, printing starts OK (black & white) and soon begins to print with a reddish tint. I changed the cartridge back & White 3 times with the HP cartridges and the problem persists. I cleaned my print heads, the problem persists, I tried various other parameters without result. Finally, I gave up and I went back to my old Epson 15 year for problem free Photo printing. How can this problem be fixed? Thank you!

When you print graphics color cartridges are usually used to print even black and white.  In addition, when printing on the paper color photo is always used as the pigmented black ink cartridge is not compatible with the photo paper.

It would seem that your color ink runs out.  See the troubleshooting steps described in this page.  Most likely, you need a fresh color cartridge.

  • Black and white photos, impression in the purple form

My wife has been copying some black & white family photos historical.  Six or more printed correctly, then a photo past black & white to one your purpleish to phase full of 90%, only the lower part had changed colors.  We loaded another cartridge printing black, believing that it was the cause, but to no avail.  Now all the photos to Black & white print in purple.

    Printing standard is fine.

    The copy is fine.

    The scan is fine.

But photo printing results black & white photos in copies being 100% purple toned.

    Why?

Printer HP 6510, only two months old.

The printer uses color ink to print in black when printing on photo paper as the black pigmented ink is not compatible with the photo paper.  It seems that you have run out of yellow ink.  I would say the troubleshooting steps in the paper here to solve the problem.  Be sure to check the vents on the supply of yellow as the two solution.

    Hello

This happens usually if the print options or preferences are changed for your printer. To select print options, you must open the image you want to print. Most print options are located in the print dialog box, which you can access on the file menu in the program that you are using. The options that are available to you depend on the program and the printer you use.

To access some options, you may need to click on the link 'Options' or 'Advanced Options' button or tab in the print dialog box. To learn more about the print options for a program, see the information for the program.

Printing options are determined by your printer capabilities are called printing preferences and may include printing separation pages, color or image quality options and Staples. Like program options, printing preferences are displayed in the print dialog box. Look for the buttons labeled "Préférences" or "Properties". You can choose preferences each time you print a picture or preferences to default configuration to use for all the photos you send to a printer.

Try these steps and check the result.
Step 1: Set the default printing preferences.
    1. Click here to open Printers.
2 right-click the printer you want to use, and then click Printing Preferences.
    3. Select the preferences you want to use as the default the next time you print to the printer, and then click OK.

    Step 2: Use print preview:
To see what the print will look like before you print it, open the picture in Windows Photo Gallery that offers a preview before printing. Print preview is typically located on the file menu. You can choose the print in preview mode options and then print directly from the preview.

To solve printer problems, download and run the Microsoft fix it and check the result.

    I hope this helps.

  • Print issues with old photos scanned .jpeg prints too large & can't print in black & white

I have a bunch of old photos & scanned articles of a scanner flat of maybe 10 years ago or not.   These are all .jpeg files.

First of all, when I print on the Windows Live Photo Gallery, they are all print in color, no matter if I change my printer settings or if I go in settings in Windows Live Photo Gallery and deselect color.

Secondly, not printing in black & white, they all print out extra large and therefore do not fit on an 8 1/2 x 11 pages.  All this elements analysed in years were roughly between 3 "x 5" until maybe 8 'x 10'. "  The fact is that they don't print as I would like.

One last question, is that I have a newspaper article large .pdf format.  I printed it weeks and had no point of color above.  But I printed this on paper 11 "x 17".pdf file.  She printed on the entire page, but it was stopped at the bottom of each printed page, and I don't understand why.  Which certainly confused me.  Any suggestions?  My plan was to save the pages together to view the log what it was.  It's pages of the newspaper of 1886.

    Thank you

    Sue

    Hi Sue,

We apologize for the delay in response.

This problem occurs with the printer settings.

I wish that you run the printer Troubleshooter and see if that fixes the problem.

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/open-the-printer-Troubleshooter

Note: He made sure that a printer is connected to your computer, and it checks for common issues such as whether the printer has enough paper and toner to complete printing your document.

If the problem persists, please refer to the article and check if it helps.

  • Photosmart 7510 - will not print black on any parameter of photo paper (does not print on plain paper setting)?

HP Potosmart 7510, printing from a memory card.  Using premium photo paper (glossy), set printer to print on HP Premium Plus Photo), printing out with Black/Brown areas in the blue-green instead of black.  Printing using plain paper, set printer on regular paper, just fine.    Same thing happens when I tried Advanced Photo and a Photo paper - print comes out with a blue-greenish cast in areas that should be black/brown.

Tried to print a black and white photo - identical to all other attempts - if the choice of the photo options paper, the dark areas are blue/green.

Comment - then try printing from the computer (wireless), produced the same result - black areas are printed in blue-greenish.

Tried cleaning the cartridges, alignment printer, print quality status report looks very good.

Door on this forum and general web search.  Nothing has yet solved problem.

What should I do?  Any ideas/suggestions?

Yes, this is the case on a 7510.  I worked on the answer.  Although "ink" diagnostice demonstrates both the black and the cartridges 'photo black' as being low, the 'black photo' was apparently empty.  The black of the photo must be called only because when the print properties are defined for the "photo paper", and when it is empty the black dark areas print in blue-green.  I thought that the black photo cartridge was a gray, for most thin shades grey, but maybe it's an intensifier of some sort.  It's a shame that HP does publish no real information.

  • Unable to print black and white with an empty cartridge

My printer will not print not black-and-white, except when a color cartridge is replaced empty.

How can I print black with an empty color in place cartridge?

Some IIC (individual ink cartridge) printers have print heads that require ink available for periodic maintenance tasks. This avoids problems with hooves in the print head and the bad print quality. The following printers are unable to print when a cartridge is empty, even if the other cartridges.

If one or more color ink cartridges are low but not empty and you want to minimize the use of color ink, you can change the settings in the HP software to print in black ink only (grey levels). Even if you change the print settings to print in black ink only, the other ink cartridges still have ink in them so that the printer to print.

If you choose to print in black ink only, the printer always uses small amounts of ink from all cartridges for occasional maintenance tasks. HP recommends to replace the low ink cartridges in order to avoid any interruption in printing.

    Thank you

Hello and welcome to the community of HP @naristot,

I understand that you would like to know if you can continue printing in black ink, if one of the color toner is empty. I'll be happy to help you.

This printer was designed to function as a system of four cartridges, so you must have all four available ink cartridges in order to be able to print.
