Print Media Player 12 library

I want to be able to print a list of CDs that are in my Windows Media Player 12 library.

Is there a Power Toy or something for this?

Maybe I can export a file in Word or Excel?

Hi WebDad,

Power Toys was for Windows Media Player 7 and Windows XP support. Microsoft is yet to come with a tool that supports this, as he has done for Windows Media Player 7. However, you can have a look at this link which is for Windows Media Player 7 on Windows XP. http://www.Microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/player/BonusPack/PowerToys.aspx

Here, he talks about how to import/export a playlist from Windows Media Player to Excel.

Windows Media Player 12 library issues

The library settings of WMP on my Win7 x 86 Ult PC appear to have corrupted after clicking on a BSOD just as I recorded a new network folder in music library settings. It was very well until now, but after the restart, will organize > manage libraries > music does not return a screen. Other libraries, such as the image will be open a screen and can be kept, but it seems that the media in these cases does not actually view.

Restore the system to a point before the BSOD did not fix the issue.

Running MS FixIt for Windows Media Player has not fixed the problem.

Running sfc/scannow does not detect any problems.

Deletion of the library and the settings deleting the folder AppData/Microsoft/Media Player did not help.

The only possible solution I am aware of what I have not tried is to uninstall/reinstall WMP via Add or remove features - I'm reluctant to do for the simple reason that this step seems also to uninstall Windows Media Center, I receive countless hours over the past four years, get the installer of my _extremely_ preferences - and there are also of the OEM changes (its a VAIO Sony's older) as art of support and background disc changer that I would struggle to restore.

Have to reinstall Media Center from scratch would be a disaster even greater that losing the music library, which is a fairly large disaster already.

Someone knows some way to correct this problem _without_ lose all my settings in Media Center?

    PROBLEM SOLVED

I noticed another possible solution in another thread and it worked - in Explorer to delete the folder music 'Libraries' section, click on the section heading 'Libraries' and select 'Restore default libraries' in the menu.

I then could open WMP and add my network via the feature folder successfully organize.

My music library has been deleted accidentally off Media Player 12 on Windows 7 Ultimate SP1 x 86. I was in and uninstalled Media Player. Reinstalled. delete the application data files. and yet when I try to rebuild/add my music files in Media Player 12 they are not sort as before. 90% are listed as UNKNOWN, and they were specifically listed before. This is the same except the folder as always. That was not deleted. Only the Media Player media files. What has gone wrong? How can I solve this problem? Is - fixable? I don't want to start thinking about having to manually change each album and song, you talk about 200 + GB.    Help, please.

Uninstalling and reinstalling software should work.

  • I deleted a single file from my Windows Media Player 11 library and now I want it in my library - how should I do this?

Am running Windows XP and removed a single file of the library only (and not from the library and my computer) and can see the file in the folder, it can play in Windows Media Player by clicking on it in the folder, but can't find a way to 'restore' the file so I can see it again in my WMP library.  Any way to do this without rebuilding the entire library?

    Hi JohnEvergreen,

    Follow these steps:

    (a) open Windows Media Player (WMP).

    (b) access to the "library". Click the menu "file" at the top of WMP. Select "Add to library" and wait for the dialog box labeled in order to pop open.

    (c) restore files. Click on the 'Advanced Options' button in the dialog 'Add to library'. In the column "watched folders" make sure that the folder that contains your original music is selected, which is indicated in the column "Type" as "Rip folder. Look under the section "watched folders" and ensure that a tick is filled to "Add files previously deleted from the library." Click on the 'OK' button and wait for the dialog box "Add to library by searching computer" to open it.

    (d) in the look in dialog box "Add to library by searching computer" at the 'progress' bar, indicated by a green line moving from left to right; also, below, monitor the "found files" and "added files" account.

  • Windows Media Player - corrupted library

    Separated from this thread.

    EIS,

I am running Windows 7, 64-bit home etsur and have Windows Media Player V12.

I have two big problems with WMP, the first is a library corrupt - I can not add properly

files to the library.  The other problem is that WMP will not successfully "apply media

Change information after I used the "Update Album Info" feature for albums that have been properly added. It evokes the

bar of progression, says it is 100% complete, but there has been no change in the Explorer of W...

As part of an attempt to solve the first problem I tried everything that follows, (not in this)

    ranking).

Convenience store of the Player library run Media 1.).

2.) run Media player troubleshooting utility parameters.
3.) and then, if necessary, run [alt - t], advanced tool, restoration of the library
4.) remove the WMP to force a complete rebuild - close WMP library database in the start menu

engine search box type %LOCALAPPDATA%\Microsoft\Media Player in Windows explorer which

seems to remove all files (but not the subfolders). See if that solved the problem.
5.A) Unload WMP - Panel, programs and features, [left] activate Windows features

on or off, multimedia, clear features checkbox Windows Media Player, Yes, OK, restart the PC.
5b.) Reload WMP - control panel programs and features, [left] activate Windows features

On or off, characteristics of media, select the Windows Media Player box, Yes, OK, restart the PC.

After 2). I thought that the first problem was resolved that 120 new albums ("unknown") have been

successfully added, but I noticed that there are a few folders that were not added and

cannot be added manually. Verification of the files that are included with the library management is not helping either. And the second problem persists.

If you can offer any new help, I would appreciate it.

Hi Steve, this is certainly the WAV format that's your problem. WAV is generally very bad marking support: WMP only WAV files tags once wrote during extraction, and they is not editable later. For more information, see

    http://thewelltemperedcomputer.com/SW/WMP/wav.htm

There is no need to re - tear the relevant albums that you can only convert WAV files to another format using a tool like dBpoweramp. Recommended formats are MP3 or WMA Lossless if you do not want quality loss.

  • Windows Media Player music library maintains itself duplication

My library of music guard preparation itself and I cannot understand why. I went through it and deleted duplicates twice now and a few days ago, they were back.  If I go in my libraries in the menu start none of my music splits just to the music to Windows Media Player list.

  • Windows media player icon library

Hello community, I am a true beginner so please bare with me. When I play my own videos recorded on Window Media Player, there is a 3 library icon that is square at the top right of the image what opening on you allows in other files such as images etc.

When I send this video by email as an attachment and open it in my mail SENT to my computer to check if everything was OK, the library icon is still there on the video to access my computer as before.

    (1) can I assume that this icon is only show on my video sent that I use the same computer, he sent.

    (2) can I assume that the person who receives the video accessory on e-mail can not see the icon and therefore does not have access to my files on the computer.

The library icon shows that if you go to the bottom of the video to indicate the break game etc, the library icon above as shown right.

I do not share my computer with others.

    See you soon

    Hello

This icon toggle you between the current playback mode (i.e. When you actually watch the video) and the mode of the library (where you make playlists and put things, etc.). That's all it is - its got nothing to do with which had permission to post this video file on other computers.

When you send the video file to someone by e-mail all that they get is the video file. This file can get opened by Windows Media Player or any other appropriate video player application. If the recipient uses Windows Media Player this icon will behave as it does for you - they can switch between the two modes (but on their computer). Basically, after emailing the video file, it will be then also exists on the hard drive of their computer and they will play them hard drive.

The video file attachment of e-mail in your sent folder exists on your hard drive, not the recipients.

A 'regular' video file, sent by electronic mail does not allow the recipient to access files on your computer, at least that separately configure you access for them in some way.

PS Please be careful opening email attachments (even from people you know) because they can be a source of pollution.

  • Cannot remove Windows Media Player 12 library

I want to remove the entire library in Windows Media Player 12 (running Windows 7) so I can start over with a new database. With previous versions of WMP, it was simple - I get the Media Player folder in the Local environment and remove all files (leaving the files). Now when I try to do it I get the message "cannot complete this action because the file is open in Windows Media Player Network Sharing Service. Close the file and try again. "How can I do this?

    Hi red high Mahoney,

Thank you for using the Microsoft Answers forums.

Make sure that the Windows Media Player Network Sharing Service network service or Windows Media Connect does not work as follows:

    1. click on start and then click on run
    2. in the run box, type services.msc
    3. in Services, locate the Windows Media Player Network Sharing Service or Windows Media Connect (WMC) and then verify that the status column is started
    4. double-click on the service and click on the Stop button, change the type to disabled startup
    5 restart the computer.

To reactivate the function repeat the above process, by clicking on the Start button instead of the stop and change the type of startup to automatic.

    Now try to delete libraries.

  • Media Player problem - library not updated

    Hello

I had a problem with my windows media player - it's are more updates from the music library.
Initially, the problem was with my i-tunes purchases only. I would like to download - it would save in my music folder - appear in my library of MP - then disappear from the library. He's doing the same trick with CD Ripper using the MP.
Trobleshooter told me that the files were corrupt but did not say who. Subsequent verifications and bugs says everything was ok, but this is not the problem is still there.

  • Impossible to update Media Player list library

Use a vinyl to digital converter for several years now. Read the album, enter the name of the artist and album to get the files in the desired files, type 1 or 2 garbage character for the title of the track, and then use Media Player to find info on the album. This process worked until dawn Saturday, October 20, 2012. Nothing, that I converted from shows and then up in Media Player. There are the titles that I deleted from my hard drive that always appear in the list of Media Player and I can't delete them. There are other tracks, that I can't change. This morning, I followed the process described above, and I saw the album in Media Player with the titles of the correct tracks, artist, composer, etc. after going through the process to find Album Info. I went back later and it's gone. Click all music, path and extra date added column, and the more recent things shown are starting on Saturday morning. Thought that maybe some automatic updates screwed things up. There were a few updates on the 19th and we the 21, but nothing is 20. Read the messages in the forum similar questions, but they were 2 to 3 years old and I didn't try the solutions that may not be valid/no things worse work/screws. Any help out there?

    Hi GregCowling,

Thanks for posting in the Microsoft Community.

I understand it's frustrating, but no need to worry I'll be more than happy to help you.

1 were there any hardware or software changes made on the computer before this problem?
    2. do you get an error message? If Yes, what is the exact full error message?

Follow the steps and check if that helps.

    Method 1
Run the troubleshooter in Windows Media Player settings and check if that makes a difference
Open the troubleshooting Windows Media Player settings Troubleshooter
    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/open-the-Windows-Media-Player-settings-Troubleshooter
Also, click on the link and run the fixit tool.
    http://support.Microsoft.com/mats/windows_media_player_diagnostic

    Method 2
Try to run in a boot minimum state see if that fix it. If so, allow some programs to try to determine what software is causing the problem.
To help resolve the error and other messages, you can start Windows 7 by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs. This type of boot is known as a "clean boot". A clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts.
    Click on the link:
    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929135
Note: Follow step 7 to reset the computer to start as usual after the boot process.

    Method 3
I suggest that you follow these steps and check if it helps.
Disable and enable Windows Media Player and check if it opens.
    (a) click Start and select Control Panel.
    (b) click on programs and features.
    (c) click on or turn off Windows features turn on on the left side.
    (d) develop the features of media; Uncheck Windows Media Player.
    (e) click Yes and OK to continue.
    (f) restart the computer.

Note: If windows media player is already disabled, follow the steps mentioned below:
After the restart, follow these steps:

    (a) click Start and select Control Panel.
    (b) click on programs and features.
    (c) click on Turn Windows features on the left side on or off.

    (d) to develop media features; Check the Windows Media Player.
    (e) click Yes and OK to continue.
    (f) restart the computer.
This would be re - install windows media player.
