Printer with two computers

I have a HP printer and use regularly two computers with this printer. Is there a device that will allow me to keep the two printers hooked so I don't need to get onw and rehook the other. I need a "splitter" or? Thank you

Another option is to network the two computers, either wired or wireless. Connect the printer to a computer and set up as a shared printer. Both computers will be able to print to the same printer.

  • The best way to manage email with two computers?

Hello. My wife and I shared a single hotmail address and it played back on Windows Live Mail for years. We got a second computer, ahe will use one and I'll use a new one. What are the options on how to handle our email? We would both keep our shared email address, and we both like to show emails via windows live mail on our separate computers. However, what are the suggestions from the community for how to manage our email here on out. Thank you.

I do not use WLM (you can ask in the forum here: www.windowslivehelp.com), but you should have a setting somewhere (in OE its under Tools |) Accounts | Mail | Properties | Advanced) and then you check the box to leave messages on the server when you download the messages instead of remove them (which is default) and while the two computers can read the messages.  However, on one of them to be removed after a number of days defined, otherwise they accumulate on the server and possibly the block on the account.  I'm sure that WLM has a similar setting, but you can ask in this forum.

  • Using Lightroom on a cloud with two computers / cities

I would like to use Lightroom on two Macs in two different cities.  What I want to do is move the photos to a Cloud system files as Dropbox are working with them on a computer in A city then travel to city B and work on them with another computer.  I think it's possible if I also have to put the file .ircat for the photos I work with in the same folder / system of clouds.  Will this work?  Thank you

    Hello

For the instructions, you can watch http://www.lightroomqueen.com/downloads/bookexcerpts/lr3excerpts/lr3sample-13-movingcomput ers.pdf.

    In other words:

If not already done so, take care that your images inside LR have 1 common [great-(large)-] parent folder, e.g. as the default windows MyPictures.

Copy on your new portable drive, as well as the Lightroom folder with the catalog and previews.

Open your catalog on the external hard drive, and then reconnect the missing parent [-great (grand-)] folder to the one on the same drive.

Continue to work from the external, hip drive on both computers.

This gives you the plugins and preferences separately on two macs.

But for those who you might actually use Dropbox synch, as Victoria Bampton. Its description on this use of dropbox is not part of the free pre-release material to read, but you will need to pass 14.99British book by instant download of the eBook.

  • can a cell phone work with my counter top prepaid... I want to buy a laptop & want just a re-payment for her more my computer desk top can my ISP allow me to use pre paid usb with two computers...

can pre-paid work with the office for example 2 computers and portable usb...

    THX in advance

The dongle is normall work on ANY Windows XP (SP2) or higher OS - whether on a desktop, laptop, netbook or Tablet - simply plug it into an available USB port and follow the instructions that come with it.

Your ISP does not need to know anything - but it is much cheaper to use focused on fixed-line broadband that the dongle-based, generally speaking, so I would stick with the landline for your desktop, unless you have a fault on the line.

All the dongles are based on usage - here in England you can get 1 GB prepaid for £10, 3 GB for £15 and 7 GB for 25 books on my ISP (and refills are valid for 28 days so you lose any unused allowance). What is the where you are I have no idea. Be aware that many providers expire your SIM card, if it is not replenished for a period of time (3 months, I think, for mine)

Contract dongles can be cheaper - and have quotas of similar (or better) use.

  • Analyze the capacity of 5520 e-all-in-one printer to two computers

I have an e-all-in-one printer Photosmart 5520 initially, I installed on my PC (windows). I downloaded the software for it on my MacBook Pro (snow leopard) successfully and print but having difficulty scans to my laptop. I activated the web analysis and can scan & e-mail scan from my laptop. When I tried to "Add a printer" (my laptop) on the HP site and entered the code request for the printer, I received a message that the printer has already been added to another computer and is limited to one account.  I have the HP Utility icon on my laptop computer desktop, but not the printer HP 5520 icon series that I have on the desktop PC that I would choose to get the print screen & scanning.  How can I configure my laptop up to be the same as the PC?  Thanks for any advice you can give... I'm lost :-(

Try scanning from your Mac. Use Image Capture app in your Applications folder.

Click once on the scanner on the left side, and then click Show details on the background. Along the right side you will see MANY options for scanning and recording.

  • Cannot print with wired computers

I use a laptop HP G71 (running Windows 7) which is connected via an Ethernet cable to my router.  I have an all-in-one network printer (HP Officejet 6500 E709n) connected to the wireless network.  The problem I have is that I can talk to any computer on the network through wired laptop, but I can't print to the printer.  To run the printer, the only way is to restart the computer or activate wireless laptop.

I would prefer not to use the functionality of the wireless laptop while on my network because of connection speed differences between wired / wireless.  The printer has an IP address assigned via the router and programmed into the printer, so I don't have to worry about trying to find every time.

My wife uses her laptop in the wireless, all the time and it can print anytime she wants without problem.  My printing problem may not not be the printer is configured on the wireless, so it's not really going through the router to accept print orders?

    Any suggestions would be helpful.

    Thank you

I know that it probably wasn't the easiest way to work, but I had finally run.

I saved what I maybe wanted to, made screenshots of things that could not be saved (information about the license, registration information, etc.).

Restore the computer to the factory.

  • Can I put my organizing catalog on a disk of Net work part with two computers?

PhotoShop Elements 11, running Windows 7 Professional

The second system would be running Windows 8.1

Would be nice if I could share the Organizer catalogue between the two systems.

If this does not work, I can save the catalog on the network drive to the primary system (running Windows 7) and then upload it into the second system (running Windows 8) given that production will take place on the Windows 7 system.  It would just be nice to always have the two systems "in phase".

According to adobe the way to proceed is to catalogue and photos on a removable drive and plug it into the computer in use at the time.

Both computers have at least one account with the same name and password?

A very old (but XP has been around for a long time) message by Malke MVP MS:

For XP, start by running the Network Setup Wizard the on all machines (see warning in section A below).

Problems sharing files between computers on a network are usually caused by 1) a misconfigured firewall or a firewall neglected (including a dynamic firewall in a virtual private network); or (2) inadvertently run two firewalls such as the firewall of Windows and a third-party firewall. and/or (3) do not have accounts to the same users and passwords on all computers in the workgroup. (4) tries to create actions where the operating system does not.

    A. configure the firewall on all machines to allow traffic to local area network (LAN) as being approved. With the Windows Firewall, it means which allows file sharing / print on the Exceptions tab normally run the XP Network Setup Wizard will take care of this for these machines. The only "witch hunt", it will turn on the XPSP2 Windows Firewall. If you are not running a third-party firewall or you have an antivirus with "Internet Worm Protection" (like Norton 2006/07) which acts as a firewall, you're fine. With a third-party firewall, I usually set up the allocation of LAN with an IP address range. E.g. would be 192.168.1.0 - 192.168.1.254. Obviously you would substitute your correct subnet. Do not run more than one firewall. DON'T STOP FIREWALLS; CONFIGURE THEM CORRECTLY.

    (B) to facilitate the Organization, put all computers in the same workgroup. This is done from the System applet in Control Panel, the computer name tab.

    C. create the counterpart of the user accounts and passwords on all machines. You do not need to be logged into the same account on all machines and assigned to each user account passwords can be different; accounts/passwords just need to exist and to match on all machines. DO NOT NEGLECT TO CREATE PASSWORDS, EVEN IF ONLY OF SIMPLE. If you want a machine to boot directly to the desktop (a particular user account) for convenience, you can do this. The instructions on this link work for XP and Vista: set up Windows for the connection automatically (MVP Ramesh) - http://windowsxp.mvps.org/Autologon.htm

    D. Si one or more of the computers is XP Pro or Media Center, turn off Simple file sharing (Folder Options > view tab).

    E. create share as you wish. XP Home does not share the users directory or the Program Files, but you can share folders inside those directories. A better choice is to simply use the Shared Documents folder. See the first link above for more information on Vista sharing.

    F. you have the job of file sharing (and tested by exchanging a file between machines), if you want to share a printer connected locally to one of your computers, share of this machine. Then go to the printer mftr Web site. and download the latest drivers for the correct system. Install them on the target machines. The printer must be collected during the installation procedure. If this isn't the case, install the drivers and then use the Add Printer Wizard. In some cases, printers must be installed as local printers, but it is outside this response.

  • Scanning/printing with envy 4500 problem

We had our combo printer for about 6 months... we had a problem with the printing of our laptop computer after you install the software. When you try to print, the dialog box shows the printer is offline, but it's not. We also have the software installed on our desktop. My question is, we are limited to a single computer for this printer and not both? If so, this is not cool. I have run diagnostics and just, it will not help. I uninstalled the software from the laptop and reinstalled. It worked today, but now I can not scan from my office. What is the problem?

    Jack

    Hi @radiowizard,

    Welcome to the HP Forums!

I see that your HP Envy 4500 printer is indicating that it is in offline mode. According to another post, you run that Windows 7 is that correct? I'm happy to help you with this problem of connection!

This printer has USB connection or wireless connectivity options. If you wireless you can print with several computers, if computer USB and then one at a time.

Please consult this guide, "Printer is off-line" Message appears on the computer and the printer does not print: Windows 7.

Hope this guide clears things up for you and have a wonderful day!

  • Lightroom / Photoshop CC on two computers?

    Hey Adobe-Team,

I intend to rent Lightroom / Photoshop CC...

As I am with two computers (Imac and MacBook), is it possible to install LR / PS CC on both computers? Or what I need to buy / rent twice?

How does Mobile LR on my Ipad know which computer to synchronize?

In addition, it is possible to place / store catalogs on a NAS?

I appreciate your comments, thank you very much in advance.

    Best regards

At some point of time, you can be connected on two machines, however use only at one hour.

  • What the your work flow using Lightroom on two computers?

I realize similar questions have already been asked, but after much research, I gave up on the dream of seamlessly sync between my laptop and desktop computer facilities (and catalogues) in Lightroom.

I thought that Lightroom Mobile hold the answer, but this can only sync with a catalogue and a mobile device. Then I tried to open the same catalog (which resides on an external drive) on both computers, but my laptop is connected via a network. It seems that an opening on a network catalog is not allowed? This leaves export and import of catalogs, but to be honest, it's a little a rigmarole.

So, I find myself with my office and the catalogue of my collection of photos (which works fine). That just leaves me with my laptop, which is frankly a bit redundant.

I'm curious to know how other people work with two computers... two catalogs and never the two are irreconcilable? Or export catalogs between devices permanently? Or something else?

    Hi Froodster,

We do not recommend our user to upgrade their catalog on the network drives, because you could faces challenges to access and update.

If your images can reside on the network drive, but the catalog must be on a local drive on the computer or any external drive.
