Problem: cannot display the ink levels
I can't view the ink levels. Customer support can't help. Use the Windows 7 operating system
Have 'obsolete' HP PSC 1410 All in One
Always had HP Solution center which I did more. IT seems that there was an update of software and no tab displays ink levels. I printed sheet test that was worthless.
Customer support says that they have no support or the pilot of this old machine. I have my original disks, but my computer will not allow him to run because he has XP
Please let me know if there is a way that I can see my ink levels or to get around this problem
Thank you!!!
If you have not already installed for this printer, and then try to download and install the latest drivers for the PSC 1410 all-in-one on the HP site.
These can be found here. There is also a document located here, with information on how to check this model of printer ink levels.
If you have already had a previous driver for this printer is installed, you will need to uninstall the old software and install the latest version.
Let me know if you are able to view ink levels with software installed from this package.

HP Deskjet 1050 J410 printer: cannot display the estimated ink levels
Something has changed on my system, so I cannot view the ink levels on my printer Deskjet 1050 J410 estimated.
When I select the icon "HP Deskjet 1050 J410 series Properties", he used to be option to view estimated ink levels. This option is gone. The 4 options that appear now are: 1) the HP printer Assistant (which does nothing), 2). Set preferences, 3). See what's printing and 4). Customize your printer. None of these options show ink levels.
I have uninstalled/reinstalled the printer software HP using the DVD supplied with the printer.
I deleted the printer (using the control panel) and then reinstalled the printer device driver.
I unplugged/replugged the power and USB printer cables.
I farm/powered down the system.
None of the above fixed the problem.
I'm as Windows 7 Home Premium with MicroSoft's latest fixes. I don't know when this problem appeared - I noticed when I was printing and got a warning message about the low ink level.
No idea what caused this problem and how to fix?
Thank you

I searched the Internet and found something that solved my problem. The link to information is:
I do not uninstall anything - just clicked on download.
Now everthing is great to work with the HP printer Assistant. Finally.

Windows Update: problem webite cannot display the page
Just install a new hard drive and reinstalled the original XP Media Center operating system. I get this error when you try to get the windows updates: the site has encountered a problem and cannot display the page you are trying to view. The options provided below may help you solve the problem. Help, please.
@Whitebearmike
Question for you: what is the level of service pack of the operating system XP?
If no or anything under service pack 3, you need to get to service pack 3.
Run WINVER to check the service pack level.
If your XP is the gold (no service pack) version or even the sp1 or sp2 windows (iirc) then automatic updates will not work.
You must have service pack 3, but so that you have either installed SP1a or SP2.
Please review carefully. Make a backup of your system offline media (before & after each service pack).
To download service pack 2 - see http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkID=186637
To download service pack 3 - see http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=183302
I invite you to do a mirror image of system backup once SP3 is correctly in place. Mirror-image backups are on the only good way to come back to a clean image, if and when disaster strikes.
You can use the following to install the service Pack XP

It is stated in "How to obtain the latest service pack XP" is.
If you have problems obtaining the service pack from Windows Update, you can download the package of standalone update from the Download Center.
This page will say that this installation package is intended for it professionals and developers. However, you can download this file safely.
The following file is available for download from the Microsoft Download Center:
Download the Windows XP Service Pack 3 package now
FIRST: Uninstall IE8 and IE7 if they are installed. Back to all the way back to IE6. You want other patches before you get those. Reboot after doing this.
You are not the first to ask questions about how to upgrade a clean Windows XP - not even installation in the last week. In fact, I will just cut and paste my answer here... here:
Get SP2 (manually) and save it to your desktop. (There's a link here.) [You are a COMPUTER professional for now.]
Install it.
Then restart at least a couple of times for a few minutes between each restart.
Get SP3 (manually) and save it to your desktop. (There's a link here.) [You are a COMPUTER professional for now.]
Install it.
Then restart at least a couple of times for a few minutes between each restart.
Download at least Internet Explorer 7 (if it is not Internet Explorer 8).
Install it.
Reset.
Now, try to get the updates through the normal web page (http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com/) and see how much more you can get (100 +) and keep checking until you no longer have.
Back - let everyone know if it worked for you.

Should I turn off my Anti virus software is what could be stopping my updates? some sites would sugest that I use Kaspersky 2012, if that's the case, then why do all my other programs that are installed to date OK?
Hello
Check your level of service current pack...
- Hold down the Windows (between Ctrl and Alt) key and press Pause break
- Examine what is listed in the system: section
If there is no service pack designated first level you must download SP2 from...
http://www.Microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?displaylang=en&ID=28
.. .and then run the downloaded program to install SP2.
Once you have done this, or if you were already in service pack 1, 1a or 2, then install SP3 by downloading and running from...
http://www.Microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?displaylang=en&ID=24
For both of the above, you can ignore the text that says it's for network installations and also ignore the text advising windows/microsoft update if a single update of a PC.
So try and get up-to-date with the Windows updates.
