Problem creating bootable installation for El Capitan

Hello

When I try to create an installation program for El Capitan bootable on a new MacBook Pro (A1278) in November 2015 using the string SUDO included in

HT201372: Create a bootable OS x Installer, I get an immediate failure with the answer "sudo: failed to initialize the PAM: no such file or directory." Diskmaker X loops on it and runs into the same answer of the problem.  Is there a solution or the solution to this problem?

If you do not already have a current backup, please backup all data, and then reinstall the OS. * you don't need to erase the boot volume, and you won't need the backup unless something is wrong. If the system has been upgraded an earlier version of Mac OS X, you may need to the Apple ID and password to use.

There are ways to back up a computer that is not fully functional. Ask if you need advice.

If you installed the runtime Java distributed by Apple, and still need, you will need to reinstall it. It goes the same for Xcode. All other data will be preserved.

Related support article refers to OS X 10.11 ("El Capitan"), but the procedure is the same for OS X 10.7 ("Lion") and later versions.

    Hello

The A10 is a former, and it is not impossible that your HARD drive starts to malfunction.

    (1) it seems that you have one of the oldest recovery disk that supports the standard recovery procedure and expert recovery procedure. The standard collection format the whole HARD drive and erases all partitions from the disk. Recovery expertise formats only the partition where the operating system will be installed.
So you can use the recovery expertise to reinstall the operating system on the partition.

    > Can I make a bootable CD (I have CDRW/DVDR) and boot from it?
Yes. You can create this disk. For example, Microsoft Windows PE can be useful. Google a bit...

    (2) you can not download the Win XP... you can download the SP2 and SP3, but this service packs are can be used in the framework of pre-installed Win XP OS.

    (3) the /F command chkdks corrects errors on the disk... also deliver the bad clusters...

  • Problem creating a weblogic for short server domain

I ran the short Server Setup program that created a folder named 'EndecaServer7.5.1_1' folder (C:\Oracle\Middleware) of Middleware. While creating a new domain in weblogic for short server, I don't get any options "Server Oracle short" and "Oracle JRF" selection under "generate an automatically configured domain to take in charge the following products:  I found no jars corresponding to "Server Oracle short" and ' Oracle JRF ' in the sub templates folder in the folder of Middleware. Do I need to manually add the jars in the models folder, if yes, what are the jars I might add for Server Oracle short ' and "Oracle JRF".

Suggestions for this problem would be appreciated.

    Thank you

I assume that you have installed the ADF package, which is required for the selection "JRF Oracle".

Second, the domain server (named oracle.endecaserver_7.5.1.jar) short model is to:

    C:\Oracle\Middleware\EndecaServer7.5.1_1\common\templates\applications

If you do not see the directory \EndecaServer7.5.1_1\common (or other directories such as \endeca-cmd and \endeca-server), then the installation did not work properly.

  • Problem creating drive recovery for Satellite L550-10N

    Hello.

I just bought a L550-10N and the first thing I tried to do is to create recovery discs using the Toshiba recovery disc creator.

Everything went well on the first creation of disc (4 must be created).
The problem starts with the second disk: about when it's half burned, decisions of the gauge, the DVD drive continues to function for hours and never stops.

I tried the process again, but it was exactly the same.

Anyone an idea how to solve this problem?

    Thank you!

According to my experience, the best thing you can do is to create a recovery media using DVD-R virgins.
I have created for several different models of laptops using TDK or Verbatim DVD-R media, and every time everything was fine.

  • How to create bootable CDs for Tecra M7?

    Hello

I just got my Tecra M7 and want to split the drive into 2 partitions. I found several tools to do this without losing the data on the existing partition, but they all seem to rely on the use of a boot disk. I don't have a floppy drive, so I tried to create a bootable CD.

I use CDBurner XP Pro and this tool gives me the ability to create a bootable XP image or emulate a floppy disk. If I select the programs that I want to run after startup (the partition in my case manager) and use an XP image and start the laptop (by pressing F12 and selecting the CD player to start), nothing happening, just a flashing cursor, but the system does not meet all the keys. If I use the emluation floppy the system starts and I get an A: cursor. If I look at the contents of A:, I see several programs, such as format and fdisk (according to the .ima file that I used during the creation of the CD). But I do not see the files I added, so I can't run the partition manager.

How can I create a bootable CD that contains the files that I want to run after starting?

    Thank you
    Joost

    Hello

For HARD drive and score editor, I use PowerQuest Partition Magic V8.0 (Build 1242). You can install the application as usual it and start the application Windows XP application. This tool is very powerful and allows you to edit the HDD as you wish for it.

  • Create an installer for an extension without the help of the plugin Manager

    Hello

I need to use an external installation program to install an extension of Photoshop without having to build a zxp package installed with Adobe Extension Manager. Is it still possible? Would it work if I just copy the extension files in a specific folder?

    Thanks in advance!

    Hello

    It won't work if you:

    1. move the folder of the extension to the appropriate folder (/Users/ untilLibrary/Application Support/Adobe/CEPServiceManager4, which will become /Users/Library/Application Support/Adobe/CEP)
    2. Set the debug flag - because you use extensions that have not been digitally signed.

For an automated method to perform 2, see David Deraedt here shell scripts: CC-Extension-Builder-for-Sublime-Text/cc-ext-sdk at master · · davidderaedt/CC-Extension-Builder-for-Sublime-Text GitHub watch setdebugmode.bat and setdebugmode.sh

    Hi chenghao,.

The error messages you provided are in fact rather generic, and as such, it is quite difficult to troubleshoot the problem only on that basis. I would like to ask you some questions to help me understand your problem better.

What version of LabVIEW are you using? Also, the VI (or screws) you want to compile into an executable running on its own LabVIEW?

Perhaps, it would be useful that you have downloaded your file VI and LabVIEW project (if you have one) as well as all other relevant records. If you do not have a LabVIEW project, please submit your application configuration settings.

Thank you and looking forward to your response.

  • Installation of El Capitan on new hard drive using the option createinstallmedia

I'm not able to restore the operating system on a newly installed hard drive.  I replaced my hard drive on a Macbook Pro 2009 or 2010 version.  I created a recovery file on a USB for El Capitan using the createinstallmedia of the Terminal command.  The specific command was: sudo/Applications/Install\ OS\ El\ Capitan.app/Contents/Resources/createinstallmedia--volume/Volumes/Untitled--applicationpath/Applications/Install\ OS\ El\ Capitan.app X\ X\

start the computer holding down the Option button, but do not see anything that runs the options to select a disc of installation or installation of the OS.

    Hello!

"Createinstallmedia" erases and writes on whole thumb drive. So, wipe your drive thumb whole and make sure that it is in a form "Mac OS extended (journaled) map of Partition GUID and named"Untitled"by default. No two partitions, won't work.  I highly recommend a 8 or 16 GB USB key that you can devote especially for this purpose. This is the Apple Support doc and a tutorial with the command copy / paste of the Mac world.

  • Installation of El Capitan

Can I download El Capitan, save it to a flash drive and then install it later?

I'm upgrading to El Capitan in Snow Leopard, but I don't want to install immediately. I read on this forum that I could save to a flash drive and install it later, but I just tried to do that and it didn't work.  I missed something? I downloaded it last December and it it took hours, but then I decided against upgrading at this time here and deleted. This seems to be a very different download process now. Does anyone have instructions on how to backup to a flash drive or another external drive? In addition, downloaded very QUICKLY all the time - it took 20 minutes or more. This seems very strange to me. I need to do a few more things on my computer before installing it, but I don't want to wait until the next major release of the Mac OS x version comes out, I hear soon. If anyone has tips on how to save El Capitan on a flash drive I would really appreciate it. Thank you.

  • Size required for El Capitan USB flash drive?

What is the size of the flash drive USB should have so that it contains a bootable installer from El Capitan?

Intend to upgrade my HD for one SSD and want to restart from a USB key.

The installer for OS X El Capitan takes approximately 4-5 GB of storage, so I suggest you use a 8 GB USB drive at least to create an OS X El Capitan bootable Installer.

  • installation of El Capitan in a mac by usb, but only using windows to create the USB

installation of El Capitan in a mac by usb, but only using windows to create the USB

I'm having a problem to install el capitan on a mac book pro 2009 has changed (dead) to an ssd HARD drive

I can't find that any information how to do this from a windows machine (now only available) of the old system had the lion as I was told and when trying to install lion line or wireless it says it isn't available now so the machine is stuck without an operating system.

If you are anywhere near an Apple Store, I would suggest bringing your MBP to and asking to help. For USB, you need to partition and format to allow to boot on a Mac, what Windows can not do. Then either create a bootable installer or install OS X on USB and then copy the installer it, boot from it and run the installer with the SSD as a target.

  • Do not click then that would start in a player flash for a clean installation of El Capitan.

Bootable media created on a flash drive to do a clean installation of El Capitan on my MBP to Mid 2009. Once I'm booted up in the newly created disk, I can't click on anything in the public services. Chaotic strikes me disk utility, but clicking on does not. I can arrow up to my HD, but unable to select erase. To be clear, I CAN click around in disk utility when I'm booted up 'normally' in my HD. But when I restart, press the alt/option key and select the flash drive, I created for the new facility, click on in order to continue this process is not an option.

First aid post ever. Hope that plays by the rules. Thank you very much!

It's very strange behavier. Have you tried to clean your trackpad? Have you tried a wired mouse?

Before you click to install flash player, the mouse was sensitive to other options?

  • Problem with installation of El Capitan on A1181 EMC 2330

Hello - I met a problem during an update to El Capitan on EMC2330 (A1181 - white plastic MacBook). HARD drive is original (160GB - 40 GB free, checked for error Apple), RAM is original Apple (2 GB). Firstly, I download update via the Appstore. He refused the facility. Then, I used to try installation - there is no bootable USB key - Setup runs, the files begin to copy, installation takes a long time (about 2-3 hours) and ends with a fatal error. The previous operating system (10.6), it works perfectly.

I can't reach directly Setup LOG reports, so there's a log file on my google reader:

  • Need to create an installation media for Windows 8 (not 8.1)

I recently had need to reinstall Windows 8.1 due to a crash problem. I am now stuck because of the key, I bought and that a Microsoft tech I had a chat session with said use the button install Windows 8 on the following page:

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-8/upgrade-product-key-only

Well, it doesn't work and think that I have no internet connection then further down the same page is a link to create the installation media if you get this message but isn't only for 8.1 8. My key does not work on a clean install of Windows 8.1, which I already have a DVD. When I came across this problem, a comment I found said to use a generic key because the installation will not continue. Well, it worked, but when I tried to activate Windows with my purchased key, he acknowledged, because apparently my installation media was just 8.1 and not Pro that I bought. I asked the tech if I could use the web page above to reinstall Windows again and he said yes, but make sure you use Windows 8.

I saw the link above referenced in many places on this forum for people who want to install 8 don't not 8.1, but it leads to the same place, and when you launch mediacreationtool.exe, there are only options for 8.1.

I've been going round in circles on links to Microsoft, but the creation of the only available media seems to be to 8.1. Where can I download the installation for Windows 8 only media?

It shows how to use a WIndows 8 key to activate a Windows Installer Clean 8.1 in stage 4 information box in the blue link.
