  The code above when it is run, declares that it runs successfully. But it does not update the columns you want [DEPT_DSCR].
  
  It works only when we want to update one or more columns of the same table... i. e by providing these columns after ' to UPDATE THE.
  I don't know what exactly is the problem when you want to update several columns of different tables.

  All columns have the same data because there is no where clause in the update statement and that's why it would update all records.

  I don't know what should be the condition for the update, because this is business logic, which you need to know.

  There was the fundamental problem in the code that I pointed out above in my last comment.

  You write once appropriate where clause in your query of update, it will give you the desired results.

Experience with the support person, that I have had - spread over some time - has been remarkable. You save time and headaches - if you find any information on your error code get help from M/S even if you have to pay for it. If your time is worthless as it's well worth.
