problem of null values

Hello

I have a summary form that displays data from more than 10 tables, so I wrote manual sql query for each field to extract data from the database. but I got error "no data found" if one field was not filled or be null.
So, how can I handle this null values so that the other data will be displayed and only certain fields will be null, which has no data.

Because only extraction of form will be no insertion will be held but I can not use "SQL" as a Source because the sequence of data extraction is different from the display sequence of fields on the user interface, so some data get never recovered.

Thanks in advance
Rupesh

Rupesh,

Try to avoid the "while OTHERS THEN". Use "WHEN NO_DATA_FOUND THEN." This will prevent you other unexpected errors of masking.

Kind regards

    Hello everyone,

    I come here with a question that troubled me for some time. I have a script which I run in SQLPLUS every now and then to generate an XML file.

  • Null values for DB2 are causing problems

    Hello
    I have another problem with the link to the database to DB2 on IBM iSeries Access for Linux 64-bit OEL5 with gateway database Oracle and unixODBC 2.2.14.
    DB link works. However, null values for DB2 are causing problems. "The columns Date null on db2 return a date ' 30.11.0002 ', and the columns of characters that are null return an error ORA-28528: heterogeneous Services data type conversion error.
    isql returns the correct results.

    How can I fix? May set some parameters for the conversion of the data on the entry door?

    Thank you.

    If the driver is not fully ODBC level 3 compliant and functions of the spleen, we are lost. But sometimes drivers ODBC level 3 compliant, but lack the correct implementation of 64-bit. In these cases, we can tell the gateway to use the 32-bit ODBC 3 standard adjustment level in the gateway init file:

  • JDev 11 g: problem view VO criteria ignore Null values

    Hello

    I don't know if it's a bug or do something wrong but here is my case:
    I created an original Version of a database table.
    In page view of all of VO, aaa I bind a variable named
    Then I add a criteria-> display I add an element of criteria including bing my previously create variable to an attribute of VO-> I have defined validation on "necessary".
    Then a race my request and made a few test/dev.

    After a while, I needed to change my display criteria 'optional' with 'Ignore Null values' checked.
    I changedit, run my application and the display criteria did not work... I don't add no rows returned when I went to my variable named "null".
    After 1 or 2 days to research, I managed to notice that in fact, an attribute is missing in my VO object source.

    I needed to add explicitly in the XML of the source of this attribute:
    GenerateIsNullClauseForBindVars = 'true '.

    in the desired so ViewCriteriaItem it ignores Null values.

    I tried various combinations of the interface for presentation but non of them generated this attribute set to "true".
    Only when I put the validation 'Optional' and ' ignore values null ' unchecked, GenerateIsNullClauseForBindVars = 'false' appears in the XML source code.

    Is this a bug?

  • NULL values for some elements of the XML reading tree

    I am confirming that I interpret correctly all the elements of a custom data XML structure defined by my application (the schema is completely under my control).  Some of the elements in my XML tree are read as NULL values, even if similar items are readind as expected.  I have checked some obvious things like misspelling the names of keys, but have not yet find the problem.  Anyone who has debugged similar questions - what else could cause this?

    Example XML:

        1.0.0.0
        1000
        MyAppsName

                1000
                userDefined
                StructName

    And extracted C++ w/comments at the end of each line about what I see (DataManager is my class of CRUD operations):

    In DataManager.hpp:

    QVariant mCustomDataStructsTopLevel;
    QVariantMap mCustomDataStructsTopLevelMap;

    In DataManager.cpp:

    mCustomDataStructsTopLevel = mXda.load(Utils::dataFilePath(customDataStructsFileName));  // XmlDataAccess; verified loading w/no errors
    mCustomDataStructsTopLevelMap = mCustomDataStructsTopLevel.toMap();

    qDebug() << "appName element value: " << mCustomDataStructsTopLevelMap["appName"]; // Outputs "MyAppsName" as expected
    qDebug() << "lastId element value: " << mCustomDataStructsTopLevelMap["lastId"]; // Outputs null (specifically: QVariant(, ) ) - this is NOT expected
    qDebug() << "appVersion element value: " << mCustomDataStructsTopLevelMap["appVersion"]; // Outputs null (specifically: QVariant(QString, "") )  - this is NOT expected

    OK, I got the feeling (and actually hoped) it was a silly mistake of face-palm on my part (compared to a problem of BB10 who had little chance of getting fixed).

    The problem is that I copy the structure of custom data from Starter to my Active dir to my data directory to first install but do not crush him on subsequent launches, as the copy in the data directory is what the user changes and relies on.  I was not a delete and reinstall on each of my iterations, so I wasn't really loading the modified versions of my XML I wanted--just, I was getting a day old stale version which was actually for the items I didn't expect NULL values for nulls.  DOH!

  • PersistentStore.getPersistentObject returns the null value?

    I use a random key to retrieve a shape of the object PersistentStore

    Works fine on the Simulator (OS 5), when I take the code signed to the device (BB OS 5.0 Bold 8900)

  • Bar chart stacked - strange behavior on display null values

    Hi all

    I'm trying to graph a county of the end dates of the activities over several years by months grouped by project.

    The problem I have is that there is a gap of 3 months where none of the activities that I am tracking complete. The default value for the stacked bar chart is to ignore the columns with no data (in my case it October-December 2015).

    To view these any given month I went to properties graphic and ticked the box "Include Null values. At this point, I get a very strange behavior. Once this option is selected, the legend explodes, showing each project in the database regardless if it meets my criteria for analysis.

    Has anyone another considering that happen? I'm doing something wrong?

    If it's important I'm in the OBI 11.1.1.7.150120

    Thank you for your help,

    Kevin Wolfe

    Hello

    You have a filter on the list of projects you want to see?

    Based on the way you describe your analysis I guess you don't have any what filter on the list of projects, but some of the filters on the other dimensions/attributes and these filters were limiting the list of projects.

    If this is the case then what you see is not a weird behavior, but everything you've asked your analysis.

    "Include null values" is not limited to the time dimension, it fits any dimension of your analysis, so no filter on projects = all projects.

  • Freeze frame layer twinkle in gamma (?) when following a null value

    I thought I solved the problem by changing the quality and sampling area, but there are still questions, including a slight deformation based on casual. Any suggestions? I tried rendering framework, and with that same question. If I unparent it to my null value, the layer is a freeze frame plain ol again. The first image is fine, the following conditions are significantly different. The circulation area is low and there is no motion blur. The Null value is animated in the Position, scale and Rotation. I tried to disable rotation and scale, the problem persists.

    I had the help of Robert Kjettrup, who suggested that the problem was due to the complexity of the noise in the particular image I've used. Keeping this aspect, he proposed to conceal the lack of precision with a separate (unprocessed) layer which has been re-grainy, then use a mask of track in the areas you will need to re-grain with this layer.

    I normally Denoise my images, but in this case I had left it the shot as he was, so I was not used to meet a problem like this. Thanks also to Rick Gerard for his help also.

    1. If the first line is null then take the 2nd value in row and update it.

    2. If the lines between both is null then take avg of prev and next value not null and refresh it.

    3. If the last value in the column is null, then then take prev and update, in this case last two are null, so I have to take value of prev 14 value line update in

    Hi Paavo,

    Can I ask what you are trying to achieve by one of the labels by assigning null value?

    Null or an empty string are not useful as a tree node labels. Yet we could be as a minor bug that the area of the tree should be more robust in the JavaScript that it generates.

    Detect the problem (disappears from the dev toolbar) is not different from almost all JavaScript errors. Whenever any client-side behavior seems to not work, for example, no dev toolbar or a tree node does not expand, or a menu is not falling down, or something is not show or hide it should etc, the first thing to check is the browser console log. In this case, it shows the error ' SyntaxError: lack the name of the variable.

  • Null values

    Hello

    NULL values is not the same as a 'space', because a 'space' is a character, but I can't understand this because in my view, there is no way to insert a 'space' in a column.

    It is perfectly possible to insert a space into a varchar2 column. I hope that you do not have a trigger that makes a trim() on the column, because an empty string in Oracle is indeed the same thing with the null value.

  • Lag() ignore null values performance

    Hello

    I have looked around, but didn't find everybody talks about performance problems specifically with the use of 'IGNORE NULLS' inside of an analytic function of LAG() in a view online.

    This is a cut from the version of my sql, isolated to the question under discussion.

    select * from (
      SELECT /* use_nl (j,gjt,jt) */
         jt.id
        ,COALESCE
          (lag(jt.my_column ignore nulls /* this is the nasty critter */
            ) over (order by jt.order_seq)
          ,0
          )+1 AS start_days
        ,coalesce
          (jt.my_column
          ,last_value(jt.my_column ignore nulls
            ) over (order by jt.order_seq desc)
          ) AS end_days
      FROM  a,bunch,of,tables
      WHERE ...
      ) jt
    where jt.id = '123456'

    If I remove ignores NULL values in the offset, there is no performance problem.

    Last_value() is not affected.

    If I do not use a view inline then performance is very good, although it is no different to explain the plan.

    select ..
    from ...
    where ...
    and id = '123456'

    Has anyone come across something like this, or have any suggestions?

    Happy to try to build a test scenario if it contributes to the discussion, but I thought I would just ask the question first.

    Scott,

    He would not have anything to do with your real problem, since you say that you get different performances during the removal of the IGNORE NULLS clause, but I doubt that you get exactly the same execution plan when online display is deleted these two queries are typically semantically the same.

    If you use the inline view, Oracle cannot push the filter on the ID in the view if the analytical functions partitions not by this ID, because the result will not be the same for the steps: with the online mode, the data is transformed without filtering for the evaluation of the expressions of the LAG etc, and then the filter is applied.

    If you remove the inline view and filter directly, it has a quite different meaning because now the data will be filtered first and then the analytical functions apply to the filtered result set.

    So the case of inline view maybe has to deal with a completely different volume (larger) identical to the variant of view data not online according to the selectivity of the filter - which could explain that the clause "IGNORE NULLS" made a significant difference in performance on this larger volume of data to deal with, but not necessarily.
